Harsh, but this is the sad reality you face Chris.

I found a good quote from successful internet marketer JohnChow:

If you are a newbie and find yourself surrounded by a community of prominent marketers, you should never take on the role of being a leech: someone who only takes and never gives, someone who marches to the most influential people requesting one-on-one assistance. The right approach will be for you to firstly take the initiative and gain a thorough understanding on a specific subject. Read, research and absorb all the information at your disposal

Chris here is some information based on what I do day in and day out as an offline marketeer. I hope that it helps you in one way or another.

    Good luck!

    Chris,

Yes there is lots of information.

I guess it really depends in what you want to do.

You see you could just target a specific sector of business and get to know it inside out. You could then apply some simple marketing techniques and develop from there.

There are some that know very little and still manage.

The key is educating yourself with the information and methods that work for you and you are comfortable with.

Time and learning is the key.

If you want any further info drop me a line.

    Cheers

I remember back when this section of the forum first started. People were helpful, encouraging and most definitely not downright rude to someone asking for advice.

Recently, after a good time away from forum threads I have come here and noticed so many threads whereby someone asks for help, or makes a comment and people jump down their throats like they have no right to be here.

This is just another classic example of it.

Terry, how do you know what Chris is really asking (as his post is quite vague), how much knowledge he has and whether he can or cannot help local businesses?

    Anyway, lets get to Chris.....

Chris, from your post it is difficult to give you any advice without knowing more information about you,ie:

    1) When you say offline business, do you mean a traditional business or a business as a consultant helping local offline businesses with their Marketing?

    2) What is your experience level?

    etc etc......
