Linux and business people.

So, I just went out today the first time to do some local offline marketing, and I collected a few free consultations!! Awesome, life is good. I'm sure I will be able to close at least one. However, I am stuck on whether on not I should present on my laptop, or just paper.. The thing is I'm afraid that I will evoke a "dear staring a headlights" response because I run Linux on my laptop. I feel like I can use this to my advantage as an authority and add believability, especially since I am just starting out and only 19. But I feel that I might overwhelm them because of my use of a tiling windows manager. Maybe I should just slap Fluxbox on and call it a day? I don't know, I guess this may just be paralysis by analysis, but hearing what you guys have to say would be awesome!

Linux, Windows, BeOS, whatever...doesn't matter, as long as you don't

    -mention it
    -make a thing of it
    -talk about it at all

You're not there to show your tech savviness, you're there to show how you can help them get more money. You're right though - show them linux and they're dead to you before you start.

All you do before you go in there is open up firefox. That's it. Have FF running (or chrome or whatever you use) so all they see is a familiar web browser, and that's all they need to see.

The more complicated you make it seem, the less likely they are to follow through.
