Google's Webmaster Central Blog has a post 'Introducing Rich Snippits'. Warrior forums won't let me post the link since I have under 15 posts.

Let me know if it makes sense to you; if not, I can try to help. But I probably won't get back with you 'till tomorrow. It's getting a little late.

Go to Schema.org and see some of the example code.

Otherwise, if they don't have a wordpress site but you do and have a plugin that generates rich snippet code, why not create a test page on your wordpress site, output the rich snippets, view the source for that page, copy the rich snippet code and paste it into your clients site?

If their website is on the wordpress platform, here is a wso that will help you solve not only this customer's request but many others as well. I also just received a bonus from the product creator that will include rich snippets for Hours of Operation & Business Name, Address and Phone number (non-affiliate link):

      Hi there,

Thanks for all the good responses to date. I'd like to make it clear that my client does not use a wordpress platform and I don't have a great technical knowledge.

      Therefore:
      - Is this something I need to hire a programmer to do?
      - If so how much would I expect to pay for something like this?

      or:
      - Is this something I could do myself?
      - Is there some kind of software that can do this for non-wordpress sites?

      Thanks!

        Diana,

It really depends on what rich snippets you are wanting to display on the clients websites. Do you want reviews? Hours of operation? Business address info?

          Hi Josh,

          Thanks for your response!

Just Reviews at this stage to keep it simple so that the stars ratings appear in the serps. Potentially the others later as by the way you word this...it sounds like lot extra effort.

You will likely need to hire a programmer if you aren't savvy enough.

I will throw this in, just because I want to... I have integrated rich snippets in about 15 sites... one was an ecommerce site with thousands of products, I didn't do all of them though. The thing that I noticed is on average the sites with rich snippets lost 3-5 spots in the SERPs. Very weird and strange thing that happened to ALL of them, except the ones without it LOL.

Well that's a concern! Has anything else noticed this as well after implementing rich snippets?
You mean you installed rich snippet on every product page??

Its been almost a month since this post, have these sites improved any?

I have a e-commerce site that I was looking to integrate rich snippets, but a little worried after reading your post.

I have tried to do this and am failing somewhere. I would be willing to either pay $25 to have someone show me how to do this over skype or if you would rather have a link, I would place your link on a PR4 site with many PR3s either in content or on the blogroll. The site is a bookstore/coffee shop site and would have no problem making your link relevant.
