Building a solid 2012 offline marketing strategy plan. What is your opinion about this one ?

I'm happy to post my first message on this helpful board !

I wish to develop an offline marketing business in the town where I live.


My town in Europe :

-50000 habitants + 150000 in 15 suburbs towns around it in a 15-20 kms perimeter.
-Population more rich than the average in the country.
-Very high touristic area.
-10-15 agencies of webdesign, seo ect... but for the most part they don't seems to be very serious (at a first glance at their website).


I have been playing with Market Samurai and I found out in number of searchs :
bedandbreakfast townname 40500 worldwide 27100 local.
bedandbreakfastS townname 22200 worldwide 12100 local.

The competition seems to be OK but it is always difficult to assess it even with the colours of Market Samurai. There is not an exact matching domain ranking in the SERP.

So my idea is to set up a good looking directory specialized in bedandbreakfast in townname which I'll brand like "The Guide of the bed and breakfast in townname" or something similar.

The directory competitors are very old in terms of ergonomy and design or less specific about the area or about the niche (speaking about restaurant hostel ect...)

SO this is the first step of my "empire" strategy , as you can see I still have some big details to decide on. And before to move on the next step I wish that some experts advise me on these questions :

- As bedandbreakfasttownname and bedandbreakfast-townname are not available what is the best in terms of seo ? bedandbreakfastStownname ?
townnamebedandbreakfast ? MYbedandbreakfasttownname ? bedandbreakfastINtownname ?

-I'm ready to invest in a theme or a plugin. I know a bit wordpress but I have very few programming skills so I need something turnkey type.
I saw the woothemes listings and the directorypress.
What do you think of them ? Do you know othre handy solutions ?

-What do you think of the beginning of this strategy ? Have you got some general advices ? Do you think it is better to build a more generalistic directory about accomodation for example ?

- Is it better to have a generalistic directory about for example tourism in the area or to have 5 or 10 different niche directory about tourism ?

-Is directory business still a place to go or at least to begin ?

Every answers will be very useful for me as I want to start in the right direction.
