    Companies like this produce these.
Whiteboard Video | SwitchBoard Video | Switch Video

Portfolio | Animated Video | Story Vision Video

Off the top of my head I would say that they use actual drawings, flash (for any animated bits, or after effects) and a video editing package. If you have a whiteboard a camera and some editing software and a bit of drawing talent you can produce these yourself.

      Thanks,

I guess you'd put together your sales script, create a "video treatment" and do the recording huh? Something to seriously consider!

      Thanks for your input!

Yah. Draw out all of your parts before hand. Practice drawing them on a whiteboard. Possibly have a camera man to pan/zoom to each part as you draw around the board when you are ready to record.

Also notice most of these are sped up. So you can take your time and make really good drawings (of course practicing them before hand will help) , and then spend them up to match the timing of your script voice over. You're not trying to draw these in real time as you talk. It's all in the pre-planning and pre-production. As usual, the most important thing is having a compelling script first and then interesting drawings second. Good luck. If you try it, post a link. I'd like to see it.

A great example video of this technique can be seen here:
Fat Loss Factor By Dr. Michael Allen and Lori Allen.

You can actually outsource this for much cheaper (than the above posted companies) by finding quality providers on outsourcing websites.

I found a couple on oDesk myself which I planned to use for some offline clients.

    FYI - You're looking at about $1,000+ for a 30-60 second video

    Cheers,
