I haven't had to use them in years as i flipped from residential sales
to B2B, I had an idea and i wanted to make some residential calls
for a few days and test the idea out.

So i went to pay my dues and get the list...

Only its not 1 list any more, now it appears you
pay for each area code you want.

What happened to 1 list, pay your fee, then a monthly fee
( which if i remember properly was 200 or maybe 250 ) a month.

Now i have to wait 3 days, and be approved? and then pay per area code? and it appears to only update quarterly now ??? that doesn't even make sense.

Its nuts, they made it too hard for people to be legal.

anyone have last quarters list? ill pay you for it tonight. ( if the price is right, and you don't try to rob me ) area code does not matter.

if not, well, i guess ill buy another prepaid cell and test it any way.
I just wont run any cards ( if i get any ).

yeah i know, illegal. "whatever", ill take the risk and the spanking , if it comes.

    Bureaucracy happened. They don't want you to comply. They want you to pay fees and fines.

    kenmichaels,

    I thought I'd look up the DNC complaint regimen to see what a consumer had to send the FTC. This is taken from their website:

    For the FCC to process your complaint you must either fill in the electronic form completely or otherwise indicate:

    •your name and address;
    •the home phone number where you received the solicitation;
    •identification of the individual or company whose products or services were being advertised or sold, and any phone numbers included in the call;
    •a description of the call;
    •any phone number provided to allow you to "opt-out" of future calls;
    •whether you or anyone else in your household gave the caller express prior permission to call;
    •whether you have an EBR with the caller (specifically, whether you or anyone else in your household made any purchases of property, goods, or services from the company that called, or made any inquiry or filed an application with the company prior to receiving the call).

    Again that is off their website. So I went to the online complaint form. They do not make it easy to file a complaint. You have to leave information on about five pages.

    I guess a guy could, I'm saying could not would, conclude the FTC ain't too interested in hearing complaints. BTW, they don't act on individual complaints. They bundle them but don't release how many must be in a bundle b4 they act.

    So, if someone did take the time to complain about you and they didn't have the number they desired to act, one could assume the complaint would just sit there w/o any action.

    I don't know this for sure but am making what I call guesses from the information they provide. Read it yourself and see what you think.

      I think your correct in your assumption, and i did NOT know about the bundled complaints. That's good to know. Thanks Tom.

        I'll tell you how I know about the bundled complaints. I made a complaint in writing w/full backup material to the FTC. About three months later I get a package from them thanking me for sending in the complaint and including so much information.

        Wow, I was excited couldn't wait to read para 2. That's where they told me about the bundling. I was so hot I ripped up their letter and inclusions and threw them away. However my memory tapes keep churning and burning.

        Mind you, this is just what happened in my case. I'm not saying anything other than what they told me.

        Have a successful day calling...

      I wouldn't believe that 100%. We use cole information and they admit they try to comply but w/all the people coming on, going off and numbers being reused it is impossible. I would more likely believe they try as hard as they can to comply.

        True, but it's good enough for me. I employ a few telemarketers at my small remodeling company and we use infofree lists (we used to scrub haines lists). The complaint rate is really really low.

        I feel like a criminal for saying this on here but sometimes I pull unscrubbed lists and give them to a select few callers who know how to handle complaints well. It's like shooting fish in a barrel when we do that.

          bob,

          Your last paragraph is the key to understanding the mess called DNC and making it work. Hopefully the op will catch on and fire both rockets...
