Offline Business Building Series: "Do You REALLY Believe Your Offline Biz Can Earn FullTime Income?"

Hey Offliners,

In the past few weeks, I've seen something in the sports world that I've never personally witnessed in my entire life that has helped me in my offline business.

Twice, I've seen the Duke Bluedevils men's basketball team lose.

Now, that may seem completely unrelated to offline marketing, but hang on for a minute and allow me to explain.

The truth is that seeing two completely different teams battling it out gave me a flash of clarity that has done wonders to push me forward in my offline business.

In both of those basketball games, the underdog teams who were expected to get beat by fifty to a hundred points started off kinda shaky.

But, as the game progressed the underdog team began to play the game with confidence, which in turn caused them to make more shots and take a few more chances on high-risk but high-return opportunities.

Finally, by the last few minutes of each game, the underdog teams were making incredible passes to each other, scoring seemingly next to impossible shots.

In both cases, the teams that started off shaky, unconfident and unsure of themselves transformed into confident, risk-taking winners.

So, how does that relate to offline marketing?

Here's how...

As I was watching the games, it became obvious that there were pivotal moments in the game when the underdog teams began to believe.

It didn't happen in one play, but it was the combination of several risky moves that turned into small successes.

A steal here, a scored backet there, a defensive stop here, a great scoring play there...before they knew it, they believed.

The same is true for your offline business.

You must have small victories to keep feeding your belief in yourself and in this "offline thing." If you don't, you will fail.

It's a law of the universe. If you don't believe, then you simply can't achieve it. There's no tricking the universe. There's no faking the universe out.

You must believe.

So, how do you build your belief in the ability for offline marketing to grow from hobby money to full-time income status?

First, you must take consistent daily action for an extended amount of time. Start with a 90 day block of lead generating action to get you at least five clients who pay you at least $200 - $500 per month.

Now, with that being said, don't worry about the results for the first 30 days. Just focus on the action part. Examine your results at the end and make changes.

There's just something about taking action that kills fear and builds confidence. Use it to your advantage.

Next, dedicate at least one hour per day to reading anything by Dan Kennedy. I'm not trying to start an argument with anyone over the best business book authors, but I seriously feel like I can acheive any type of business success after readying Dan's stuff.

While, I don't have the time or space to give you the entire formula in one sitting, just doing those two steps will work wonders for generating leads for your offline business and you'll also begin to develop a unshakable belief in your knowledge and abilities.

Hope this helps,

Chris

God this is so true, from where I was 60 days ago (zero confidence scared of my phone to ring), to where I am now (closing calls and talking with the utmost confidence), just taking action was the hugest thing for my self, and the confidence I gained in that short time..

I can't wait to see how much more has been gained in another 60 days.

    Great post.

Also - I need to read Dan's stuff, I hear his name over and over again , I have been lazy

Very good, have known the Kennedy Glazer boys for The reason most people fail in Internet Marketing is lack of focus and taking action. Sometimes when I am building out Wordpress or Facebook Pages, it seems pointless but then it turns into closed sales and new clients with my own lead gen.

Watching confidence ebb and flow in sports is enlightening. It's fun to watch for it. The same people can produce entirely opposite results based on what they believe at the moment. Interesting thing is that performance level may only be 5-10% different.

I've been looking online for a story I heard years ago about a football team, I think it was a Hawaiian college team, well down at halftime. One of these 48-0 situations in which nobody expects the losing team to do anything but continue to lose. The coach gave them examples of teams that had been in similar situations and turned it around. They came back out and won. Anyone else heard this story?
