Help on Facebook page for salesperson, please

I want to set up a facebook page for a family member that is a salesperson in a furniture store. This would be to help build up his customer base and have his current customers interact and comment as well an a way to notify customers of special sales. Any ideas for this? Also, it seems that on my own facebook page, some things I have liked I receive regular posts from and others not. Are there different ways to set up a page that allows those that have liked you to see all your posts? Thanks.

First, Facebook fanpages are not sales pages. They need to be used as community pages. The more interaction you have on your page, the more you will be able to sale without a sales pitch. So you need to come up with a plan on how he is going to interact with his page on a daily basis. I would use a 10 to 1 ratio for posting. 10 interactions to every one sales pitch. Make sure the interactions are worth people looking at it. Maybe he can find photos of crazy furniture. Another idea is a comical youtube video of people moving furniture. Be creative and get people interacting.

Second, pages that you have liked that have low interaction on them do not make it to your timeline. Facebook decides what you see based upon a pages interaction. Pages that have a steady stream of community interaction, shares, and likes will make it to your feed.

    Hope that helps a bit.

      Thanks Jeff,
That is what planned to do. It will not be used for sales pitches at all, more of an interaction and way for customers to comment and ask questions. Of course, ultimately, the idea is to increase his sales but not because he asks for them on the page. Several good suggestions you offered. Thanks.

Isn't it funny how if you don't sell but help people get what they want, the more you will sell? Good luck to you and your family member.

Absolutely. If more people kept that in mind and provided value to the reader, the internet would be a far less junky place.

Fanpages are good indeed to promote your products. But so far from my own experience, building customer bases are one of the hardest jobs. I know these days there are some buy fans schemes, but again you might need to check some of lead generation software just my opinion. I can suggest if you take a look at this leadsphantom.com it is one of the lowest prices indeed as it can find targeted leads in ANY categories, and in Any COUNtries. Hope that helps.

    cheers
