Rent-a-Site Marketers - Tracking Call Volume With VNumbers?

For those of you that are leasing out virtual real estate to local businesses, is it fairly easy to track call volume with VNumbers?

I am considering signing up for their service, and will need multiple numbers to accommodate multiple sites in an effort to track call volume for 30 days. I was wondering how you go about tracking call volume (by way of vumbermail?)?

Also, if I forward all calls to local businesses, will I still be able to track call volume?

Any additional info. is appreciated.

Thanks.

    I use CallFire.com
It's cheaper, it records the calls, so you have proof. Plus all kinds of neat stuff.

I second this, callfire is sweet.

Had a weird phone call that got recorded as well, at first it feels so funny listening in to the calls to verify they were leads.

So going over CallFire site how does the pricing work exactly? So it costs $1/month (paid for 3 months at sign up) to a get a local number + $0.05 cent a minute correct? Is there a monthly fee to forwarding that local number?

So if I setup 1 number for one of my sites and that site got like 10 calls in 1 month and each call lasted 2 minutes then for that month my cost is $1 + $1 for the minutes usage so total of $2? The phone conversations are recorded and everything is tracked as far as the originating number and where it was forwarded to?

      Is that correct?

Thanks, gecko1. I am browsing their site now. Some of it is a little confusing, but it looks like it may be a more cost-effective choice for our needs.

Do they have the option to give the callers a disconnect message and still show you the volume of calls for proof?

Not sure I understand the question -

Call fire tracks all of the calls, recordings, etc.

I noticed VNumbers gives you a handful of options as to how you want to handle your incoming calls. One of those options was to have a recording play, stating that the number has been disconnected. Although, if I can have those calls go straight to voice mail to better gauge the purpose of the call, that would certainly be better.

    Skype request sent.

Ah gotcha, well - I have only used call-fire for a couple of weeks (was on twilio / open vbx) , and I haven't dove into any of the real intricacies as that. I just have the number forwarded / recorded , etc.

From what I have heard, call fire has a good support system, they would be able to answer any of your questions, it's free to sign up. The one trouble tick I sent up, was answered the same day ( I sent in morning, got a response in the evening).

I'll confirm later this afternoon / evening.

    Thanks, Ryan.

When you forward your calls to voice mail, are you forwarding them to a virtual box (provided by callfire), or are you forwarding them to one your personal lines?

        It's called testing*

It takes maybe an hour of my time, and $20 bucks to have everything in place. I can afford that loss if it never happens, at the minimum, I have nice sales tools to show the next guys "see what I did? I can do that for you" when I approach them on the front in.

1000 ways to skin a cat.

I like to try different methods to up my closing rates.

I am just forwarding them to actual businesses, after a couple of "free" leads, I am calling and closing. If not, then I will go to their competitor and show what I did (recordings are the key) and close them. Because the nature of my niche, I would feel guilty if I just sent them to a vmail, they need someone on the phone and fast.

Oh, I see. So, are you contacting these businesses, beforehand, to tell them that you will be sending them leads? If so, how do they know that the leads are coming from you (with virtual number caller ID?)? Do you ever encounter any opposition and/or skepticism when you tell them that you are helping their business for nothing, or do you tell them, outright, that you are hoping that they will subscribe to your service? What kind of responses are you getting from business owners with this method?

Nope this is what I do:

Figure out the niche - f
          Rank sniper style site
          Get local phone number
Qualify businesses that I would assume would want more leads (i.e. paying for advertising and not on the first page of goole).
Send free leads (record through call fire)
Check call recording for verified lead
Call, share, close. If not move on.

In the mean time while that site ranks , I clone the sniper site (same niche) new city, rank another , so my rankings are showing up staggered, started 10 days ago, I have 2 sniper sites ranked in two cities, with a video for one city, all for the keyword. Something I am testing out. Still haven't closed anyone this way.

My theory is: I sent them free leads already, I can verify I did, I can tell them I can keep sending the leads, not for free anymore, easy decision for them to say yes (IM MY MIND!), I have already done all of the hard work. So sort of reverse engineering.

I'll have 3 of these sites ranked by these weekend, and phones calls already being made, and contacting the business and trying to close. It's something I testing out myself.

The first site took about hour and and a half of my time, Second site like 20 minutes since I cloned the first one. I can rinse and repeat.

Okay, I think I get the gist of what you're doing - which is pretty much on par with what I am wanting to do (with a few twists regarding how you're sending out leads). I'm still not sure what you mean by 'recording' your calls. Surely you don't mean that you are recording the actual conversations?

So, you're having trouble closing? Have you tried direct mail with follow-up calls?

    Thanks, again.

I already use direct mail to gain SEO clients. This is just something new I am trying out. Testing out different things, since it is not a huge waste of time, doesn't take me long to do, I can afford it to not work, as I already have other campaigns to gain clients, etc. (as well as have clients)

Call fire will record the conversation, so I got a local number through call fire, I forward it to the business, that call is recorded.

I haven't tried to close anyone yet, this "theory" is right in the middle of being worked

Yeah. The reason I ask is not to advise you, but because I am curious and am learning myself.

I was thinking that direct mail campaigns with follow-up calls might work best for this method...but I really do not know. I won't know until I get to that point - except by what others say.

I am surprised that you are able to record the conversations. I would have thought that this would be illegal without notifying the caller that the call was being recorded - but I am not a lawyer. However, if I was a business owner, and you called me, I would not feel comfortable at all if you told me that you had been listening to my calls - whether you had leads or not. But, that's just me.

You have definitely given me some things to think about.

By the way, you still haven't accepted my Skype request. You sent me a PM about it, but I cannot respond with this account - yet. Sorry. I would definitely be interested in brainstorming with you and your other contacts.

With CallFire is any local number for $1/mo plus the minute usage.

Can't remember the per minute cost but it's nothing compared to
what you are going to earn.

What I like about CF is that it has the option to record the calls, and you
can also download the excel file of all the calls so you have a spreadsheet.

I think you can download the recordings as well but don't hold me to it.

Another neat thing about CF is that if you are planing to prove give to your future
client that you ARE sending them calls. There is a feature called whisper which is a voice
that says whatever you want before the call is forwarded and answered by your client so it's like this:

Lead calls CF number -> CF forwards the call to your client ->
Client answers the pone -> The whisper features says: LEAD FROM GECKO!, then the call is connected,
and the lead talks to your client. (oh and all this has the option to be recorded) It's a great service, I love it.

So you can offer a day or so of free lead calls, after that, they are hooked! easy sale baby.

Thanks for that information. I will be using them for my rental site for sure.

So a quick question as far as your rental sites go how do you setup your site and what sort of Call to Action (CTA) do you have there to get the visitors that land on your site call the number on your site?

Do you have your site done in a generic way that it a normal site for that niche (i.e. dentist, plumber, chiropractor.etc.), have a good CTA and a contact form as well?

Do you use any of the templates sold here as a WSO or do you do your own theme?

Any suggestions on how to improve a rental site to increase more leads?

        Yes,
It's very simple to set up and works perfectly. Callfire is awesome. You can type in whatever you want them to hear when they answer. I have them hear "this call is courtesy of my company name." it's all completely trackable and very easy to use.
