Need some advise so I don't give my client wrong advise.

I have a local client that makes unique wooden items. I am working on finding the best way for him to take his business online.

Unique wood crafts and wood gifts etc are very competitive terms. (Lots of searches and lots of competition) I want to eventualy work towards SEO but that will be long term.

I am wondering where the best place online is to get him some good results quicker than SEO.

The local town is to small for him to sell much so local keywords are out.

I have tried... "larger town name+wood craft related keywords" in keyword tools with no solid results yet... meaning no results which means no one is searching local keywords for this type of thing.

I have thought of using amazon but I need to know how to get him showing good on the Amazon results.

Does anyone know of some "good" info on selling physical products on sites like Amazon?

I also found "ETSY" But figured it is like other advertising... works better if you know the inside tricks.

This client is a bit different for me than most local offline stuff that I work on because really it is national.

Any helpful suggestions are welcome.

I care about my clients and don't want to push them towards advertising that won't help them.
