How would you capitalize on a business expo?

If you were to participate in a business expo... how would you capitalize on the event and show off to other business owners you know your ish?

The expo is mainly BUSINESSES showing THEIR businesses to consumers... but I'm wondering if I can flip the script and target all of the businesses there.

One thing is have a business card. How I am is I stick to what I know, My sweet spots are SEO, Web Design, and how Google works. Once I can get the prospect interested in Google I know I have a potential client and what I love about Real estate agents is they'll tell their friends, I now have clients that are lawyers and few in produce.

My advice find your sweet spot and bring the client to your sweet spot. If you're knowledgeable about Email marketing talk try to bring the subject in question to email marketing if your an SEO expert try to bring the conversation there once there hand them a card. Honestly it gets easier and easier every time in fact now I get kind of rush out of the whole experience. All it takes is one loud mouth to bring you the big clients.

Try not to just look for the big clients start small talk to people mix and mingle, if there's someone standing all alone talk to that person you never know. I remember when I just started the first person I ran into was the person who was running the expo of-course when I found this out I was embarrassed because I was rookie trying to sell them my services but what was so great about the whole experience was that they took me seriously and even took my business card this person allowed me to present myself to him and he was a multi millionaire. My advice is be an expert at something online get yourself a business card and go out there and network!

      Hey Sure shot.

Thank you kindly for the response. I wasn't as clear as I should have been in the original post. I mean in terms of having a BOOTH at an expo.

How can you really effectively display e-mail marketing, sms, google rankings without a whole bunch of boring images and mind maps?

I'm thinking of running an SMS campaign to try and get people to text their numbers... and hopefully show clients how they can use different marketing tactics to gain more custs.

Yes, use SMS. It is spectacular. Use the name of the other businesses at the expo as trigger keywords. And you get their cellphone everytime they send an SMS to test it out (oh yeah). Great way to demonstrate what you do and get their cell phones at the same time.

Put a giant QR Code as a floor mat with feet outlined just before it. People stand on the feet and scan your code.

Stuff like that to grab attention

        • Try to find a Joint Venture Opportunity with them.

Example: What do you have to offer that they may need?

Maybe there are people there that have something that you need. OR

Maybe there are people there that have something that they need.

Find out what you need and what they need and work something out!

Sorry I couldn't be more specific, but you weren't either in order to do so.

          Cheers,
