The Offline Video Grab Method

Soooo...

I'm trying to work on taxes this weekend (blah!) which has led my mind to quickly wander off thinking about Offline biznass' stuff.

I thought about this moments ago and thought I would share with ya. It's untested as far as I know as I just thought about it, but I think it could be a pretty ninja and lucrative little (or big) money earner for ya.

So if you beat me to it, more power to ya!

Now this is what I would say might take a little GRIT. Not necessarily as someone else could do this for you. Either way I think it's worth a test in your area.

So locally, there are a LOT of tradeshows. Namely things called "small business expo" and local small business meetups etc...

I went to a Home and Garden expo a few weeks ago (before I had thought about this) as my wife had a booth set up. Her business probably made about an extra 10k that month as a result of the expo, so I know these badboys work!

But this is with a bit of a twist.

Here's the quick theory as pointedly as I can state it:

You set up a booth at a local business expo in your city, or an event you schedule or travel to.

Of course at the booth you can have flyers, swag, and all the basic stuff there.

But here is my idea. Why not set up a white background at your booth and get a large banner made where you will shoot a quick 30-90 second hd video free for all the businesses there and the businesses visiting the expo?

Now people can either come to you, from seeing the offer and your cool looking setup, AND you can go with a little camera to all of the customers booths and offer to shoot them a free video on the spot.

Why would they need a video? Well you can tell them how it will increase their branding with their customers, how you will upload it to youtube for them and they can add it to their website and their Places listings, thus increasing traffic and branding exposure for them.

For more of the benefits of Video for clients you can easily google it. And remember you can tell them that YouTube is one of the top search engines (was number 2 last time I checked), and something they are probably not harnessing the power of.

Now, you can have a little piece of paper where they can put in their name, number, website, and email address for you to contact them when the video is ready to be uploaded.

What you can do now is one, you are offering them a super valuable service that has a real value of a few hundred dollars.

If anything else, you email them the complete video and either upsell something or just make sure they know what else you can do and to contact you if they ever need anything else done.

Two, you can check out their website, seo, video presence etc... and look for gaps, missing opportunities, old sites that need revamped, keywords they aren't ranking for and need to target...

And when you email them the video, simply show them the "gap" in their marketing and make an offer to them that they can't refuse.

That's it in a nutshell. Thinking about this, there are a LOT of different things you could do here. But this one popped in my mind this morning and I think this could be pretty lucrative.

I'm sure going to be trying it out!

And, video is HUGE and not many people do it in my area unless they charge a few thousand bucks.

And nowadays all you need is a iPhone, Flip Cam, Kodak Zi8 or something like that to produce a high quality video on the fly for them.

What would be super cool is after you got their contact information, that you actually uploaded it on the spot and did some light seo on it.

You could potentially have the video ranked in Google before the end of the event or a few days later for one of their keywords!

Think of the power of walking over to them at their booth, or emailing them a few day later and showing them how the video is already ranked?!

Mucho powerful stuff indeed...
