Using Google Maps to get your leads? Here's a quick tip!

Hey everyone! I just wanted to share a quick tip to help you gather leads using Google Maps more seamlessly. If you go through calls page by page, while intaking the business information, then this method isn't for you. If you gather numbers, dial after dial, and don't use much of the information on each listing for your call, then this should make things a little bit easier.

When pulling leads, it can get a bit time consuming (any time spent gathering numbers, and not dialing, is precious!) copy & pasting page by page, to build your list. Try this:

1. Go to: maps.google.com/m
(Sorry, I can't link yet due to my post count! )
~This will activate the mobile version of maps, which will take off *some* unnecessary information and most importantly, give you the ability to highlight and scroll endlessly! Considering this was designed for mobile, there is no page changes. No stopping before ads, no back and forth screen flipping to your text editor. Fast and seamless highlight, copy, and paste!

2. Near the bottom of the selections, you will see 'Enter a location' in normal black text. It should be under 'Attractions'. Click on it! Where the box pops up around 5 lines down from the top, above the update button, enter the city. It's much better to do this, than to search the keyword + city because it saves history, which will interfere and mess with your results considering you are browsing from a desktop.

3. Search for your keyword in the top box!
~ i.e. Dentist, Accident Attorney, Florist, Pizza Parlor

4. Highlight at the beginning of the first listing, and SCROLL SCROLL SCROLL!
~ If you are scrolling with a mouse wheel, keep your other fingers hovering over Ctrl + C. That way, you can steadily copy what your are highlighting, in case of a freak accident where your mouse clicks off and you lose your giant highlighted list. You'll have it already copied! Success!

5. Paste this vast list into your favorite text editor. Most text editors will allow you to do this next trick, though I'm sure some do not. So please don't hold this against me! Highlight the area code of the city you are searching in, for example Boise is: (208). Bold it, then copy it! Paste it in the 'Replace' feature of your text editor, and type the area code unbolded, in the original text. Replace it! This will make all Phone numbers stand out just a little bit, that way you don't have to strain your eyes as you'll have a bunch of text jumbled around the screen.

VOILA!

This will help you create a vast list of leads, with the Phone Numbers visible for you to dial away!

Now get dial'n!

Luke
