I started using what I call Video Proposals and increased my customer base by 300%

I have been doing online consulting for some time now. It was trial and error, but after awhile I started using certain techniques for getting clients and converting potential leads into clients. One of them being video proposals. Really cool trick and super easy. Def recommend it!

I have been kicking this idea around for awhile. I lost 2 contracts in the last few weeks totaling $6,000 and a video proposal could have been the difference.

Do you put together a powerpoint?

What is the length of your proposal?

      Hi Casey,

Very interesting... are you using a different approach than some of the
"Local Video Method" ideas? And more details would be really helpful for the rest of us... like:

      - how long is your video?
      - is it customized to the prospect (by name/biz name)?
      - what trials and errors would you be willing to share with us?
      - and most of all, what are you marketing?

      Thank you,
      Tracy Moore

I don't see any solution here... I am a Online Video Marketing Consultant with over two hundred short information based Videos I not sure of the protocol here so I'm not sure if I can include video links.

Hey ADukes81. Yeah I was losing some clients with just the normal pp proposal, so I made it into a video. I also sent over the PP as a pdf for the client as well. Another trick is doing an mp3 of the presentation and send a slide share link, and in between say, "turn page" or "next page". Kind of cool and people love a little bit of technology. They feel that creates a bit of authority. Cheers man!

I'm struggling to understand the point of this post. Did you post this to have everyone pat you on the back and say "good job" or were you going to give any value to the post other than....

"video proposal increased customer base by 300%"
    "certain techniques"
    "trial and error"
    "really cool trick"
    "super easy"

LOL... sorry if this is coming off as me being a Diiick. Might be a little bit more beneficial if you gave an example or more details on your video proposals.

I would venture that there's a connection between the op's claim and his signature....nothing wrong with a little self promotion I suppose. But I would have to question the real motive of the post.

      Just checked the op's signature...my my...what a coincidence!
No question about the motive. IMHO this thread is a nothing more than a cheap trick!

No question that video is a strong way to make an inroad to a prospect. But I would go to fiverr and get one done, I'm busy with other things that make my business run and learning video production isn't one of them. I don't know what it is about this thread that annoys me no end!

Wow guys. I forget how hardcore some of you super bitter Warriors are. I do offline consulting and was offering an option. I started creating video proposals. Which are simply screen captures of power point. My clients really started loving it.
Here is my question. Who are you people that post such awful stuff? Do you even make any money online at all? David Miller , using Sinatra why are you so ruthless man. Voasi you as well. Not patting myself on the back, it just started working for me.

Guess how I figured out that it started working??? oooooohhhhh. Through digging in day and night into video for the last 2.5 years.

In fact, if you want to know how I do my consulting just ask me, pm me.

Oh and my Signature which has my webinar plugin and my other site, have nothing to do with creating a video proposal to land a client.

Thanks to those who were actually interested, and to those insane ones- I feel sorry for you.

Also I dont hide behind anything, this is Casey Zeman.

Thats why they are being ruthless.

Too many people come to this forum who have no sense of the sacred warrior spirit and instead of giving value on the forum they want you to "pm" them. They suck people out of the forum instead of contirbuting value to it. Your post has value to Y-O-U but it does not have value to ALLEN SAYS .

      Respect the Warrior ground man.

      Who am I to talk...?

A guy who gives content and valueable posts that are a mile long.

Do I get subscribers? Do people buy my reports?

Yes. But I do it the Warrior way that pays homage to the forum and its owner... anything less is just coming to take advantage and give nothing back.

They are pissed because they dont take kindly to those who only come to prey on the hard work of the people who help make it great.

Does it offend me too? Yes. Why? Because Im also one of the people who try to honor it and help make it great! lol

Etiquette is to not ask for people to pm you, but just answer them on the thread. If they want to PM you they will.

Just offer so much value to the forum that they "do".

      Thats the warrior way.

Maybe we are ruthless, but thats why we are the greatest marketing forum on the planet.

Give something of value, your op sucks. Sorry. Hopefully you werent looking for a bunch of thanks on that great contribution.

John , this is where it gets confusing. I feel like i cant say too much because everyone goes crazy. I just said if they want to know more then PM me. If you read the threads, I give pretty detailed info here. Just the idea alone is brilliant, because it WORKS.

I am sorry that everyone jumps to insidious...

SO John, seeing as though i am in an offline marketing forum and i pose the option of giving to your prospective clients instead of a power point proposal, one as a video, that warrants the vamps and wolves? I remember why I usually dont post stuff on Warrior anymore. I look for conversations. That is what I want. A forum is about relating, coming together.

If I leave a post, and it isnt 5 paragraphs long, then i am simple wanting to have a conversation and meet and engage and SHARE!

Please understand that I have run WSO's and I have had some good success on this forum, because I am not typical and sleazy like most the people on here. I listen to people, respond to what they are wanting.

I am sorry I offended you and the rest, but really you guys offend me right back. Just being honest.

I guess maybe some people did jump the gun a little (have not checked sig. link).

However, I do feel they had some merit in saying that your OP didn't offer much value. Not being offensive here, but you really didn't give much away other than "it's working for you" - which is great.

I think the people here would want a bit more info. on it, as for me - well, I probably wouldn't use it anyway, just saying what I think people are 'meaning' to say.

    Good luck.

Hey I want to thank you for the nice respond. I usually don't want to offer too much info right away for fear of overstepping, but I thought it made sense being a video proposal, just taking a proposal and doing a screen capture video.

I'm curious about this, as it's something I've thought about getting my VA's to do to land clients that are not in my immediate area.

Hopefully you won't mind answering a few questions:

    - Is the video proposal sent to a warm prospect or a cold prospect?
    - How long are your videos?
    - Do you show your face or is it a voice over with a normal PP presentation?

The honest truth is - I think video proposals are a great way to get your foot through the door. Create a "video" outlining what is incorrect in their online marketing strategy and showing them how your services can actually HELP them

I'm glad I stopped by this thread.

His signature links have absolutely nothing to do with the thread at hand. Made me laugh.

I don't see the need to be ruthless.

Sometimes a bit of kindness can go a long way. John, don't mistake me, I have a lot of respect for you and understand your post.

However, I often trawl through threads where the manner and tone of replies - in my opinion - is completely unwarranted.

Maybe the OP was excited and just wanted to share stats. A simple request to: how would be better than: thanks a lot for nothing.

Well, what happened? Did the OP increase his clients from 1 to 3?

Here we try to share techniques and methods that work.

How does the OP use video proposals? How does he define a video proposal? Does he post them on youtube privately, then email prospects and link to them? How long are they? What kind of content do they include? What is his target market, and how has he tailored this solution to getting their attention?

Value comes from answering these and similar questions. I'm not saying the OP should give the store away but frankly that's hard to do anyhow. Even if he was to share every little detail of what he did and how he did it, people still wouldn't take action, or would want support, or would want to outsource the whole idea.

When we talk about value, it goes far beyond a mere "Hey, I did something! Go Me!"

Im thanking you Jason for coming of age as a warrior.

    @ The Op

You could not possibly imagine the hard time I myself was given when I first started posting and the haters I fought off. Now Im not taking that out on you... but Im helping you become a better Warrior so you can be respected down the road.

As Kay King says, we dont put on kid gloves for anybody, and I for one have earned the right to say it. I NEVER funnel people out. They either like my post and click my link or not.

Asking interested people to pm you to get information on a thread YOU started... Not cool. Just give it here man!

If you get flamed you get flamed but at the WF you have to put your balls out there to earn respect. Its a bit sniveling to us when people do it otherwise.

I have been flamed ALOT personally, but I learned how to do it right , and you will too.

Or else the wf will become a weak breed and wont be special anymore.

    Thats what they are protecting.

Ok so you guys want to know how i do it.
I create the pp using my custom consultant pp
I then record the proposal using screenflow for mac.
I then post the video either on YouTube or My own Amazon S3 link.
I then send it to my prospective client.

I am sorry but I was really assuming that the video proposal made sense after I said it was with screen sharing software. I thought most of you guys knew all about this stuff.

I have a consulting power point that i have already created that is customized as well as a consulting contract and a 90 minute webinar that was all about offline consulting using these methods.
I can actually give you the consulting power point that I created specifically to be recustomized for a particular potential clients local search result (for seo consulting). Also I have a list of outsourcers, but not sure if I can leave the link here.

I actually have a wso where i sell it, but I will give it to you who ask for free. Is that value??? ask me here or pm me, or dance the hokey pokey.

If you guys even knew who I was, there would be no question of value considering my blog is 400 posts of mostly video tutorials.

Nope, we don't all know this stuff. It's your world, not ours.

    So is "pp" PowerPoint?

I don't know what an Amazon S3 link is. (I'll look it up. Holy Jeez that technical stuff on the pricing estimate page crosses my eyes.)

Yes, your post provides some value. However, it is still engulfed with the jargon of your world. Most people will not be familiar with the applications you mention.

      Diana,

What I generally put in the video is just the presentation that adheres to the clients needs.

You see the video is just a recorded power point. A power point presentation of your proposal for your client. So

      say SEO
or Social Media and then by the end of the presentation I tell the client my quote for the consulting contract...and usually in the video. I will tell them the contract period as well. ie 8 month contract , what have you.

      Hope this helps!

      Cheers,

That's what you're first post should have said and all of this could have been avoided. Clearly you've done a lot of back-peddling and that's natural considering what's happened.

But the fact is that your original post was about this good:

Hey warriors, I make my own pizza and it's the best pizza I've ever tasted. I've served it to some friends and they said it was the best pizza they ever tasted. You should make your own pizza.

Here is my question. Who are you people that post such awful stuff? Do you even make any money online at all? David Miller , using Sinatra why are you so ruthless man. Voasi you as well. Not patting myself on the back, it just started working for me.

By the way....who the hell are you to be so presumptive as to make assertions as to my ability to make money ONLINE.....not to mention that this is an OFFLINE FORUM. Have I said to you that you ought to "sack up" and pick up the phone and call a prospect.

Eh, I used to think that getting specific names of people who were interested was important. Fact is, those who want your services will track you down. (I remember Fernando yelling at me once to just paste a video into a post here instead of forcing people to click though to my site, even without an opt-in...and he was right--but I didn't know you could do that so easily before that moment.)

The key is putting more value into your posts. I share things that I believe should be charged highly for, every time; I grit my teeth and share the technique. Then people get ahold of me on their own accord. No need to chase prospects. It might seem counter-intuitive, but the forum actually does work this way.

At any rate, most of the questions above don't look like they have "Top Secret" answers.

No John, the point of the thread was to provide value, and start a discussion. But you guys got violently ruthless. The info that I finally left at the bottom was after you tore it out of me, instead of having a conversation in which i was getting to anyway.
I said the PM (and please listen to my words) to give the link for FREE to those who ask. The link is not an offer, it is the page that people pay for to get it.

Its because we look beyond semantics and into intentions here.

Your intention was to generate interest in your service, not to chit chat and talk shop.

Thats okay, but forgive us for recognizing it Casey Zemen.

I can appreciate that you have been doing it for 2.5 years. Voasi is a pro too, and has a sales network of trained professionals... and makes vid presentations too... and charges 5k per month per client... Im fairly sure he has done it for more than 2.5 years now...and he is only one person here out of hundreds probably who do vid presentations...

    Glad to know you though.

Ps. Vaosi wasnt being a jerk, he was simply asking what your point was, you started a fight by calling them ruthless, and saying the warriors were bitter.

There are also quite a few generic videos we use for our clients to give them an idea what we can provide. You can include them in your proposal.

In fact we could add them to this post to get an idea of what is available.

There were lots of great ones posted in this thread

This is one we use a lot for QR Codes

Have fun and great discussion Casey. I agree video can make all the difference, provide credibility and show the customer whats happening easily and quickly.

Now that is an example! Love it! I wonder how much it cost to make.

You guys put a bookend on the back to direct people to you, right? Or do you write some copy around it and make the vid clickable thru to your site?

Any quick suggestions for people who might want to make a video with a similar out-of-the-box (ie. NOT "Here is a QR code. It is black and white and looks like a Star Trek chessboard") idea, but don't have $1000s to spend? Yes your first link provides many examples. The trend, though, seems to be toward facts laid over animation and a soundtrack.

I'm thinking more on the project planning side...what do people need to think of and have ready to do this? I suppose you could have a storyboard of someone going shopping for a friend who's tough to buy for and encountering a magic QR code...or needing to find the restaurant to meet up with their buddies...I imagine it doesn't have to be big-budget. But what should people expect for days to storyboard, film, edit and such to have it ready?

My post was not in regards to doing a video production for a client, or show services through unique ideas like that. But Those are brilliant ideas.

This is an example of what I mean.

But still brilliant idea with the qr code video. I shot a video for an app , that was a backyard bbq that used a bit of humor and snippet concepts, because we wanted it to be successful on YouTube.

Guys who are being aggressive, guys, again. I am sorry that I didnt mention initially how it works in detail, however on the main forum I outlined it and I wrote that one around the same time.

I really just possed the question. Not trolling (god that is such a stupid internet geek thing to say)

You paranoid, warriors just have no lives, next time just ask. OH and the PM---you guys are really not reading what i am saying. I am GIVING AWAY this stuff to you, but only in a pm. You guys are already disrespectful, why the hell would i give it in the thread, just to have you jackasses who have shown to be disrespectful to just spread it around? You see, it is a WSO currently. So far a few people from this post have contacted me and I sent them the link. Period , that is that.

        Much love, Casey

          LOL...

Holy...F-ing...Shiiit... Are you really coming out and saying that you wanted people to respond to you via PM so you could spam them your WSO? Really?! Wow... you really should just stop posting, or at the least, stop shooting yourself in the foot like this.

This is an open community, built in the 'ol U.S of A., which means Freedom of Speech (for now...thanks SOPA) - if you don't like the heat from posting, don't post. Don't expect everyone to be all rosy when you don't give any real value. Especially now after that last response. You know how this forum works, you've been registered since 2009.

As for me, I've earned the right to say what I've said. After 1000+ posts here, after countless nights on this forum, after being on this site since 2004, after providing hours of hours of posts to help BUILD this community to what it is today, I've earned it.

You're posts could've been easily rectified by just providing the value that should've been provided in the initial post.

Trust me, I get that you want to push people to your WSO - this site gets over 300k visitors a month - you want a slice! But don't start crying when you get called out.

Hey you are the one using terms like ruthless , bitter, sleaze... Dont get mad at us for dishing it back. we dont believe or disbelieve anyones claims here, we just judge their content.

Thats how we're trained. For all we know you bought someone elses old account. If you say you are Casey Zemen (?????????) okay, and if you say you increased 300% great.

The intial question that pissed you off was "whats your point". You started getting harsh with your words about Warriors... So it aroused righteous indignation.

    Butter any one?

Seriously dude your first post was a troll, you didn't offer 1 ounce of value. And to ask people to PM you to deliver the value is very poor taste and unbecoming.

You got flamed because you wasted others time. This whole thread has become a waste of time because you still haven't come off why its working for you and that's the point of this forum!

Not, Oh I increased my sales by 300% by doing video proposals and then not explain what you're saying, the points you make, the information you provide and so on. Just saying that you assumed every one knew that already is just a cop out on the members here and is quite insulting toward them to say the least.

Then you said you didn't want to offer to much info upfront for fear of overstepping? Overstepping whom?

Please, no one PM this guy until he starts posting some "real" value around here.

The point of the thread was to point out an option to you. video proposals. When you send a client a power point proposal, why not put it in a video? That is what the point of it was. So Geo, are you already using video for your proposals?

Are you guys saying that you didnt learn anything from this thread???

If I may throw in my 2 cents here...

I am fairly new to the forum but I do understand the importance of giving away value in your posts.

I will not lie, when I read the original post I was like... That's It???

Then as I started to read down through the thread the level of disrespect actually pissed me off.

When you sign up for Warrior Forum there is no disclaimer that says if you post and it is not filled with 110% value then there will be repercussions, one of which means you will be bitched out by tons of other value crazed members.

I honestly find it tasteless and down right disrespectful. It's not worth someone tracking you down and kicking your ass just because you wanted to see a little more value in a post.

I realize that the post was not good but I'm sure if he knew better he would do better.

Karma is a bitch and just because you talk tough on a ****ing forum behind the comfort of a computer screen does not mean that your deeds will go unpunished.

By talking crazily to this man all you've done is alienated yourselves to the point where if you happen to have something of "value" he won't even want to purchase it because all he can remember is your dickheaded-ness

I know we are all entitled to our own opinions and I'm sure some of you don't like mine and if that's you then feel free to imagine yourselves kissing my whole entire caboose!

Thanks! One of the problems with communicating in forums such as this is words don't communicate intent very well. So I felt you were being unjustly accused of something that had not been demonstrated.

And I think you came through with flying colors !

And thanks for making the video available again. I just finished watching/listening to it and it gave me some good ideas on presentations.

Good grief, is it a full moon outside again ... I thought that happened several days ago.

Almost everyone here should step back and get their egos in check before posting again. I've seen no evidence that the OP is doing anything other than what he has said several times. And the pm for a *free* copy of his WSO seems pretty generous. I know darn well that I wouldn't post a llink to a download page in an open forum like this. Maybe the WarRoom though when it is time.

The information that has been presented has been useful, at least to me. Fortunately, I fall in the catagory of being both computer litterate and having studied IM fairly hard in my spare time for the past three+ years and the jargon makes a pretty concise way of stating what is happening.

The sharing of ideas is a good thing. Something I've heard numerous times in the main forum is how it *used* to be with the sharing of valuable information. Maybe encouraging that type of behavior is a good thing with help rather than criticism?

While I respect all the members who posted in this thread so far - I have to say, some of you went too far.

I am not talking about the OP here.

I means it's clear the OP was not the best in terms of value, but metaphorically speaking you guys absolutely ravaged this guy. It wasn't all that bad to take up a whole first page!

Anyway, I likely won't be back here but why don't we try and make something useful of this thread. We've probably got a few highly interested people.

I'd be interested if there was a way of doing this on a larger scale (not doing a video one by one for each prospect - too much time taken). Since that is unlikely, I probably won't stick around much longer in the thread - but lets just let it progress from now. Assuming OP was out there to game us or whatever, I am sure he has now learnt his lesson

    Thanks Casey. This is valuable.

Looks like the proposal has covered all of the important "up front" details.

It does sound like there are a lot of add-ons, though I do understand that some costs were included in the retainer.

So why do you believe this video proposal is more effective than sitting down with your prospect(s) to discuss in person?

        LOL...wow, you guys are hilarious.

Anyhow, my first thought when I read the OP was that you videotaped yourself presenting the proposal to the client.

I guess I assumed that because it has been on my mind a lot. All types of video can be very powerful, but I think it's the personal touch that really helps your prospect to see that you are a real person.

Unsolicited emails can work (and have worked for me) but they are like on the bottom of the list for effectiveness. Meeting in person would be at the top (especially if they are a referral).

Video is almost like meeting in person. The proof of that is that I am sure many of us have made friends over the years from the Warrior Forum...or at least we feel like they are friends because we've seen their videos and so we feel like we know them.

Anyhow, I'm writing this partly for me because I need to start using video more in my marketing, lol

      Casey,

I received a prompt pm with the details you promised. You were not promoting anything. Only giving away a free link with your method. A method that is very valuable, and definitely something to take action for. I am currently in the process of digesting your information. I think that taking the extra time to pm you was well worth.

I do not understand the reason that you can't just post the link right in the forum, but I am not complaining at all. You responded in less than 24 hours of my initial pm to provide some very valuable information. And never once did you try to sell me a thing. I really appreciate what you offer here. And I can most definitely see, even before I am done processing the information, how this can potentially get a person clients if they take action.

Do I know if it works for sure? No...
But I will let everyone know if it works or not for me.

Thanks again Casey, and I would like to just state that I remain neutral in this. I can see both sides of the argument, and I am new to this forum. I have taken a lot of information from here and made a pretty good income on the things I take action on.

When I first read the post I was a little annoyed that the information wasn't there. I was definitely excited to see a sample of what Casey did to be successful, but after pm'ing him. It has more than made up for the lack in the first post. I have seen a lot of invaluable posts and wasted lots of time on this forum just trying to find diamonds in the rough. I have found many diamonds, and I have found a lot of nothing too. It would be ideal to go to every single post and get valuable info, but I must say that however Casey chose to give this information was his choice, and the information is very informative, and in depth. And his reasons for keeping it from the forum, are his reasons. But we all have our opinions...

Okay, don't mean to be repetitive. I am very respectful of everyone that has posted in the forum. John is a great guy. The Value that he adds to this forum is more than anyone else I've seen in my personal experience. And his years of success have helped in more ways than I can list. And when he is saying anything from what I have seen in the past, he is only trying to help. And I'm sure it's the same for some of others that said anything here. I can see why people get mad, because after being on here and seeing so much useless time wasting stuff, it can get pretty frustrating, because it doesn't meet the intentions of the WF.
