I am doing my first offline consulting proposal and not sure how to price. Any guidance would be most appreciated

This is for a 4-doc pediatric practice. They are well-regarded and been getting by w/just marketing in the YP. Yet, now they see the referrals from YP are dwindling. I know their YP budget was $3600/yr. They seem $$$ conservative, there's a little in-fighting b/w the partners as to how far to go and are waaaay behind the technology times. We had a good meeting on Friday and they get it now why SEO is important as well as some social media integration.

Here's what I need help pricing:

1. 10 page website
2. web hosting ($50/mo?)
3. local SEO and then monthly maintenance too?
4. FB pages for practice with a tab for each doctor
5. Google Places x5 (1 for practice and 1 for each of 4 docs).

We'll need a photographer for head shots. Do I incorporate that into price or should i just refer them to photographer and they pay on their own?

Thanks in advance for support.

You should give your client options to choose what packages or most their need. I think that will can your clients more be contribute and involved, make them active about their next progress about the goals.

I think you should offer them different packages instead of a la carte. For example, your platinum package could include complete design, hosting, maintenance, seo, FB creation plus content creation, google places plus maintenance, etc. You could charge a set up fee then a high maintenance fee.

Your gold package could be design, hosting, maintenance, lower seo program, fb creation but not management (teach on of the receptionists to admin it), google places.

Then your silver package could be nothing more than creating the site, hosting it, creating the fb page, and doing google places.

As far as pricing, I'm not sure, sorry. I know that is what you asked but I think you need to break down what you would offer in the different packages, what it is going to cost you (even if you are going to do everything pretend that you are hiring outsourcers, it will make it easier to scale your business when the time comes), and the value you are going to offer them.

Here's a great thread on pricing:

Offline Marketers: What services are you offering for monthly fees?

That should give you some ideas.

For offline clients I like to create a bunch of different options for them to choose from.

When you are first starting out and not sure about your pricing - always charge more! You can always discount a price - no client will ever complain if the price gets lowered, but if you accidentally under quote you are screwed.

When pricing for offline clients, I like to be able to give them a comparison so they can see how quickly their investment in my services pays off.

For an average visit to a podiatrist it tends to be $150 - $300. Check out your clients services to see roughly how much money a sale/new customer will be worth to them, both short term (eg 1 month) and long term (most people would end up being repeat customers, so you would then look at their lifetime value).

When I give my quote, I usually pitch it as "just by bringing in an extra X clients per month, your website will have more than paid for itself".

Regardless of what amount you decide to charge, have an easy strategy to explain why it is to their financial benefit long term. It makes it much easier to make the sale when you have a few penny pinchers among your potential clients.
