How I Rent My Own Sites Out

I actually just use the "middle men" and leverage their trust

Work smarter not harder, right?

What do I mean?

Well... why convince a protective business owner what you have is legit, when you can just have someone they already trust and have a relationship with, do it for you?

Have a plumbing site? Think plumbers merchant.

If they hear about you from someone they already trust, that's one hell of a barrier removed for you already.

Other niches? Well, you might have to think for yourself but feel free to apply the same fundamental principle

In fact, by speaking to these "middle men" you never know what other business it might lead to. I was asked to do SEO on 5 sites as a result of speaking to one guy who was well connected in their niche.

Hope this was useful in some way. I have , in my opinion, seen an increase in what you could conceptually call "junk" threads recently.

Great tip. It all comes down to actually speaking with people. That's the easiest way to get clients. Pretty plain and simple, but often forgotten.

This is also a great example of thinking outside of the box and making it work for you.

I'm confused about the title and content in this post. What do you mean by Rent your sites out? You mentioned getting clients and doing SEO, but I didn't understand the renting of your site?

I've got numerous websites under my belt, some of which are niche markets and service related... is this what you're referring to? Renting niche service websites out for leads or what?

Sorry if I'm simply confused, just browsing the forums looking for new ideas.

I'm not sure what got you confused but I create, rank and rent sites that I own in niches worth being in.

Sometimes as a result of speaking to the middle men I get SEO clients, as in people they know who want my services for their own sites.

So I have read this post like three times, haha, but something is still amiss. I know you are saying that if someone else recommends you, the plumber (or whatever niche) will be more keen to use your services.

But what do you mean, exactly, but "plumbers merchant"?

I THINK he means someone that THEY the plumber buys from. So a plumbing supply store ? or maybe the tool truck guy that auto mechanics buy tools from. I could be way off though. I would think there would have to be some kind of incentive for the middle man unless your just a bad ass salesman.

Plumbers merchant is just someone a plumber would go to in order to buy their supplies.

Last plumbers merchant I spoke to asked me to make an ecommerce for HIS business just because I sounded like an expert on internet marketing. Not bad for a 3 minute call.

He also put me in touch with people I needed to speak to. Sorry, I mean "recommended". He didn't want an incentive, I did offer him one. As it was a tradesman niche, I was genuine and down to earth.

Know the market you are talking to and for god's sake don't be static - use a bit of lateral thinking if you want to do well in anything yet alone renting sites out.

Do you have your clients sign an agreement form?

Where could I get one? I figured it's best to protect ourselves legally.

    Thanks Steve, good tip.

Yep, they are far more likely to listen to someone they already know.

Just a couple of quick questions.

1/ Do you leave your cards or a flyer with the "middle man" to pass around to people he
knows, so they can then get in touch with you ?

2/ do you give the "middle man" a commission or any sort of incentive ?

Take good care of those that you love.

How can you possible rent out a site? Do you design it and then manage it for a monthly fee? I am very confused.

How can you possible rent out a site? Do you design it and then manage it for a monthly fee? I am very confused.

      1) You register a domain (BirminghamPlumber.com)
      2) Build a "generic" website (Jack Mize has a Sample site showing how he sets up his "Rental" Sites... it's just a 1-pager designing to gather LEADS;
Houston Discount Roofing Contractors - Emergency Roof Repairs 713-242-1651)

      3) Contact local Roofers either by phone, email or PostCard....letting them know 2 things;
      a) This website is available for Rent
      b) We are contacting 10 local Roofers. 1st one who wants it, gets it

And...instead of using the Renters phone #....you use a # that colllects numbers (for your proof of calls) (There's 2 services that do this. Sorry, I'd have to look them up)....and re-directs the call to the Renter. This is so that when the Renter decides to stop renting...you simply re-direct to the new renters phone.

In fact...I know of 2 guys who are NOT charging a rental fee. They charge a "Fee Per Call". 1 guy does this for Car Dealers and gets $15 every time someone calls one of HIS numbers.

Another guy gets $50 per call from dentists. He mails a PostCard to "New Movers" offering "FREE Teeth whitening" from his participating dentists. Gets an average of 20 NEW Patients a month for each dentist (20 x $50 = $1,000/mo x 30 dentists (thus far) = $30,000 A MONTH just for mailing out some PostCards)

Don Alm....thinking I should take a closer look at the "Dentist" program

Could you post the dentistry site? would be a great case study. Does this person have a WSO?

The 30 dentists you mentioned, do you mean he has 30 separate sites rented by 30 different dentists?

Pay per lead is something I'm contemplating, I'd have to see the call volume first before deciding how to charge. If the call volume is significant, then charging per lead is obviously more lucrative. However there are more headaches and tracking issues to do it this way (leads) but for that stark difference in earnings, it's likely worth it.
