  • A Dolce & Gabanna suit...

No, really, some of you are overthinking this way too much. You need to get the appointments first before worrying about it, and even then, I have gone in wearing jeans and a T-shirt for thousand dollar sales. It isn't what you wear, it is what you can do that matters.
  • You mean clothes?

  • Wear some khaki pants and a button up shirt. Plain and simple.

Don't over think it or let it slow you down.

Now that you have your answer, whats your next step?

    Keep on keepin on,

  • It depends on what type of businesses you are going to and what you are trying to sell them. If you are going to a business to sell them a $100,000 web marketing package you better look like you have done it before. If you are headed down to the local mom and pop store to convince them to spend $500 on a starter website, you can dress business casual, wearing a suit might scare them off!

    • I think this is top advice! Take it! Dress appropriately for every situation.
  • Wear anything decent and plain... Just avoid shirts, short pants, and rubber shoes...
  • Kudos from one braniac to another.
  • As long as you don't look like a bum, you'll be ok. You can't never go wrong with a suit though, ever.
  • Thank you for all your advice ok I am a new mobile marketer I do mobile websites so my minimum charge would be £500. Do you think casual cloths would be ok for mobile marketers?

  • Yes I think casual with a hint of dressy will work fine. WWTCD. What Would Tom Cruise Do. I'm kidding, but seriously, you're overthinking it. Look casual/dressy and get out there and you'll be fine.
  • Thank you for all your advice ok I am a new computer marketer I do computer websites so my minimum charge would be £1000. Do you think casual cloths would be ok for computer marketers?
  • Walk into any business in my area wearing a suit, the first
thing they will do is hide the kids and the checkbook - all
while mumbling something about "Damned Yankees."

    • Totally agree. Too many professions wear suits now that devalue what it means to wear a suit. Make sense? For example, car salesmen and Enterprise rent-a-car employees wear suits to sell cars and rent cars.

If you are selling SEO services or websites there is no need to wear a suit. I feel like it makes you look like you are trying to hard. Plus, your meetings will be with blue collar workers who will most likely be wearing their work clothes. By wearing a suit you might even intimidate them.

I have not been in one situation yet where I felt under or over dressed by wearing nice khakis and a button up shirt.

    • Only thing that would make it worse is carrying a clipboard!

Kaki pants or stylish black jeans and either a polo with logo or button down has done me well.

In my city, suit = salesperson...dressy sexy casual = fellow business owner (sale)

  • dress clean and look clean. Do not roll in looking shaggy but at the same time dont overdo it
  • Yeah, as Frank Kern would always say....Put on your costume...Dress the character as what type of services you are selling. If it's just mobile...stylish casual would do. Now, if you were going in to land a 6 figure client and rockin' stylish casual, you better bring your A game on your sales presentation.

  • I think it depends on who you are pitching but in most cases a polo and somc slacks work fine. I would avoid jeans in most cases, same with t-shirts. Suits might be needed for soem high end deals but I honestly wouldn't wear a suit to those either. They expect you to kiss their ass. Don't! Show them why they need you and dress as if you understand you are above their "suit" world.
  • When I do wear a suit jacket its usually over jeans and t-shirt or a golf/polo shirt. I'm not a suit and tie guy for anything... (except my wedding - and i protested that)
  • Wear what is considered respectable in your country and present the best of you.

Dont listent to the advice on what to wear. It all depends on where you are.
  • Now a days there are many people like to wear the fashionable cloths and according to me you can get the best cloths in online. There are some great collection of cloths you can watch.
