Which Contact Management System Is Best?

I've reached the point where my online sites are taking off, I now want to start doing some offline marketing, in the form of direct response advertising. The question I had was which contact management system is best? I'm currently using Getresponse with my list and my list includes home addresses and phone numbers. So is Getresponse fine to use as a offline contact management system?

Which brings me to my next question. How or where can I load up my customer addresses to have them all printed out? So I can send out mail to them. Is there an automated system or service I can pay to have this done for me?

And if anyone knows of any good companies I can use for voice broadcasting, that would also help. Thanks any help would be awesome.

There was just a thread here asking the same thing. Maybe do a search for CRM. There are open source variants like sugarcrm and vtiger. Their are of source many paid subscription based ones as well.

Jason had recommended FREECRM.com on another post. It looks like a good choice, almost too robust!

If you've got a list of addresses already, there are a number of ways you can put that to good use depending on what kind of mailings you want to send out.

You could use that list and merge it with a Word document to print letters or postcards from your computer.

Many online printers will let you upload a list to mail merge with postcards or letters and will do all the printing and mailing for you. I've looked at Click2mail before but haven't used them, but most printers you'll find online offer mailing services too.

Personally, I use SendOutCards to print and mail cards and gifts to my clients and prospects, but you should write out a list of the features you need in a mailing/cms solution then try a few services out to see which works best for you.

    Cheers,

    Steve

Everything is a matter of taste. I've used Insightly and thought is was horrible, others thought it was great. Same holds true for ACT....I have the CD in my desk and it makes a great coaster, but I know others who love it. Best thing to do is try several out and pick the one that may not be the "best" but is the one that you are most comfortable in using.

The idea of a CRM is to make the most of your time and information, if you have a CRM that is a pain in the butt for you to use, it defeats the purpose.

I don't really want to change the topic, but basically if you're a baseball fan... Wordpress is the rookie league, not even AA, not AAA and nowhere close to the majors. Internet marketers love it because of how easy it is to throw up a site. Doesn't mean it is flexible, or even close to ideal in many situations. I expand on it in more detail in the numerous threads that show up in the web design and internet marketing part of the board.

good point, i didn't mean to take it off topic either. will take a look at your threads in the other forums (since getting stuck on the offline board i haven't left yet, lol)

I'm very, very surprised though that you put it that low. Goes against everything I've been reading/learning thus far. Although a WP web designer devotee I respect recently said, "Joomla is a bit more flexible and then Drupal for enterprise level", yet at the same time he (and the WP head guy for that matter) would say: there's nothing they can imagine that they couldn't do via WP?

Put me down as one who likes ACT! I started with it back when it was still a DOS application, and liked the relative ease of using it. I probably should upgrade though .

I did have a client a few years ago though that used the Windows version, and it seemed okay.

      Hey guys,

You're off topic again! Please, read what the thread is all about and get this straight:

CRM stands for Customer Relationship Management while...
CMS stands for Content Management System

      This thread is about CRM!

      Thanks,
      Dan

    Best CRM IMO is:

salesforce ($5 is cheapest) (web) (learning curve has all bells and whistles) (iphone/bb/andr app)
    zoho (web) (free cheapest plan)

    some other options

    nutshell $49 per month (leads/sales/contacts)
    FAT FREE CRM free
    sugarcrm $360 year
ContactMe (has free plan) (organize contacts)
solve360 ($39) (crm and project manager)
freecrm (free) (basic crm, cons: very ugly and pita for importing)
civicrm (free) (alot of nonprofits use, opensource and you need to install)

I just signed up for Insightly and I like it. It's not much to look at. But's it's what I was looking for and I can track my gmail and calendar usage for my offline calls and contacts. I also like the opportunities and projects it lets you create.

I just signed up for Insightly myself. You're right - it's very plain looking. Maybe they should call it Unsightly. We'll see how it works out.

I have vTiger installed on my site, but it's overkill and a little complex for my needs.
