UK focussed Yellow Pages scraper

Anyone know of one that works and updates as and when Yell changes something . I have got one Tim Cs version but it keeps not working ie puts wrong post codes (zip codes) in , or just doesnt work full stop.

So any pointers for another one that works for UK,not US cheers

You might take a look at Zolo. I just downloaded the free version and I know that it is customize-able. They have different versions depending on what you want to do with it.

they seem to often change the order and some details are going to be edited by busines owners , just trying to get names addresses, www, tel nos, emails if poss etc mainly for direct mail and phoning

When I tried Zolopages the program was not saving the results to a .xml file.
Did PageRaptor ever get back to you?
I think the difference between Zolopages and PageRaptor is that PageRaptor is for worldwide yellow pages whereas Zolopages is mainly U.S., U.K and Canada

    Hi,

After a quick Google, it seems this page is offering what you are looking for. (not aff link)

PageRaptor – the international webscraper | From webpage to database in one click

It offers a free trial, but I haven't got time in the next couple of days to test it. If you do, could you pop back here and leave your review?

    HTH,
    Andy

Hi Wil yes thanks for the reminder, they did and its OK, I was not doing everything I should have been doing so it works fine and looks good , you have to claim your free lines before doing the list then it will save the free lines

hi ascot at the top theres a small box saying claim free lines (or something) click on that, fill in the small form, theyll email you your code, input that where they tell you and youll be credited accordingly, they dont make it obvious what to do but once you click the right place it makes more sense

Hi there. New member here and all that.
I always wondered why yellow pages are being called yellow pages. I mean except for the obvious.

  • Hoping someone could help. I am looking to scrape yp.com (U.S.) I currently use www dot yellowpagescrapers .com . It works very well but it limits you to scraping 1 state at a time I am looking to do 1 scrape and it will scrape the entire U.S. instead of having to do 50 individual scrapes (one for each state) For example on the homepage of yp.com enter a category- lets say for example “electricians”. I want the software to scrape all the electricians in the U.S. and bring back business name, address, phone, email, website, etc… Please go to the homepage of www dot yellowpagescrapers dot com and read the “recent comments” located on the right side of page. It discusses the security that yp.com has built that blocks IP’s - would need to be able to cycle IP’s-hopefully within the application. Thanks

Not sure if this helps but I've had a number of people recommend Yellabot.

I haven't run it myself but a number of offliners (including JoshP) are saying they've been using it for a while and it's not let them down...

I'm just in the process of trying it myself...

You can view it at Yellabot.com... I'll get back to you once I've tested it.
