POLL-Would you use professional meeting space if it were free

Anyone west of the Mississippi probably won't be interested but if so I appreciate the feedback.

Scenario:

For us that have, do, or may do group presentations, free seminars, or whatever would you use FREE meeting room space in a professional setting. I'm talking about a top of the line fortune 5000 top 5 in their industry type of setting.

Some may or may not be familiar with renting meeting space or may not want to BUT if you need to project a certain image or need access to internet, etc would you use a company like Regus if it were free to use their meeting rooms for an hour a week?

Yes or No?

EDIT

I actually am part of a company that offers such a service. This isn't in anyway trying to trick anyone. We have 33 locations from Maryland to Florida nothing west of the Mississippi and I am in charge of online marketing therefore the question was raised internally if entrepreneurs, at home workers, etc would use free meeting room space on a weekly basis. Sort of like you can sign up for your hour and use the full range of services we offer. It is strictly to increase our visibility so in that case we gain something BUT it truly would be free to the person holding the meeting, presentation, etc. From our point of view it cold lead to clients and at worst further build the brand.

So, I figured why not post the question here.

Well as I am east of The Mississippi I feel that I can answer.

If you are doing presentations to groups and have access to a free presentation room in an Office then why wouldn't you?

    Where were you thinking?

I to can see the benefits so maybe I can get enough responses to move forward and get the ball rolling on some of the locations to provide this service. I added a few details to my original post.

I'd ask what's the catch. Nothing is free.

I added a few details above but honestly it would be free. Of course if we gained business that wouldn't hurt my company.

I would use it if it was FREE! "But surely there's some catch to this?" - That's the exact question I would ask.

What cities are you in? For me it would depend on how close and if I could schedule soemthing in that city.

Also how long could we use the room for?

I sure would I live right outside of NYC, and there are a TON of similar outfits. IMO, it's perfect for the small biz owner who cannot afford to rent a full~fledged office every month...especially in a major metropolitan area. I know MANY Attorney's, CPA's, and small business owners who do this. NOt only is it affordable, but, it's also a great place to meet clients/prospects, and can even convey the illusion that it is a primary office. Oh yeah...

Also great if you want to get away from the wife for a little while to actually get something done

I could see where this could be a tremendous tool for anyone who would like to host a client meeting or conference. In fact, there's a lot of firms here in the NY Metro area that offer this.

As The Sales Guy says, attorneys, cpa's and others of that type use this type of service quite regularly.

As I'm reading your post I only see one "catch" and perhaps you could explain it:

Sort of like you can sign up for your hour and use the full range of services we offer

A few days ago I had to pick a friend up at the airport. The plane was delayed for a bit. I had to pay for the second hour even though I was only one hour and 5 minutes in.

There really isn't a give them an hour hope they over stay or something in mind. It would strictly be whatever time slot maximum my company outlines. The exact time frame is undetermined just yet. However, if there were two presenters it could possibly be a 2 hour time slot. The details are not set yet but there is no catch. Our hope would simply be to get some more exposure and if clients came our way as a result I sure wouldn't be complaining.

I would have probably used the space for free. I remember how hard it was to get started, to earn my way to affording a real lease on a real space with real overhead.

I'll let any noob use my conference room if they're in an honest trade and they have good manners.

I'm west of the Mississippi... too bad for me

It sounds like you offer virtual office/meeting rooms. If that's the case, I think it would be a great promotion. A lot of sales people aren't aware how reasonably priced and efficient these can be.

It's very appealing if facilities can be used in different cities under the same contract.
