Local customer wants to sell music online - Wordpress plugin?

I have a local customer who's a songwriter and performer and he wants to sell his music on his website.

I'd like to use Wordpress and I know there are shopping carts for it, but are there any that do the following? This is the short list he gave me.

1. Song "shorts" will be on a radio button, 20 - 30 seconds of each of the 12 songs to preview, then

2. If they want the full song, it can be purchased. Full song versions can't be downloaded before purchase.

3. If they like the "shorts" and want the entire album, it can be purchased.

4. A last option is to purchase accompanyment only renditions of each of the songs for vocal performance capabilities.

So basically, he wants people to be able to hear a short part of the song and then purchase it (sort of like iTunes I guess). Has anyone used a wordpress shopping cart to do something like this?

Thanks.

Mike

WooCommerce (free) + jPlayer product sampler ($20 USD) may be something that can work for you and your client.

I'm coming to you live from Austin, TX. I've dealt with a lot of digital content and worked with some sound artists and digital sound producers in the past. And you have picked the hardest, least-secure way of selling music. I have seen it fail several times.

There are a ton of services - AudioSparx, Payloadz, myspace mytunesplus (don't laugh, they added a million users last month), Soundcast, etc. that are designed to help sell and market music.

By building this person 'an ecommerce website' you are going to end up having to solve from scratch a lot of already-solved problems. My advice is to research and help him use the best hosted/saas options, and then charge your local customer to promote, socialize, and market his song content through social media and a non e-commerce website/blog.

Bandcamp is nice too. All of my friends bands sell their tunes there.

Why not just use iTunes. If your page is wide enough, you can iframe the way it looks on iTunes onto the website. Then you'll have what you want on the page. Unless you're trying to sell shirts and other equipment. But people are already used to buying music from itunes directly, it's the standard for most people who actually buy music.

    iframing itunes:
    *****<IFRAME SRC="http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/country-woman/id294141871" WIDTH="1050px" HEIGHT="1310px" FRAMEBORDER="0" </IFRAME>*****

Found this code on a website somewhere and saved it to my mac, so this is what I found on the website. Hope this helps.

Their music might already be online.
Just ask them what music sites they belong to.
Sites like Reverbnation.com offer widgets to put into your site for music.
