how i made my first $900 dollars offline in 2 days.. THANK YOU JOHN DURHAM

today i made my first sale

yeah!!!!!!!!!
it feels great to see a check that big and i hardly worked for it

anyways, the reason why im writing this is not to brag but instead to tell you how i did it, so that other warriors can copy what i did and implement it themselves.

is not as hard it

so before you start reading everything i want to let you know that yes
i did

cold call the first day, and the second day i went to meet the clients.

i just wanted to say that because some people don't even want to consider cold calling and face face meeting, so they will stop reading the post as soon as they see how i did it. so i wanted to save those people the time.

anyways what i did was this.

i was at the telemarketing forum and i found a post from john durham
it was about selling SEO, so i used it.

THANK YOU JOHN DURHAM FOR CREATING THE TELEMARKETING FORUM AND FOR WRITING THAT POST THAT CHANGED MY LIFE
i dont want to write the whole script here, but i basically was calling businesses and telling them we were shooting out a traffic report for them, to see if they were getting customers thru their website.
and by doing that i will just ask for their email.
and i will tell them i would send out the email in about 30 mins.

anyways the email was not even closed to being professional written
but it worked.
i just took started out by telling them about google and how important it is to be on page one, and letting them know which page they are currently on.
i added a picture from google keyword tool to show them how many people search for their busienss per month. and that they are loosing out in all of that traffic.

i kept it short and simple. but straight to the point. i didn't even tell them about my company or if we could help them.

at the end of the email i just added that i will be following up with them first thing in the morning to answer any questions they might have, and if they want to take advantage of all of that traffic we could talk then how i could help them.

well tuesday morning i followed up with them and i had already caught their attention with the email, so they were expecting my call. (not all of them) but some were actually waiting for my call. they asked me how i could help, and explain a little but then i asked for an appointment, i told them if they could give me 10 mins i could explain everything better in person.

anyways i had 3 appointments and i closed 1 for $900 dollars and it wasn't as hard or as intimidating as i thought it would be.

the other 2 are interested and told me they needed to think about it, i really think i will close those other 2 at the end of the week, or maybe next week.

anyways, i hope you guys understood what everything i wrote. because i am not even proof reading this, lol.
im just too exited.

if you guys have any questions feel free to ask.

Couldn't disagree more. Everything can be outsourced.

Regardless of how talented you are at SEO or Web Design, without clients that's all you are, good at SEO and Web Design.

The op overcame the biggest obstacle that most people face in offline marketing. Picking up the phone, getting in front of a prospect, and closing the deal.

No kidding for $100 at most you can outsource and make a killing.

Way to go on your first sale. I hope you deliver some great results for that client. Try also getting referrals from them. Offer a discount for them if they refer you to another client. I'm gearing up for an offline marketing campaign myself, just waiting for a few loose ends to be tied up.

I actually dont know a thing about SEO so i will have to look for an outsourcer, i had the client agree to give me 3 months so i could deliver the results but i told him i will most likely will deliver the results within 1 month or so.

anyways i have seen great outsourcer here with great reviews who woud do it for 100$ and they can deliver the results pretty quick. So that is what im thinking on doing :-)

@mjbmedia - sarcasm doesn't translate well in a forum. I'm a victim of misunderstood statements because of that myself.

Sorry if I misunderstood your intention. It's just that it's so difficult for many people to make that first move and pick up the phone that I get an instant reaction to people that appear to take away from the importance of that first step.

There are a lot of people in this forum who think salespeople are the antichrist. I've never understood that attitude on an offline forum, but I don't understand jumbo shrimp or a plastic glass either.

            Again, sorry if I misunderstood.

Its because there are some types that you never know their intentions. A couple of years ago when I was less savvy about online sabotagers... I paid Caliban ( Cdarklock) a huge compliment and he didnt respond... later I found out it was because people had been messing with his head and he thought I wasnt being sincere.

Sometimes sincerity is hard to read too after you have been run through the ringer a couple of times.

Some of these guys were born on the internet, or havent left their PC since they were 15 (now 30) , and they live in some pretty messed up mental worlds...lol

Took alot of calls to learn to read people on the phone...now going on 8k posts between this one and my forum...I still cant read people from an internet post...Takes time to get to know them.

PM's the "voice" helped or "the idea spot". (I believe you get the voice as a bonus with Idea spot. Either that or the "voice" is a chapter within it. Cant remember I read so much of his stuff, and he packs it so tight with bonuses but its in there somewhere)

Paul understands the online mentality better than anyone being a mod here.

Now Im surrounded with more sincere people online since I learned not to 'create" insincere ones from that report.

Still they slip through the cracks but nowadays they go just as quick as they came.

Wait a second... You mean to tell me you started calling and email businesses about SEO, you don't know how to SEO at all, and you didn't even find the person to outsource before making the phone calls? Wow. Awesome? Ballsy? Insane?

Yeah, this happens everyday. Just like my friend use to take 5 million dollar orders from walmart when he didnt have the employees to even fill half that...you just make it work.

If I didnt know a thing about SEO, I could still sell it, and if I got a deal there are a THOUSAND people right on this forum who will jump at a chance to fuilfill and have track records a mile long...

              Not so strange.

I might not know how to build a car but I can sell one.

If you have a product to sell with a good commission, I dont have to know anything about the inner workings of it to sell or represent your company.

If this guy can "sell" he's WAAAAAAAAAAAAY more valuable than a tech.

An ignorant guy who can close will do alot better than a qualified consultant who cant. If he finds an seo person to do a good job, and the customers get traffic and exposure, then he's as good as a consultant, only faster and a better closer.

On another note, most of the consultants who might be tempted to say he shouldnt be selling, would take his clients business in a heart beat if he offered to share his talent, and make him their golden goose.

David, perhaps you dont appreciate the ' ' marks around 'harder' suggest sarcasm in that word, especially as the OP used the phrase that it isnt that hard (or something like that) .

My post never dissed his efforts at winning the client but of course if he (or outsourcer) does deliver then theyll be ops for upselling, if they dont then the client likely wont hang around long.

In any case finding the right outsourcer (one who delivers on time, every time as its your businesses image thats at stake not theirs) isnt always that easy at first attempt with no exisiting connections, whereas winning a new client by phone, face to face, whatever isnt that difficult once the newer person gets over their phobias/ fears etc .

keeping that client happy to increase the long term value and profits is the fun part

Or you could just email David Stewart Or Many others here on the warrior forum and give them $300.00 to build a site that ranks on the first page for its terms and comes with a google places listing. Just a thought... Thats the beauty of being here and networking, people know how to do it, and can do it inexpensively.

There you just fulfilled and made $600 profit. Done. Next sale please.

Ps. Keep it in the family. Be a creator of opportunity for others as well, at the WF, with your sales work, and you will form strong bonds that payoff later.

You dont have to do everything. As a sales person you can be a contractor and provide opportunity for others with the work you create using your sales and marketing ability.

Be what you are good at, and seed opportunity into others with the rest.

You can take some of your gross and pay people to

      Design sites
      Do google places listings
      Design Headers and graphics
      Write articles

      ..All kinds of stuff.

Lets say you can use a drag and drop program but you dont do good headers.

You can have one designed here for $35.00, and do the rest of the work yourself.

      Create opportunity... spread it around.

I think I just decided I'm officially jealous of you SEO guys. I like the fact you can just walk into/call just about any business. In my current job you got to do a lot of work just to find someone to pitch to, nevermind get a sale. Commissions are definitely higher, but selling SEO really may not be as bad as it seems.

I do sales now anyway, so not like I got anything to lose. Think its time to take a trip to Mr. Durhams forum. I already know a great deal about the internet, websites, social media, selling, so it really makes perfect sense. For some reason I thought SEO was very very difficult to sell due to how many people call our office and how often my boss hangs up on them. Now I'm realizing most of them just pitch it like idiots.

Thank you everyone who posted in this thread I'm officially motivated to get a pitch together now!

(this will also synergize well with selling postcard marketing, but after this I'm not learning to sell anything new for a long time - becoming a jack of all trades but a master of none lol)

My forum is half asleep because I havent had a work season in it for awhile... But after I do my next report Im going to host a support group there and start bringing it back to life.... My plan is to spend the next season more there than here... and maybe spend 90 days focusing the bulk of my posting energy on it.

You will see it highly active next week.

Forums are funny, Allens has reached critical mass so, he could never come back and it would roll right over every new plateau...but mine has only 3500 members and hasnt reached critical mass yet, so if Im not there activity slows down.

The reason is because people come and go in cycles. You may have 3500 members but only the ones who are active are active at any given time... So if you dont keep the momentum up it falls asleep.

For the first year my forum was like a 'real time help center" as Mark Riddle put it... But I worked so hard that I burnt myself. Even thinking of changing the color of it to help with that lol!

It took alot of work to get it there, so much that I needed a break. Time to start working in it more this next season though, and Im looking forward to it again.

But Im ALWAYS going to be here some! Always a Warrior.

We look forward to you having a work season in the telemarketing forum. It has consistent posts, informative threads, and activity. If anyone on this forum hasn't visited then, now is the right time. It's apt to open the eyes, mind, and get you to search your soul as well. It's the complementary resource to the warrior forum and the definitive guidance system for understanding telemarketing. Thanks John!

Thanks John Durham!! But where can I please find out more information? Your forum? Is this a WSO? It probably should be.

This thread is also worth reading:

Search WF for "Want more offline clients? This is a NEVER FAIL way to do it."

John, is your mega wso from here still available? Kim Winfrey Mega Warrior Special?

      (Can't post links yet.)

ARRGH... No. Thanks for the heads up... and I cant call them at night either!

I mean, yeah the mega wso is still available, but Homestead is down, will call them in the morn and straighten it out.

With 50 gazillion web pages out there sometimes stuff slips through the cracks.

I'll service them all for a $5k/mo retainer.

Even with it down, searching for your threads will provide everyone with more than enough material. Looking forward to tomorrow and Saturday.

          Thanks again for your writings.

Good stuff. Keep up the momentum. You'll learn as you go, just be ready for stuff along the way. Take care of these guys(your clients), give them free good value and bonuses. and the will refer people to you.

This is where you make your money. Plus you'll close everyone.

    keep going bro.
