How much would it cost to completely outsource low competition SEO?

I am a web designer looking to completely outsource ongoing SEO. But I do it locally, in a town of 150k, so from what I hear, ranking highly in the SERPS shouldn't require too much effort.

Ideas on the cost to outsource this?

No one can say, for sure. Aside from competition and keyword difficulty, it will depend on who you hire and what kind of links you're after. Easy, local markets may rank immediately (assuming all on-site SEO has been performed correctly with EMD etc.). On the other hand, some folks need backlinks to rank and are able to do so with a handful of fiverr gigs. More competitive markets/keywords may required customized campaigns that take weeks and/or months to yield acceptable results. Maintenance should be minimal unless you are in a competitive market.

If you are going to hire an Indian or a Filipino, you can usually pay them around $300/month to do what you want them to do particularly in SEO maintenance.

See, I have done that. I have done a handful of fiverr gigs and some manual links for a site myself, but still it only gets to page 3 in my 150k town. This whole SEO thing really seems so shady that it's hard to know how much time and effort required to get anything specific done.

It depends on what type of business you want to rank. Lawyers or dentists will be tougher even in towns of 150k. Also, is your site well optimized?

Let's say, you want to rank a roofing contractor in your town. $500-$1000, would be a fair number to charge. But that's for top 3 positions.

With $200-$300 marketing budget, it might take you 3-5 months to get there, but it's very doable.

If I may, what type of business are you trying to rank?

It's not so much the size of the city, what if 10 really good SEO people are all going for the same keyword in that city, that is stiff competition. IN theory a city of 150K should be easy to rank for.

I have an outsourcer for social bookmarking + links + high PR links, he usually runs it in that order, I am sure if your on-page is good, he could rank you fairly quickly.

Also, you could easily get it done for about 5-10 bucks per keyword on fiverr.

I just ranked a couple of sniper sites in a city of 700K for "emergency niche + city" and a video, spending about $20 bucks total on fiverr (including a video being made and ranking it). I have on the first page 1) a video 2) lead gen site .. this took under 7 days from buying the domain to rankings.

Even though there is 700K in that city, and a "seemingly competitive niche" , no one was optimized well for the keyword.

So, do not base it on the size of the city.

What's the quality of these fiverr videos? Would the business owner be embarrassed to be associated with them? Do they say anything USEFUL, do they emphasize the point of difference of the business or do they just speak in generalities ("Cleaning your rug is IMPORTANT!") or is this just a Google placeholder-type strategy?

The videos are awesome for $5. It's an "emergency" niche, so it plays on that emotion of needing something now, I have my own "copy" in the video, the videos are HD. I have one video on my sniper site hosted on s3, then the other on a youtube channel (this is the one I ranked, so I have 2 separate videos).

The sniper site was built using OP, so it looks sharp and has been doing it's job. This is just a new hybrid model I am testing, I have yet to contact anyone as the rankings are brand new. I intend to give it a few weeks in the SERPS, and I can approach with complete data i.e. This number was called x-amount of times, etc. with some twists.

I usually just pitch SEO + GP then upsell to various services, but I wanted to try a different approach and test out some of my own strategies.

This is similar to what I am going for - 1 rental site/page and 1 video - so, two spots on the first page for each client, offering more value.

If you're going to be using video, though, I wouldn't even bother with a sales copy unless you are performing client acquisition post ranking. Honestly, your video should be either one of two types:

          1. Quick informative video explaining how to contact your client (web address, phone number and physical address) - and nothing else! The 'why you should work with us' part should be put in the description (as well as contact info., repeated).

          2. Hire a fiverr gig and have a real person sit in front of their camera to give a seemingly real, honest review of the product or service that your client is offering (whether they have ever used it/them or not). People want real reviews from real people - they will always sell the best.

Contrary to the above, if you are performing client acquisition post ranking (as I intend to do), then you will probably want some sort of sales copy - most certainly, keeping it generalized. The whole point in this case is to provide exposure and a method of contact to generate leads.

          Just my opinion.

The one ranked is the "CTA Video" - The one on the page is the "general type video" that plays on the emotion of the emergency.

I will split test a personal testimonial video down the road. Seems like we are doing something along the same lines.

Sorry to OP for thread hijack.

It really depends on from what region you are hiring. If you are looking for low cost solution, go for South Asian region, you will get real cheap rate there. Within that region, I recommend an Indian as there are some great SEO people out there.

I would suggest that make a plan for this, gather all the information that are given to you then implement them one by one, hire someone that is good in the field whether an asian or indian or an american as long as it can do the job. But if you are cutting the cost down then hire someone remotely, there are tons of talented people out there.

If you are going to outsource your projects then outsource it to India. Because in India the cost of the project is also very low and they will put 100% in their work. So only India is getting many outsourcing projects.

There is no secret formula for calculating how much a small business should pay for SEO services. In some cases, a $300 a month campaign may be okay. And on the other hand, SEO campaigns customized for an individual business are more typically in the 4 figure per month range. But, in all cases beware of low cost, one size fits all cookie cutter offerings.

Your SEO can be alot cheaper if you know SEO yourself.

What i mean by that is if you know what essentials are required to get your sites ranking in your particular area then you can hire someone to do only those tasks.

Many of the outsourcing SEO services tend to overkill on the amount of backlinks when in many cases all you need to rank well for local businesses is a few solid citations and on point on page SEO.

This is obviously all relative to the competition you are hoping to outrank, but in saying that if you know SEO then its easy for you to make that type of judgement as to what's required and what isnt.

Some places i like to look are in the warrior for hire section, or directly contact an offline marketer who is doing well, build a relationship on Skype, and then ask for their outsourcers

Try to outsource it to asian countries because they are pretty good at this stuff.
