Making Waves on Facebook!!

Facebook niche CPM marketing!!
I recently found out how to MAKE WAVES ON FACEBOOK FOR 5 dollars!!
This is news to me but I usually don't read about CPC or CPM ads in the offline forum so I figured I would share this with everyone.

Backround:
I teach as a high school chemistry teacher. To make extra money I recently started tutoring SAT material ( 70 / hour ) it's a wealthy community. Like every tutor in the area I immediately got myself on the referral lists from different high school guidance departments. Then proceeded to get the word out by referrals from other students. But I want to get the word out even more. I decided to set up a wordpress site for my service and create a facebook ad geared towards my audience.

This is where it gets juicy...
I could target my audience down to the age - 16/17 year olds, city, Anyone in that demographic that "liked" the local highschools in the area. So on and so forth to a target audience of 1200 people. It's only costing less than 18 cents per thousand people. That's approximately 250 times each person views my ad. Now facebook recently published a statement that said this kind of arbitrage would be reduced due to ad placement and less CTR than there CPC rate but honestly who cares!! If you're an offliner and trying to get the attention of an influential business man or CEO of a local company you could do it dirt cheap. You can also target by things like "works at" in addition to the other things. Imagine you own a local marketing company or wanted to connect with business execs or business pplz in your area. If the company was a small business with 20 people that would cost less than a dollar to make waves on facebook.

You could also get great lead generation for typical clients creating CPM ads. If it only costs you 50 dollars a month to reach x amount of people. I don't care how poor the click through rate is, after your fees you are still making money for your client even if it only generates 10 or so leads a month.

For me this is mind blowing. I know this has been discussed in detail in the CPM / CPA forum but I am an avid reader in the offline forum and I just wanted to share this with you if you aren't already implementing this.

Hmm.. I think I might target local journalists to create a good P.R campaign for my tutoring service. Can someone say Money!!
Hahaha I could get a few months worth of advertising for 50 dollars for a company with less than 100 people.

I write this as Google just Missed Quarterly Reports by 8% according to most analysts. FACEBOOK IS GOING TO RULE DEMOGRAPHIC TARGETING AND THE CPC IS STILL CENTS ON THE DOLLAR TO GOOGLE. GO AFTER IT!!

You really got to the point with that.
I am doing myself the same as exploiting CPM to the fullest but do it in slightly different matter because am doing only online marketing and am targeting high school and college people with education CPA offers...of course need my own twists but am KILLING it with this method.

Hey thanks for the info. I played with FB ads a while back but didn't put too much time into it. The fact that you can target such a precise audience is gold.

This is especially good for lead generation for your clients.

Imagine only having to spend 50 dollars or so a month to target leads. Even if its a hundred or so dollars its a lot less than google for the same leads.

Also, instead of taking time to create an email list that your potential leads may not open. You can just create an add and yoru potential client or lead is guranteed to see it.

I love the fact that you can target your audience with such precision. I gotta try that soon. I really had no idea it was so cheap. I thought it was a lot more expensive.

      @dminorfmajor

The target audience I am targeting is very cheap. So that is important to keep in mind. I am targeting both parents and students. The students are super cheap to target b/c no one else is selling to them i suppose. The parents are a little more expensive but if you target your market down to a city or local area it can get really cheap for CPM ads. Remember even though they suggest a bid doesn't mean you need to make that bid. Also, if you put in your max bid, my experience is that my campaigns run half of that.

***** CHECK OUT TRADA.COM ***** seems like a new startup but you can probably use it on the backend if you do lead generation for offline clients. They don't charge until pay for performance. So you can make some serious cash if you acquire the right clients.
