OFFLINE MARKETING

My fellow warriors, my wife is an incredible woman and one of the smartest people I know, and she is gorgeous to boot. With that combination she has been very successful in the offline world working for the same retail outlet for 12 years yes I said 12 years!!

The retail world and long days of "walking the mile" of concrete over and over has finally brought her to the point of wanting to move into the online world.

She is gorgeous and very well spoken however she no longer wants to do face to face meeting though she is excellent face to face. She also does not want to work phones or sell web sites.

What we are looking for is a business online that she can work a truly online business. I know there are tons out there. She is not looking for a quick dollar she would like to build something solid. Work to the point where she is only working 20 hours a week and making good money within 6 months even if it take longer in the beginning.

What I am sort of thinking is she has been in retail forever. There are business models where you buy and sell product online though you never see those products yourself. However this is where I am looking to my fellow warriors for advice.

I am a public speaker does seminars and training classes for companies and also recruit and hire slaes people, but there are far too many veteran web experts on the forum for me to spend soo much time trying to just figure this out on my own. So I need ideas to give to her. Who knows of a solid program she can look into to help us weed through the thousands of online opportunities.

  I was going to ask the same as DianaHeuser, what retail business was she in for 12 years, you'd need to tell us that as a better pointer, plus if it's not a big deal to your wife or her employer or former employer who exactly has she been with that long it might go a long way to show us what kind of real background she has, for example if she worked at Gap for 12 years, I'd view her a certain way, if she worked at Next for 12 years then she would have a slightly different approach to marketing, packaging, pricing etc, stuff like that (but if you'd rather not say, no problem).
  
  Also, what does she like doing? I don't always advice people to only sell what they love but sometimes it is the best way to go especially if what you love is what is selling or will sell like hot cakes. Sometimes what you love just will never sell so that may not always be a good way to go, but in the case of your wife, I would want to know what she likes a lot, loves, won't easily get sick of doing repeatedly especially since online work is very repetitive.

  What do you mean by good income? Give specifics so we can better judge what kind of ops make the best sense for her goals.
  
  How much does she have to invest, give specifics.
  
  How much experience does she have with computers and especially using the web for personal use and even more important technically like us warriors and expertly for marketing etc?
  
  How many days, weeks, months or years is she willing to invest before she starts to see a profit?
  
  Basically you need to be much more specific to get the best advice.

Then what is her edge over an average (wo)man that is not very good face to face?

think in the shoes of someone sitting in front of your wife's website, what are you excpeting him to see/feel/experience before he is ready to make the call or click that shiny order button?

Well my friends she has been in management with Walgreens. However, thus my suggestion about selling merchandise online, however again looking for ideas. She is really open at this time to different ideas. She has great verbal skills and instant rapport with just about everyone she meets. However again she wants to stay home with our little ones and is looking to find a way to do so without giving up personal income.

To be honest there is nothing she cannot do, very talented individual that wishes now to stay home and work from home. She could book seminars for me cold calling which is easy for many however that would defeat the purpose of her staying home. She has also done several other side projects for companies such as hopitals etc. However she is wanting to go online now .

You ask how much she wants to make. She is not concerned so much at this time on making a lot. She however does want to maintain a minimum of $2,000 a month.

Someone asked about investment. That is not a problem however she is not looking at opening a offline business at this time. Online business requires little investment in most cases. However still investment is not an issue, open to any online ideas where she can make a minimum of $2k.

She is open to making more of course that is simply her minimum for what she wants to do.
She is great with computers and what she does not know she can pick up as fast as any. How much is she willing to invest time wise you asked, the standard work week at this time until she can work it down to about 20 hours.

She is not looking to build a huge organization at this time. She simply wants to make a few thousand a month.

Attractive and well spoken screams " online video commercials for local business " . Start a simple site or a local youtube channel and do a few to show others.

Thank you that is an idea. She seems to be focused more on wanting to stay low keyed as far as herself goes and just help sell others products online. I dont think she is interested so much in putting her face out there. She is rather conservative.

She considered doing medical decoding or something of that nature but really wants options. I think she may need to do some surfing and look at some options. I am just looking at maybe giving her a few choices with ideas from the forum.

I may have her join the forum and spend some time in the affiliate room.

Here's a suggestion that doesn't involve "personal contact".

Set up a Directory for various Niches in Conway!

For example, John Durham posted the following thread;

John said FindLaw gets $1,000 A MONTH from each law firm for the Keyword; Little Rock Attorneys And...Googling "Little Rock Attorneys" I find that the "FindLaw Directory" is in 3rd place in Organics (They may be on the first page for other Keywords)

Little Rock Adoption Lawyers, Attorney, Lawyer, Attorneys, Law Firms - AR#

So...using the Adwords Tool and checking "Lawyers In Conway Ar" I find 390 average monthly hits and..."Conway Ar Lawyers" and "Conway AR Attorneys" also have 390 hits....and....these are ALL AVAILABLE Domain Names as of today (Jan 5, 2010)

Now....doing a check of "Dentist" categories....(all lower case)
"Dentists Conway AR" - 480
"Conway AR Dentists" - 480
"Conway AR Dentist" - 590

So....what your wife could think about doing is...
set up a Directory of Conway Dentists similar to the way FindLaw sets up their Attorney Directory....using these 3 Domains.

Maybe include a Free Report she could find or write called; "How To Find A Dentist" or something consumers would want to know...to increase the Value of the site.

Then list a Sample Listing as an "example" (you don't have to get permission...just list one so potential advertisers can see how YOU want YOUR Listings to look)

Then send emails to other dentists with the Subject Heading;

with the Text;

Okay...you're back. Fine. This KeyWord gets a few hundred searches every month! People looking for a Dentist in Conway, ARkansas.

Now....you could put 8 to 10 dentists in this site and using the 2 other Keywords (available Today)....www.ConwayARDentist.com and www.DentistsConwayAR.com

You can use a Java Script that Rotates the Listings with every new person entering the site.
Or....make up a Sample 3 or 4 page website using one of the 3 Keyword Domains and offer the site to ONE Dentist. Then do the same with the other 2 Keyword Domains...so you then have 3 Conway Dentists with their own site....paying $500 Monthly Rent to YOU.

You could then do the same for other Niches (Roofers, Painters, Plumbers, Electricians etc) ALL sending you $500 a Month...every month.

Let's see....just 4 businesses paying you $500/Mo = $2,000 Monthly!

What if you got 10 biz paying you $500/mo? or 20 ($10,000/mo)....50 ($25,000 A MONTH!)

Worth checking out.

  Type in "Conway Dentists" in Google. What do you see in the FIRST SPOT?
  
  Yup....a VIDEO! And...not even a Video of anything connected to any "Dentist".
  
  This keyword gets 4,400 searches a month BUT....there's more "Conway" towns in the country.
  
  What this shows is a VIDEO....(can be a "Generic 2 min" thing) will GUARANTEE you get Top Spot for any of your Keywords.

She could do basic affiliate marketing (Amazon) Another thing it sounds like she may be interested in is dropshipping, kind of the same as affiliate marketing but more detailed. I haven't done it so anything I say about it would be theory or just things I've read about it, but she could look into that and see if she's interested.

Sounds like affiliate marketing would be the way to go if she just wants to stay strictly online. You could look in the warrior for hire sections and some people build affiliate marketing websites (or she could learn to do it herself)

She could also try adsense, but I think that takes way too long to start making a good income from, but people here build those sites too.

  Here's something I've done that is a "GUARANTEED SALE" and puts $500 plus in my pocket whenever I want.
  
  I call it "Videos On Spec";
  
  I like Restaurants because I can usually find the person who can write me a check....on the spot. The Owner.
  
  And....restaurant owners spend LOTS of money on their interiors HOWEVER...nobody sees the Interiors UNTIL.....they are INSIDE the restaurant.
  
  So....knowing this...my "Sales Benefit" to restaurant owners is;
  "I can let diners OUTSIDE their restaurant....SEE...what's Inside!"
  
  Here's how I do this;
  1) I create a Demo Video by taking some digital shots of a restaurant (Get the owner's permission) I then make a DVD using the free video program "PhotoStory3" by microsoft. I purchase a Portable DVD Player (about $100 from WalMart)
  2) I bring the Demo Video to a restaurant and tell the owner I make Videos for restaurants and put them on the Internet. The Video will SHOW people Outside....what the Inside of your restaurant looks like. I show my Demo Video and ask my owner prospect if he would OBJECT to me making a Demo Video for him....AT NO OBLIGATION!
  (They usually tell me to Go Ahead. Hey! NO obligation!)
  3) I then whip out my little digital and take 15 to 20 shots of outside, sign, inside and a few plates of food. Bring them home and make a DVD.
  4) Go back to restaurant (he's wondering WHAT my Video will look like of HIS Restaurant. I run the DVD in my portable DVD Player and whammo, Bango. They USUALLY love it! Sometimes they ask for different background music. I then quote $497 which includes placing on HIS website and the restaurant site I make for his area. And...for an extra $100 a month (nowadays $250/mo) until cancelled...I will also put his Video on 27 OTHER Video Distribution Sites. (Using Tube Mogul)
  
  Here's my first Video which I still use as a Demo (It's NOT the actual Video the restaurant uses)....
  
  YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.
  
  So....although this involves GETTING OUT and making personal calls....(you could hire a "salesperson" to sell and take the photos)....it has ALWAYS WORKED!

Thank you for those of you who actually gave ideas. I do have some direction for her now. She also is about to do her own research but this will help give her some ideas and options.

@nelzocans Your answer is already a part of my wifes success in life. Thus the reason she has been so affective in everything she does put her hand to?

Thanks again everyone we have our starting point for her now. I appriciate as I am about to be on the road to promote my next seminar in tulsa.
