Best Alternative to PayPal?

I searched the forum to see if this topic was covered, and I didn't really find what I wanted.

I need a new way to send invoices to clients that DOESN'T involve PayPal.

Some type of processor or system that allows customers to pay via CC or debit and the funds go directly into my bank acct.

Any suggestions would be great!

Thanks!

    • Also moneybookers (now called skrill). I've had a great time using them, since PayPal is limited in my country (Guyana).
  • authorize.net gateway would probably be ideal.

Go through merchantinc.com they give a pretty good deal, no set up fees, nothing. Best way to go, I think they're a reseller of ipayment which then goes through authorize.net.

    • I found a website that you might be what you're looking for.
BlinkSale allow you send invoices to customers. They have a free 15 day trial, so you can test out their services. You have the option to create your own invoices, you can bill clients in any currency, and you can create auto payments. I think it looks like a pretty cool.
      • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Problem is wepay is just like paypal in their structure, except they charge higher fees. 3.5% compared to 2.9%. The only other difference is, wepay can go into your bank account and take money back if you have a chargeback.

Get a real merchant account, you save money from fees and its more professional overall.

    • Looks like they changed the fee's. Their website now shows:

    • Obvious self promotion... BUT, I guess I'll let it slide because on the site it says no chargebacks. How is that possible?
      • [ 1 ] Thanks
    • There are many good ones out there. Best thing to do is google merchant accounts and look into each one to best fit what you are looking for.

  • Authorize.net and PayDotcom would be a couple of good places to start.

It really depends on what are your primary drivers and what do you want from your payment processor.

    cheers

  • I agree that paypal is not the way to go. Try blinksale, foofighters (If you have an actual company) .
  • Thank you guys so much for the help!
  • Thanks guys!
  • Paydotcom.com
  • Wikipay.com , gives you your money into your account within 24 hours. Payment via text messaging. Really neat service and cheaper than paypal.
  • Has anyone tried using https://www.dwolla.com/? Its only $0.25 per transaction and no other fees.

    • I've used ProPay.com in the past.

ProPay has always been very home biz/small biz friendly. (They do have set up fees.)

  • I will propose an alternative to you, you can use the www*wepay*com, if you are interested you can use
    thank you, success for you
  • 2CO is the best way.

  • Try Moneybookers, AlertPay or Liberty Reserve.
  • In general yes. Small merchant account holders often run into significant problems with PayPal since they do not have many of the rights and legal recourses that they would have with an actual bank. Regretsy's story is unusual only in the outpouring of support, not PayPal's behavior.

  • Thank you guys...I ended up going with authorize.net. Paypal just makes me nervous.
  • Good choice with authorize.net.... I have been using them for quite a while now... never had a problem
  • A couple of Warriors have been touting the advantages of checks.
Been doing research on this. With permission, you can print your
check (from customer) and deposit in your bank immediately.
Cost can work out to less than $.25 per check(including ink) and
thats hard to beat. Haven't joined yet, but looking at
    https://www.checkcomposer.com/

Not affiliate. Have just really started looking. Anyone know enough to advise?

    This has got me excited.

  • Hi,

I live in europe, what best paypal alternatice can you recommend me?
So I can make transfers international (USA) and become money from clients outside europe?

Paypal is too risky for me , they have for small entrepreneurs to many limits.
You can as a small business entrepreneur (not a Limited or Corporation) not use your paypal private account , you must have the paypal business account.

For this paypal business account (I have aprivate paypal account over 2 years) they need many many nonsensical documents.

What easy most accept payment you can recommend me- small business entrepreneur friendly, who is most accepted in USA?

  • Moneybookers is a nice alternative. You can also chose alertpay if those are supported by your country.

  • Dude, forget about online payment processors because they always ask for a cut of YOUR hard earned cash. My advice? Ask for a transfer from bank account to bank account with the shared costs option. It'll cost you 0. Yes, it works with internal transfers too.

That's much better than PayPal, AlertPay, and the rest of those greedy businesses.
  • merchantinc.com/ for US residence only..
  • Hi,

@masterminding, there is one problem;most usa clients and affiliate merchants doe snot make a simple normal transfer an us from bank account to an europe bank account, its simple with IBAN and SWIFT, I don't understand why they dont do it, it is simple and secure.

  • Remember, these are just our TOP PICKS.
You many not agree as to what our top pick is -- you don't have to agree. Remember, what might not work for you, might work for somebody else and vice versa.
Picking what we think is the #1 PayPal alternative out there today was a very tough choice to make. The decision goes beyond what we liked and didn't like -- the decision is based on what we think users need in a service. That being said, we could only pick from a limited amount of products and services. While there are a lot of "PayPal alternatives" out there -- there are very few that are actually any good.

  • Hi,

is payalert most accepted by the people?

But what happened with moneybooker, paypal and Payalert, when the customer cacelled his credit card payment (he can do this within 30 days) than what happened to me?

They frozen complet my account and money? They frozen any new cash imputs, as long as the negative balance from this cancelled payment is charged?

Or they book it back from my bank account (so I have the risk to lose them when if this happens too often)?

Or is it better only make money as adsense publisher (google pays direct tomy bank account) and amazon who pays per check their always covered from amazon, so I have no risk.

Or is a one more alternative to use an affiliate network, they often payout after a reversal period.

  • Skrill.com is better than paypal in dealing with payments, customers, conversion rates and more. And for me Paypal is only an optional alternative to skrill and not the main player.
  • I use wepay.com and appreciate it. Great service and support.
  • Any suggestion for South America? That are welcome & use by buyer. The customer need to feel secure.
  • Hi,

    people thanks for the tips!

But,what happens with skrill and wepay.com, when a buyer customer cancelled his credit card payment to me?

I think the credit card payment cancelled rate in usa is much much lower than in europe, when I have 10 clients a month, I think non of them will cancelled his credit card payment to me.

Perhaps Im a little bit paranoid of that, Im a beginner and not a big company who has a big credit line, I must always have a Plan b so you must understand me.

    best wishes

  • The merchant account I use is Merchantinc.com and they are a great paypal alternative because they can be uses on ebay as well as websites and mobile devices. And in your case it would work excellent for emailing invoices. The shopping cart that is included the merchant account enables you to send invoices by email to your clients. The invoice will contain a Pay Now button. When your client clicks this, they will be sent to a secure checkout page, where they will be able to enter their credit card details. If the credit card transaction has been approved, you will be notified instantly by email, with the details of the order. I do do email invoices from time to time and it's very easy and the funds does go directly to my bank account.
  • Thanks guys for the tips!!
  • The best alternatives to Paypal are Moneybookers (know called Skrill) and Alertpay (now called Payza). Funny that both changed their company names. ^^
  • Dwolla.com check them out.
  • I would recommend Payza and Skrill. I've had positive experiences with both, and never heard people trash talk them.
