  • Are you crazy Martin? How can you expect any member of this forum to actually go out and do MANUAL LABOR? And, on top of that, first spend money buying the product and to top it off, actually practice to acquire the skill needed?

Nah, better to hide behind a computer and wish for riches to fall down from the sky... 98 people has looked at your thread and not a single response so I must be right.

    Just kiddin', lol...

    • Eva,

Lol, I know of all the money making ideas I have posted here, this one involves some real work and labor, but I figured it was worth sharing for those few who still don't mind getting their hands dirty

      All the best,

      Martin

LOL! Another golden nugget, thanks Martin!
  • Interesting stuff Martin. Is the product's name Forever Black Bumper and Trim? If it is cool. Need to factor in the costs of the supplies and you really have to come close to $45ish per car. I guess dealers can tag the "restoration" cost to the price of a better looking car easily.

    • Hey Martin, is this something that you've done yourself?

I've detailed cars for years, but always stayed away from deal work because it is wholesale and many won't pay much more than you're claiming per hour on this service to get the entire car detailed in our area. I'm not knocking the idea, but part of me thinks that it may be difficult to find enough dealers to go through this. I know people that do pinstriping with vinyl stripes, and in the past good money could be made there, but work is harder and harder to find as those dealers cut back. I've done wood grain kits, stripes, and I've done trim restoration to some extent, headlight restoration, and got involved in windshield repair a bit, but I would be interested in seeing how many people could actually make this kind of money and get dealers to go for it anymore.

Best of luck to anyone pursuing this. Come back and let us know how it went if you do. I'd sincerely be interested in seeing if the market for this exists much anymore, and if so, how much money can actually be made hourly, and if enough business can be found to keep one busy at all.
    • rackemup,

Yes, the product is called Forever Black Bumper and Trim.

Now, I just want to also add that you can offer this service on craigslist and promote it to people who are selling used cars and exsplain the benifits to paying for your service as it will help to increase the value of thier car, so they can sell it for more and make their car look better and make it easier to sell, etc.

      To your success,

      Martin

  • I don't know Mr. Buckley actually is, but I've never seen anybody come up with so many unique money making ideas, ever...

    Who is this guy?!

    • I agree with umc. I also used to detail cars, and in my experience used car lots are the worst place to look for that kind of business (unless you like to work for peanuts). The problem is... most of them already have some kid who they pay $8 or $10 an hour that does all their detail work.

I don't want to discourage anyone from trying this, but just want to let anyone reading this to know what to expect.

For anyone wanting to make some real money detailing, I highly recommend targeting individual car owners in wealthy neighborhoods.

  • /\ Same exact thing for landscaping. Landscaping is actually a great way to make cash imo if you are even a little bit intelligent.

Advertise strictly to wealthy neighborhoods just like you said. Actually read about how to landscape properly. Pay and train young college men and outsource the work. Just invest in equipment at first get it all cheap. My cousin does this for a living and pulls in over 6 figures a year. Because he doesn't actually landscape, he sells ice lemonade at carnivals/fairs/flea markets on the side I've seen him profit $2gs in just 1 day. It is labor though.

Still great ways to make money. You can outsource a lot of things if you're willing to make the investments and put all the bricks together.
  • If this technics can work in USA it does not mean it can in Europe or in Asia

    • You make a good point and i'm sorry, but most of the ideas i share are for use in the USA, but there are some money making ideas i post that would work in Europe.

      All the best,

      Martin

  • None the less, great, FREE little business idea for someone who is a little creative!

  • Super dynomite way to pick up a few $$$ plus open up a sales door for advertising with the car dealer but go one further... create this report along with at least a dozen easy repairs on a vehicle then turn it into a CD or DVD that you offer to the car dealership to sell or give away to clients and you share the sales plus when a person plays the disk the videos can have links built in to your website(s) that endorse or promote something to do with the care of a motor vehicle. If you promise to put the car dealers ads / promos / links on the disk as well I'm betting that they won't mind promoting the disk. To find out more about how to create the disk for free or nearly free visit our website, join and leave a comment that you want to know more about product creations. I can guarantee that a post or set of posts will be seen quickly after posting the comment. Have a wonderfully warm pleasant green day

  • This is a great idea. I told my brother about it and surprisingly enough 3 small car dealerships hired him! They were "buy here pay here" lots and they were appreciative of the service. They want him to come back weekly - how does it get any better than that?

All this happened today. He already had the Bumper & Trim Black Dye so he already knew that it worked. He never thought about providing a service with it.
  • I don't mean to be a Debbie Downer, but, is this your method Martin?
Or, is it something you came across and decided to share some of the details.

The reason I ask is because a few days ago I read a report outlining this whole process in detail along with examples. The report was dated from a few years ago.
  • Wow I wish I would have read this months ago that is a doable idea to help ends meet! Thanks for sharing! I read you have more ideas like this in the thread so I am going to have to check them out!
