Google Places? (I'm new at this)

Greetings fellow warriors,

I'm spreading my wings from AdSense/SEO for locals to a large project. I am constructing a sort of a business directory. I want to offer my clients a map excerpt of a city map with their location marked. Now, I have absolutely 0 experience with this, and I'm not even sure if that is the infamous Google Places program.

My 2nd problem is that I need to have this for about 4k companies.

Any suggestions?

Sounds like a big project to me! I'm not too familiar, though if you know any coding, mostly java, this may help you out!

    code.google(dot)com/apis/maps/

    Good luck!

Sorry about the lack of link. :\ Still under 15 posts; I refuse to spam post to get there, and I just want to help.

Domas, it's indeed a big project given you have to get the owners themselves to verify their businesses to be on Google Places...

Thanks a lot guys. I guess I'll look into alternatives or hire someone to do just that.

If anyone has any other suggestions, or pointers, feel free to give them
