useful data & statistics about local marketing
I'm currently writing a book about local marketing to publish on the Kindle store as a way of gaining credibility in the eyes of potential clients (I'm 19 and some have seemed doubtful about my expertise).
I thought it would be helpful to include some data & statistics in the book, things like the percentage of people who use their mobiles to find local businesses, the effect of having a lead capture form on your site, stats on Facebook advertising, etc. You know, anything that might be good for convincing a potential client that what you can provide will help them.
Forgive me if this thread has already been done - I couldn't find it anywhere - but I think it would be useful if we each contributed some facts, as long as they can be verified by some sort of study. Not only is it good for business owners to hear this stuff, but I know some of us can get disheartened by our results and think that the market is saturated, when it really isn't (well I know I have anyway!)
I'll start it off with this article about the number of people who use search engines to find local businesses:
Most People Rely on Search Engines to Find Local Businesses [Study] - Search Engine Watch (#SEW)
what encouraging data do you have?
