Article on Email vs. SMS

It turns out that the United States is the second-most text-sensitive country of all, with 86% of respondents saying they preferred email and only 14% saying they wanted offers and promotions via SMS. Great Britain is the least tolerant of text offers, with 87% saying they want email instead.

If you have a smart phone both come to your phone. And it depends on the place ,for resturants and such I prefer SMS. For retail you need longer messages so email works better.

But I am way more likely to read the sms vs the email.

I truly believe that SMS is more likely to be read. But it may be harder to get the people on your list. People have throw away email addresses. Phone numbers are worth more.

But wouldn't you want a smaller list where more people would read the message and more people would take action?

For me its quite more appealing to have promotions on email rather than SMS. I might take that as annoying receiving promotional text which is sometime fraud, and this can be pretty disturbing of some peoples part.

For me, Email is way better to get read by customers. I think with sms, they will think that they would have to pay because they got a txt from unknown sources

      HypeText:

      Agreed.

SMS Text only delivers specific offers that consumers opt-in for.

      ADVANTAGES:
      • Specifically authorized relevant info only
      • Delivery in seconds
      • Highest open rate
      • Highest redemption rate of all coupon media
      • Highest immediate gratification of all media
      Positively,

      Hello prince SEO group:

Your comment may be possibly true or not for Indonesia... but quantitatively not correct regarding SMS Text usage in the U.S.

      U.S. INDUSTRY STATISTICS clearly demonstrate:
      • FACT: All SMS is OPT-IN by U.S. law... enforced law... violators see swift and stiff penalties.
        .
      • FACT: SMS performance exeeds all other media by large margins for both for consumers and merchants.

How many these people days bother to actually open their marketing email? I know a lot of people who do not check their email more than once a week. How many people actually want to give you their email address?
The same with SMS- people are very, very careful about giving out their cell phone numbers. Nothing could be worst then having your phone beep all day long with annoying SMS's.
