Any idea how to generate leads for a property and casualty insurance guy?

So I've got a bit of experience setting health insurance leads and leads for offline guys like us.

Today I got an e-mail from an insurance guy asking of I can set P&C leads. I had to google what P&C was. Turns out it stands for property and casualty. I told him I'd have to get back to him.

Does anyone have any clue how often P&C leads come in if you're telemarketing? What about a point in the right direction for what a decent script might look like?

It's gonna be weird straying from my health insurance script that gets me 1-2 leads an hour and starting over with a whole new thing, but this guy wants about $1,000 a month in leads. I'm not about to pass that up without learning a bit more.

thanks in advance.

    Hey Marc,

I'm by no means an expert in this area, but my initial reaction is to suggest that your script for setting the health insurance leads holds the key for the P&C leads. Both deal with insurance, both deal with people wanting to protect what they have and insure against loss.

    Hope this helps.

Property and casualty means anything having to do with ownership. So the insurance against the loss of personal property or business property. You can either go for people that want to protect their homes, cars or personal property. Or business owners looking to protect their businesses against loss or theft.

Just wondering what approach do you take with the health insurance leads script?

I'm thinking you could write a script offering a better quote. Approach home owners, business owners, and anyone owning a car.

I'd be interested to get info on your current insurance script as I am getting into life and health now.

    Let me know,

    Thanks,
    Joe

Have you explored PPC? No matter what the niche, that seems to be an easy and fast way to test a method to get fast leads and in many instances it is successful ... it is worth a shot, I think ...

More factors need to be considered developing a telemarketing campaign for P&C than health insurance.

Is he looking for personal lines leads for auto, homeowners, renters, etc. or commercial leads for commercial general liability, property, workers comp, etc?

Especially with commercial, you'll want to consider whether the agent is exclusive or an independent agent/broker.

A good landing page with a few steps can qualify them accordingly though, couldn't it? Just thinking of how to make it work with PPC while still allowing the leads to be as targeted as possible ...

Yes, it could. There is a huge demand for quality lead source for agents and brokers. Most agents and brokers have not had good experiences with internet based leads.

Not sure if this is of any value to you. However, many moons ago I did some sales training with Prudential (remember a piece of the rock)? Anyway, they taught their agents to do what is called EX-DATING. Basically when you are telemarketing, you would ask for the renewal date of the prospects policy. Then you would diarize it, and call that prospect a few weeks before the expiry/renewal of their current policy and at that point try and get them to do a review with you.

Not sure if this helps, but it may spawn other ideas at the least!

        Hi Marc,

I just visited your $250 appointment setting package page for Offliners.

I'm curious if you charge the same amount for Health Insurance appointment packages?

        Thanks.

You would have to get detailed info from the agent about what type of leads he wants so you can get your 'qualifying questions' together. I don't see why this wouldn't work with telemarketing. When I generated leads for insurance agents I asked them what type of questions they NEEDED answered to consider someone a good lead..age group, how long they've owned their home, do they have a current policy,etc..

I don't do ppc, but I don't see why it wouldn't work. Does he have a website? Put up a form for ppl to fill out for a free quote and drive traffic to the site.

This may be a little far out of your realm,
but it does get a high return on investment...

that investment requires money, not time on the phone.

Consistently returns a 5 to 1 return on it.

Have a look, see what you think.

Thanks for showing me the great way to generate leads for insurance, I would try this method for sure as I believe that these two steps formula is helpful as you are taking help of magazine and news paper.

However, I am right now using text messaging method where I have to take help of third party for data and tool and the it converts good because I'm able to send automated SMSs to relevant clients at less cost, I have ween using How to generate Insurance Leads Instantly from last two months and it built good confidence in me, I'm exploring more into text messaging to do better, as most of the marketers are using email marketing, telephone etc. so sending SMS involves less competition here.

That'd be awesome if we had something like that in the U.S.
