Accepting Payment Over the Phone?

Hey guys,
So I got another sale today! Anyhow, this lady is very interested and willing to pay the $397, however she would like to pay over the phone with credit card. She does not have e-mail, and this is her only payment method. I can't just take her credit card over the phone and charge it, as I believe that would be related to Credit Card Fraud..

Any help would be greatly appreciated

You need to get a good merchant facility so you can accept CC payments over the phone. It is not card fraud and is done every day in business

  Yes as Quentin says you need a good merchant card proecessor. I've been taking orders on the phone for years and never had a problem.
  
  Although I use Paypal for my online sites, I've found most business owners don't use Paypal and feel more comfortable giving you a credit card.

If you go to the thread... How do I accept credit cards if I run a mobile B2B business? gman5432 you will be given a choice of answers.

Do some research to check out which of those solution would suit your business and your problem should be solved.

I'd suggest having a BACK UP if you are using paypal... Paypal is starting to place web design and "intangible" services as high risk and 21 day holds on the accounts.

Get a REAL merchant account. iPayment is good. Anything that uses the authorize.net gateway is a good one.

I agree. It's good to have more than one payment option. Merchant accounts are easier than they used to be if you are doing online marketing.
