if you HATE the idea of cold calling, read this

For all you people that don't want to make phone calls

I hate to break it to you, but if your in the Offline Marketing Business
you are going to have to eventually get on the phone, plain and simple.

I hear a ton of People in here complaining how they don't want to
cold calls.

Well you don't have to.

If you can make a mini site, if you can set up words press,
if you can do any half way decent SEO work,

then you can get people to call you.

Another words set up a lead capture page for your self.

( have the capture page email you the info, get them into your funnel, and display your phone number )

These are all service your selling any way, so if your good enough
to sell it as a service, why aren't you doing it for yourself ???

Its cheaper then direct mail, newspaper, magazine adverts.
actually its cheaper then most things.

And if your phone is not ringing enough for you, hire a couple of va's
to get more sites running and ranked.

If that still doesn't get your phone ringing, your off line skill set is lacking
and you should not be selling your services any way.

This is not some crazy out of the box idea, or even a new idea
its just common sense.

When people call you, the conversation is a lot easier, and they are
somewhat pre-sold.

For you guys struggling for your first client, make your self your first client.

Its ridiculously easy, and you will learn while you earn.

In my opinion, if you don't use the phone for business, your not in business.

Your a hobbyist.

    FULL-ON Agreed, Ken!

If you don't want to spend $3000-5000 and 5-6 months on your mystical click-a-tron, hoping that you can avoid calling and probably getting zero results...and if you've got no money and need results NOW...

Then you're gonna have to get on the phone.

I always thought it was more like a 1500 pound gorilla and it was crazy to not notice it and worse very disconcerting to stand right there in the room with it

you might be right. Its too bad.

If people stopped searching for excuses,
and stopped making things so difficult for them selves and others,
everyone on this forum would be making crazy money.

I guess a lot of people would rather argue, and BS, and do nothing.

            Its really a shame.

This is one of those ongoing topics, and heaven knows every time a thread has been started about helping to develop better cold calling skills, the usual cast of characters jump on with posts of better ways to do things. These "better ways" may very well work from time to time under very specific circumstances, but success in sales is about connecting with as many people as possible.

There is no better or faster way to establish a new business than by picking up the phone and calling some suspects, learn if they are prospects, and turn them in to clients.

Every one of us who has made cold calls understands and has the same fears and anxieties as everyone else who insists there is a better way. In talking about cold calling, maybe it comes across as arrogance at times. It's not meant to be that at all. Cold calling is simply the most cost effective to keep a business growing. It's one of the few types of marketing that can be easily implemented and measured. The majority of businesses in the United States consider telemarketing to be an integral part of their marketing effort.

Every business loses approximately 10% of their client base every year through attrition, relocation, and death. A business owner who doesn't take steps every day to build their client base, will, over time, not have a client base at all.

By far this is the funniest thing of the day "In my opinion, if you don't use the phone for business, your not in business. Your a hobbyist." I'm not sure I agree with all of it, but it was good read none the less.

Outsourcing can also be a key preference for many if one hates the idea of cold calling potential clients. Though let's be realistic here, not everyone has a stable budget at present and getting the services of call center reps isn't actually cheap.

It IS easy to give in to the fear and worry and take no action. There's not much risk in taking no action...

...except that you're broke now and you're gonna be broke later.

    Hmm.

    Want a different result?

Don't switch over to "market research" or "improving your website" when you're feeling uncomfortable. Take a deep breath. Keep doing the things you know will eventually bring you clients. It'll happen faster than you think.

Let me give you an example about training. I wish I had known this when I was a little kid--I would have learned how to play the keyboard much sooner, and stuck with sports. It took me until I was in my early 20s to figure this out. You're going to live right? Unless you die. So, the years are going to go by...the time today is going to go by. You can either learn how to do something, like play an instrument, or play soccer, or make prospecting calls. And the time will go by, whether you do something useful to generate revenue or not.

At the end of the day, your procrastination will have seen to it that you got NOTHING for that time...or your effort will ensure that you get RESULTS. The time will pass...if you live. So which conclusion do you want to arrive at?
