Best WordPress Package for Offline Marketing?

Hi,

I'm looking to expand my website designing business. Are there any good packages out there that would include WordPress themes for developing clients' websites?

I have looked at Studiopress' all-themes package, which would include all the themes and unlimited installs, which is what I'm looking for, but I just wanted to know if there are any other choices out there.

By the way, I have heard people talking about Drupal. Now I have used WordPress for many years, but I'm really serious about getting into the website design business, so I want to know the best choice for developing my clients' websites.

I have fair knowledge in html, css and php. I have been using WordPress with themes that I would customize everything myself. I love WordPress' easiness and effectiveness with all the plugins you can get. But if Drupal is a better choice for CMS, then I would gladly learn its system and master it to develop better websites.

What are you thoughts?

Thanks!

    lirikh,

I don't use Drupal but I've seen it used before and I tried to get a few of my sites made using Drupal - my developers weren't full-time drupal developers and I think overall it was too complicated to use that my developers (admittedly not professional and full time drupal developers) didn't get it finished.

I guess it depends on what websites you want to build. I think using drupal may be a specialization in itself. One may have to really spend a bit of time mastering it. I prefer to just stick with Wordpress and offer other internet marketing related services.

Regarding WP themes, I like using themeforest.net themes.

I do everything with WordPress. Drupal is great - but as mentioned, has a tougher learning curve.

My company uses StudioPress almost exclusively. Genesis is an awesome platform with a support forum that is second to none...

Hey Quentin, is Artisteer really that good? You just made me want to buy it now that I know you are using it.

One question though, are the templates really simple? Because I like to offer my clients a lot of customizations. With Studiopress' themes, the SEO functionality is great, and I can customize everything with html and by modifying the template's css and php files.

Would you still recommend Artisteer? I see that they have two versions of it. I only need to use WordPress, should I still get the standard edition? or the home & academic one?

      Thanks

      Quentin:

Your ability to modify Artisteer blogs would actually be a great product in itself. I like Artisteer - but choose not to use it, because I don't know how to modify it once it's built.

I'll be your first buyer if you make a training product on that subject.

My partner and I use Studio Press and we're really happy with all the different child themes available.

We use the Expand2Web theme and it works well. Frankly, we try an avoid customization as much as possible.

Forget Drupal. It won't provide anything useful over WordPress (unless you are doing really big systems) and is a bigger pain. There is so much out there for WP that is good quality and free. The Drupal ecosystem is far more limited.

Well, in my opinion, being able to provide customization is what can differentiate a professional business and an amateur one.

My goal is to have a professional web design company, providing effective web solutions. That is why I'm looking to provide out-of-range customizations of any sort that could fit any business' needs. And with WordPress, I can provide CMS to my clients, and at the same time customize it to make it more brandable.

I've did a small research on Artisteer, and concluded that it is not worth it. Apparently, the code produced by Artisteer is bloated and not clean, which is really not professional in my opinion. The front-end might look nice, but the back-end is messy, and it is not what I'm looking to provide for my clients.

I think I will be using the Genesis framework for my clients' websites, and choose any child themes that I would see suitable to be customized for my clients' needs. With my knowledge in html, css and php, I think this would be the best path to go on. Artisteer seems more like a beginner's choice, however I am not bashing it and people who are using it may continue using it, it is only my opinion.

      Thanks!
