If you've ever felt like you weren't charging enough, give this a listen:

5by5 | Back to Work #52: Walk the Coastline, Bitches | 'Back to Work' 5by5

Seriousy, it's a MUST-listen.

I won't comment on it until people start confirming that they've listened to this WHOLE thing.

PS - By the way, it's Merlin Mann. (Yep. I'll wait right here.)

PPS - If you're not a fan yet, you're about to be.

Tang, love it and thanks."Half of my work is below poverty wages... I'm not getting better at doing what I'm doing..."

"Your job is how you spend your time."

Too many people are stuck in dead end jobs and can't see a way out perhaps. Fear and undervaluing oneself seems to be a problem. Maybe universities should have a mandatory class on self-confidence and human values or personal values. Don't get me wrong, personal value is not to be mistaken as arrogance.

    Bad client vs good client
The bad client will try to squeeze you out of your energy and time and resources. The thing you can learn from this is to stand up for yourself and your expertise. It is times like this, you can be thankful for the good clients, and use that positive energy to channel back a good comeback to the bad client. Don't be afraid to say NO, the most indirect way to say no is to say "I'll get back to you on that." Then go away and draft a list of charges for your 'other services' and slap it at the bad client the next day and say that it is company policy or something along the lines.

I've explained how to price your solution and create value in your prospect's mind.

It's been posted on this forum many times. But let's send some traffic to John Durham's telemarketing forum--which some people might not know about. The post is here.

This method works for anything. Just substitute "SEO" for "website".

Remember, the prospect does not CARE about "SEO" or any other technical thing about your solution. All they care about are RESULTS.

Reading Jasons posts are often like listening to the same old record playing over and over, fortunately his oldies are also goodies. Very good post on the tm forum.

    Gee thanks Eddie.

There are always NEW people on the forum.

Also, not everyone reads every post. Many miss things and need to see it a bunch of times.

How many times have you seen a "How do I price this?" question?
