Hi All
I am about to design a website for a client friend of mine, but she is worried that because her former webmaster hosted her email for her that she won't get the same email address for her business.

Am I right in thinking that once her former webmaster releases the domain and points it to my servers that I will be able to give her the same email addresses for her business as before ? the businesses emails are hosted with outlook with all the pop3 stuff.

Does her former webmaster have any rights in keeping the email addresses for her company from her ? I know he is really Peed off at losing his client .

Any input welcome

Mike

No the email will go with the domain.

If it was IMAP she would lose the stuff on the server.

You are right. Make sure he releases the domain and you will be good, otherwise technically he could mess around with the mx records screwing you for the mail.

Take ownership of the domain, point it to your server and you will be good to go.
