If you offer a service that's highly applicable and focused on a particular niche, direct mail can really work well even in small quantities (100+)

I offer services related to the home improvement/remodeling industry and I've gotten great response for years mailing to various contractors around the nation.

Do you mean use direct mail to get SEO clients or using direct mail FOR your clients...?

I sent out about 20 (to get seo clients) and will send out a good 25 today. I plan on following up with 20 tomorrow and the rest on Monday or Tuesday. So, no results yet but hopefully I'll get some or learn something valuable.

Direct mail is working very well for me. The only problem is that my Direct mail is fairly work intensive. I have VA's doing it now but still it takes them a while. Plus they then have to send me back the work and then i have to print it up and package it. I am about to get a laser printer which will save me a crap load of time which is the main factor for me getting one. But also the quality is a lot better which is also another benefit.

Direct mail is really good option. Its cost effective considering the ROI. And that with my VA's doing the work. I know getting a laser printer will cost a lot more due to ink costing a shed load more. But the time saving will pay for that.

Having been involved with direct mail for 20+ years ... I've seen many changes. Personally, I think you have to be more original and stand out more. Both on a business to business (B2B) mailing as well as business to consumer (B2C) too.

Have had success lately with B2B mailings that are very small, like 20, 50, 100 pieces, which are highly personalized and targeted. Contain no hype. THAT seems to get the BEST response.
