Hey guys, I'm tired of buying WSO's and not doing anything.. I got the demo templates up from the Mobile Pro Templates and I'm ready to go. I'm 16 years old I'm gonna make some money.

I'm saying $500 + $10 a month hosting what do you say?

Door to door here I come.. I will update this thread on how it goes.

Thanks for the tips and stuff I've received here!

I'm OUT!

  • You are a brave soul. I'm curious as to why you're not considering cold-calling?

    Good luck!
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Hey Money Maker, its great to see that you're taking action.

However, I don't think you'll find one person on the warrior forum making money from selling "mobile websites". If that is what your plan is, I can tell you now, you are going to fail miserably.

Those that are succesful are selling "solutions" and "ways of generating business", not mobile websites.

Before you visit any of your clients, you need to ask yourself, why would they want a mobile website and what is in it for them. Nobody is going to buy one just because they look nice. A mobile website is completely useless to any business, big or small, if nobody is using it and they're not making any money from it.

How are the businesses that you visit going to make any money from buying a $500 mobile website from you? Once you've answered that, then go out.

    • Ben I have to disagree with ya, and besides why would you bash his hopes before he has had a chance to give it a go? I like his positive attitude and you never know he may kick butt. As for mobile not making any money that is not true either. We developed a mobile ap with geo targeting txt applications as well as payment solutions and loyalty and the business owners love it.
      • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • MB-

    Thank you for the positivity.

  • Go for it MoneyMaker14. You can make money from selling Mobile sites or anything else you put your mind to. Just go for it and never look back!

  • Thanks all... I'll reply to some of the replies above after I state how it went.. I appreciate all the encouragement first and foremost.

How it went, lol I had a friend come with me he's a little better with talking to people.. First we went to a Dentist, gave the dentist the number (will call back), next was party store with tons of supplies they have a godaddy website, we have to call or go in when the owner is in... Next was a salon, we got rejected almost immediately after saying "your website isn't mobile optimized which..." she was like "yes it is, it's fine" then we say "have a good day" lol. Next was a bistro place... The guy was like I'm busy, please leave business card, so I did.. This guy sounded interested in a website... Next was a Barber Shop, left a business card... Next was a Cafe the lady at the front said "the owner is in the meeting, please leave a business card", then a few ones similiar to those...

As shown above most of these are saying I'll call you back, we will see if this happens. If not I will either call back, walk back in or send in a direct mail piece...

I'll keep updating this thread with the progress.. I'm really needing money so we'll see..

I also got a directory site almost set up.... It's statewide so it's like PlumbersInNM(newmexico for example).com It's not that.. But it gets 110,000 searches per month according to google adwords.. So we'll see... All I see is like 2 competitors with weird domain names and then like some authority sites that have some information...

Thanks for following, more updates coming.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks

    • Just make sure when your using adwords that you have the "exact" matches selected. Otherwise your figures could be well out.
  • wow..thanks for the update, your attitude is going good..
  • 16 years old and yet your are a brave soul going doors to doors if I've got 10 salespeople like u I'm sure to be making tons of money

Good luck young man all the best
  • Hey buddy - that is a really great idea - bRaVe but a great idea. I always thought taking 'online - offline' was the way forward and to be honest the way you have approached you website selling is for lack of a better word - inspirational.

You disregarded the Information on Some of the WSO's you bought and made your own decisions and I really hope, my friend, that you make a success from this. Imagine - just sell one a week first off then 2 a week then - wow, you'll be on your Private Yacht in no time at all.

    Keep at it Moneymaker

  • Beyond the templates that you've got setup, do you have any sites from real, local businesses setup?

Even if you give one or two websites away for free, having something to show prospects will give you more credibility because they'll think "This guy must be alright if someone else trusted him to do their website" and if you go after prospects in the same niche as your samples, they might also think "I could be losing out if my competitors look great on mobile phones and my site looks awful."

Also, do your research ahead of time and if you're going to visit these places in person, print up a flyer that shows 1) how their website looks on a mobile phone 2) how nice their competitors website looks (if there's a good local example you can use) and 3) use the google keyword tool to show them how many people are searching for businesses like theirs on a mobile device.

In my county here, I think something like 4000 local searches are done each month for pizza places, so there you've got proof that prospective clients are searching for these businesses.

    Cheers,

    Steve

P.S. Also, I didn't see you mention this, but I'm assuming you have a mobile phone so you could show people in person just how "well" their site works on a mobile phone?
    • [ 3 ] Thanks
    • [1] reply
    • This is exactly what I was going to mention. That's how I landed my first client, sitting in his dentist chair discussing what he could do to help his business online. But I was only able to do that because I had done my research and mentioning that I had given them a good review is how I opened up the conversation

      Wishing you the best!

  • Just consider this more words of encouagement. I hope when my daughters are your age they have as much drive.

You are 16 which is great because it means you have years and years where you can succeed and fail. True success requires failure and the older we get the less risk we are willing to take or able to take.

Hopefully by the time you are my age(33) you will own one or more successful businesses. But this is how it all starts.

As for pricing I think your prices are far but if the sites are easy to make consider $299 +$10/mo hosting. But offer up grade options.

    $499 larger mobile site
$50 a month hosting plus back up and maintenence.
    $? SEO
    $? Main site redo
    etc etc

Remember your main offer is to hook them in. The real sales professional learns to upsell.

Start off with what you are comfortable with and go from there. You have years till you have to do this to feed a family. Learn the ropes of running a business now and you will be golden.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • I'm not sure if this has been said yet, but why are you charging $500 with a $10/month recurring fee? If someone is willing to pay $500 initially for a site they are going to be willing to pay more than $10/month. Try $297 startup fee and a recurring $49/month (at least).
    • [ 4 ] Thanks
  • I agree with nicksway...lower the upfront costs, then raise the recurring fees. The idea is to get them signed up...then passive income.
  • Put your hustle suit on and go make some money. Let us know how it goes

  • I think "brave" really depends on what business you're going into. Walking into normal everyday businesses isn't too intimidating, trying to sell a mobile website to the whitehouse however might be intimidating.

Good luck! Keep it simple, have a plan, stay focused, don't give up if a few people say no, and you will succeed if you're willing to examine yourself and learn. You could EVEN take those recorded conversations, post them here, and people WILL help you succeed. =]

ps. THAT would be brave imo lol

  • You just read my Mind. I've discovered that sitting with the Computer for 18 hours just reading without taking action will not produce result. Meet your target audience, show them the problem and let them know you can provide solution's; you're a sure winner.

Forget about just sending emails or cold calling to business owners. Go and meet them. That's where you can close the sales and not just hiding behind a computer.

Rejection may occur, its part of business; don't be discourage. Imaging closing 5 deals from every 50 people you meet. The successful offline experts are those who actually took their time to fix appointment with clients and sell the over. People want to deal with those they know and trust.
  • Starting at 16 is a brave decision. Learn through mistake, the best way to learn anything. You have many years to learn. Don't give up in any situation. If you fail, treat that as an experience, the most valuable thing for learning. Best of luck.
  • You got balls, kid. That's what it's all about.

The kid that cuts my lawn door-knocked me at age 14 and asked for my business. I happily gave it to him.

Keep hustlin' -- you got more guts than I bet most adults here on this board has.
  • Any updates on this? Made your first sale yet?

    • $297. and $47. monthly is my sweet spot. Like others have said, be prepared, be yourself, sell a solution and try to stay with one market. You will get to be known as the expert to go to.

Make sure you always leave a flyer with them if they don't have time for your demo. (follow up with a call)

I focus only on restaurants, pick 15 a week off Google without a mobile site, make up a demo site with their logo and demo a QR code for their print material that takes the user to their mobile site.

I only go see them Monday to Wednesday from 10am - 4pm. Their slower times. You get their undivided attention this way.

Stick with your demo on your phone and do not get caught up in long conversations. I give them no more than 45-60 minutes.

Here's a personal tip. If you can, get an iPad or Tablet. If you get the go-ahead for the site after the demo (ask for the sale), just bring up a bookmarked page with an order form connected to a PayPal subscription button so you can get their cc info on the spot. Just set up your PayPal button with a 30 day trial at $297. and your monthly at $47.

At the very least, get the payment info right there... if you don't, it gives them time to change their mind. (I used to go create their site on goodwill, then invoice them, make that chase them).

Luck is something you create... go get em!

    • Lol. Sorry I completely forgot to update this thread.

I ended up going to about 8 different places, I got a lot of people who said "I'll call you" and never recieved any clients, sadly. I'm deciding on whether to start cold calling or what, because I really need the money.

I have a client whom I'm gonna do a site for $300 this week (family friend and the site is for a good reason).

But other than that, I'm working on my client acquisition I need some ideas!

      Thanks,

  • I think you are better off using telemarketing so you can already go into the meeting with an interested party who views you as a competent professional instead of a random solictator.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Hi,

I didn't read the whole thing but what I do for local marketing to get client is pretty simple ...

I usually send many letter to local business (video, power point, sale letter etc... choose what you want)

The first thing I do is create a FEAR EMOTION to get them to act fast... I put on the letter "TIME SENSITIVE MATERIAL - THIS PACKAGE HAS BEEN SENT TO ALL OF YOUR COMPETITOR"

When they see it ... fear of competitor comes in and now they open in it quickly and watch my stuff right away .

After that ... I give so much value from my service and create some other kind of fear by saying I'll work with a small group of business or one business per niche ...

Now guess what? Ring Ring Ring ... I control the frame I can create as much value as I want ..

    That's my 2 cent tips
  • @ money maker...

AWESOME that you are doing this at 16.

At this age your sales experience will either scare the heck out of you for ten years and you may not try it again even though you are perfectly capable OR you will succeed and get the "fever" knowing you can close and maybe end up becoming a millionaire by twenty one.

So, with that in mind I'd like to see you take the millionaire route and tell you this.

"You didnt fail in your idea".

You just didnt do it according to the laws of sales success.

The guys that go out door to door and succeed are knocking on 50-100 doors per day 5 days per week, and it takes most of them a couple of weeks to even get good at it.

Now that sounds like alot of work, but alot of these guys make 100k or even 300k per year or more doing it.

You dont need anyone else to prop you up...go out and let people like you by yourself and pave your own way, you will feel very empowered and ready to train others confidently saying "i did it, so I know it can be done".

If you dont know that for yourself then you will buy every excuse that your future sales staff try's to sell you.

However if you DO learn it and put yourself through every scenario they could possibly go through, and you succeeded and closed ANYWAY...then you wont buy their excuses when they come, and you will be able to DRIVE a sales team hard, and unabashedly.

    On a more relevant point....

To expound on Mikes thoughts... I would do this with 20 and not ten... Mike is in a MAJORLY competitive market with a much smaller window (ei a smaller call list) and because of that his closing ratio has to be HIGH HIGH HIGH...

You will need more volume in your industry than he does because he HAS to have a high closing ratio, so go for at least twenty per day.

A: Decide what street you want to hit.

B: Go to the library and open up the "haines criss cross directory".... it will give you every building including houses in the region, listed by the STREET NAME... and all the pertinent info about the occupants.

C: This way you can hit all of your desired businesses on the same street and be efficient
    .
D: This also helps because you can say to a guy "I was just talking to your neighbor over here about this, and I thought I would stop in and introduce myself while we are out this way..."

Gives you an automatic warm up line for everyone you talk to... and even a little "perceived" credibility by association.

E: Pick the "type" of business on that street that you want to target . ie; not nail salons...lol

F: Picking a niche to start when going door to door helps because instead of shifting vibes on every call, you get a feel after a few calls of that industries vibe and you can work more efficiently.

    Now as MB said:

G: Each night make the EXACT list of businesses you are going to hit the next day , in the exact order you plan to hit them.

H: This will "pre-pave the way" in your mind. See yourself getting a warm reception from each listing you write down.

I: Now you are no longer operating out of chaos and whatever comes your way, you are operating rather out of a prepaved plan that you saw yourself doing ahead of time, and it goes more smoothly.

    Lastly,

    If this fails "cold call".

This is a crucial time because you KNOW the money is in "sales", and you are 16...you could really excel, but if you let yourself get a bad mental anchor to the one thing that can make you a self made millionaire faster than anything else...it will bug you for years, and you may not get back to it for years... When it only takes a FEW WEEKS to become a good salesman if you apply yourself, and with that skill you can easily become a millionaire, it just depends on how much you want to do the thing that you have learned to do like the back of your hand...

In closing, now you know why I push telemarketing ahead of time. In two hours you could set two appointments with two business owners who have invited you out and are anxious to see you, and you dont even have to leave your desk or the air conditioning.

    Hope this helps.
    Good luck!

    OH PS.

Dont hit any major chain stores or corporations at your price point, you will only get the answer "we run everything through corporate and cant make these decisions".

You want BIG money go for corporations, you want quick sales and a higher volume of customers, go for independently owned small businesses "mom and pop".
    • [ 4 ] Thanks
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Why not outsource this to India / Phili or even costa rica..

They do the telemarketing, gatekeeper passing and forward you a positive leads of a business that i willing to take your service and has confirmed the same on the recording.. you pay them per confirmed lead..

This lets you concerntrate on being creative for the clients you get.. and ensure that most of these positive leads get converted...

As said above "Its smart to work smarter not harder "

    Good Luck!!

  • I thank you all for the encouragement I really need to look over it again. I need some consistant income like $1,500 a month. I'm getting frustrated because I can't get any clients!

I keep moving from different WSO's I bought. Say one is on doing local websites I start working a little bit on it then I go to Rental Websites/Lead Gen then I see a WSO on Mobile Websites then I go for that and don't take action, then I find reputation management and I now want to work on that. I think that's super powerful, let me know if anyone has experience with it. I'd love to get some help! Thanks!

    • your joking right ??? you just said "I keep moving from different WSO's I bought"

that means you KNOW what your problem is, and how to fix it, and then
in the same breath you say you again want to jump ship to reputation management?

Not to be an *sshole. but dude. STOP. Start over. Pick one,

Learn it, Live it, Love it

You will never ever have success jumping around. ever.
So Pick one, or give up and save your self a ton of aggravation
      and money.

Just saw the last post where you say you want to do reputation management. Ummmm STOP and re-read your first post where you say you don't want to keep jumping around. Stick with the mobile websites and keep going around.

So...how are you adjusting your plan?

If you stick with cold walking and do it for a month, ramping up the number of visits like John suggested, you will become good at it and make money for the rest of your life with this new skill.

Actually, I don't know of any major skill that only takes you a month to learn...and PAY OFF!! Being a chef? Metalworker? Painter? Nope.

A month may seem like the longest time in the world to you now--but let me tell ya: it's going to pass by. You're going to live through it and it's going to be in the past. So what do you want out of it? Do you want to go back to school with no money, or do you want to go back with huge bragging rights and a fat bank account?

Not to mention a super skill that will pay you for the rest of your life?

this is not the 1950s and you are not part of amway...dont waste your time
  • Good for you! You did the most important thing in succeeding. You took ACTION! Next to taking action the most important thing in succeeding is FOCUS. Just pick your focus and go for it. It's always a numbers game. Experience increases the number of successes.

I know from experience that going from one "shiny object" to the next will do nothing but end up wasting your time - and therefore your life.

Just pick something = and focus ALL your energy there and you will succeed. Mobile is the future and it will only get easier as people understand it. right now it's about educating people on why they need it. They do need it now - some niches more than others - they just don't realize they do. They're too busy trying to run their business. but if you stay with it you will have them calling you in six months - and you'll be scrambling to find people help you fill all the order. That's why I'm focusing on mobile - and starting with mobile websites...

    You can do this!!

    • Moneymaker 14; You have received some fantastic advice from the best in the business.

Jason Kanigan, Ken Michaels, John Durham and a couple others are giving you gold here.

What do you know how to do today? Do that.

And walk in 20 doors a day. Really. You have already done the hardest part. You have already had your approach rejected. See? You aren't bleeding, and nobody is yelling at you.

Use Kanigan's approach he gave to you earlier in this thread. Sell one product.
If someone asks you a question about mobile sites that you can't answer, just find the answer. In a week or so, you'll find you know plenty.

I knocked on doors for over 25 years. It paid very well. You develop skill, It happens fast. A month from now, you won't believe how easy it is.

And know this; Right now, in your city, there are business owners that are actually thinking about getting a mobile website. You just need to find them. It isn't "why am I getting no sales?" it's "How fast can you walk?"

Imagine that there are 20 business owners that called you this morning and said "I want a mobile website. If you can find me today, I promise I'll buy from you. I'm waiting" What would be your next move?
Start printing flyers? NO! Read another WSO? No! Study direct mail?...work on a fact finding interview approach to determine needs so you can do a needs analysis to arrive at a mutually advantageous service package? No...no..no... You would go out right now and start the treasure hunt.

And the first day it rains? Call them on the phone. It's faster.

I have faith in you and can't wait to hear about your first victory.

Added later: My God! I just clicked on Kanigan's script link. He gave you an entire presentation from soup to nuts. I thought it was his "Columbo" approach. You are now armed and dangerous. Go get em.
      • [ 2 ] Thanks
  • BTW - I just subscribed to this thread so I will be following your success!
  • Money maker,

I'm 16 years old as well. It's nice to see other guys as young as I getting out there and taking some action. Awesome! I suggest that you continue doing your "cold walks" but in addition, START COLD CALLING! If you need the money, this will help you get there. Arguably it is more time efficient than walking into businesses, although that is still a great method (takes a lot of guts, too!).

You have the resources and tools to be successful. I have a feeling you will be if you keep at it. Focus, focus, FOCUS.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Try make the price sound cheaper rather tell them the price. You might separate with the $500 to monthly as well or how it cost $500 to setup one mobile design website.
Because $500 might sound lot toward a offline business especially.
Don't just simply buy any WSO and jumping around it take your lot of your times and money. Search the only effective one.
  • You definitely can get clients and make money going door to door, but I think a better more efficient way of obtaining offline clients for your mobile business is through the use of "Direct Response" advertising (Post cards, flyers, classified ads, emails etc. ) that presents a problem and then provides free information on how to solve that problem (free: report, consultation, audit etc.).
  • You are of 16 years now. you have TIME to experiment IDEAS and plans which rolls in your mind. It better to take action instead of talking about this.

M here to know about your success story. pls share with us!
  • Forgot about this thread.

    Moneymaker hows it going now?

I can only agree with the others on the following points.
    1. Pick something. Don't jump from service to service.
    2. Choose how you will get leads. Cold walking? If so use the advice here and have a plan and hit those businesses. 8 a day isn't enough unless you are getting into presentations and closing.

    Look forward to hearing more.

    • I'm with you on that. It kills me whan a young person is doing the exact thing needed to succeed. And they quit inches before the finish line.

One thing I learned long ago. Most times you didn't get the sale...you almost did. And most times you do get a sale...you barely did. It's amatter of inches.

And to already be doing the harderst part of the work, and quiting...is sad. I hope this young man doesn't quit. All uf us more experienced guys know...he's almost there.

  • Hey all this is Moneymaker13, I'm still around I turned 17 recently. I'm in need of money big time, I've been doing lots of school, volleyball and other sports and activities.

I really need to spend my time wisely, my free 4-5 hours a day go to sitting on the computer and doing nothing. All I pretty much do is watch porn and read all these new threads and don't do anything. It's annoying as crap, because I know if I dedicated myself to something, I should be able to make some sort of money. I appreciate all the comments/encouragements, etc.. Keep it coming and advice on what I should do next.

    • Moneymaker 13; Guess what I did today? I cold called for a tad over five hours selling a $4,000 small business online marketing package. It's one I've sold through speaking for a few years now.

Want to know what happened? I talked to 48 people. I gave four pretty complete presentations....and didn't sell a damn thing. But guess what I learned?

Nobody yelled at me, nobody hung up on me (that was pretty surprising), and I have 2 appointments for tomorrow.

I actually tried to close over the phone, but my package involves video, and I thought it would be fine if I visited to finalize the details. I'm guessing that they are both real deals...at least nobody has called to cancel their appointment yet.

But if I did nothing else, except sell one a day, thats about a million dollars a year.

Well, I'm not going to spend every day calling names I scraped from Google Places. I have referrals, speaking angagements, and people calling me from seeing my online promotions.

But I hadn't really given it a shot for several hours in a looonnng time.
And now I know I can do it without getting tired. OK, my right hand kept getting numb from holding the receiver..but I'll live.

Here's how I look at it. There is treasure out there. Vast riches, buried where we can find it. This is a treasure hunt. Sure, we'll get more dirt than treasure, but the treasure is worth it many times over.
So, I'm going treasure hunting. The phone is my shovel, the script is my map, all I have to do is dig.

      Happy digging.

  • You can do this! Stay Focused. And like Nike slogan "Just do it".
  • Hi mm13. I can give you some advice. First you need to come read the WF and after that you go watch your porn. lol

I believe you said in one of your posts that you have a plumbers website which is an exact match domain. If this is true you have a money maker right there.

I would not buy anymore wsos for the time being either. To me wsos are just for ideas, not really for a direct path to success (although if you find a really really really good one it might be).

Take that plumbers website and get it to the top of google for its keyword then find a plumber and sell him the leads.

Keep track of the leads through either google voice or callfire. I prefer callfire. Sell each lead for around 20-30 bucks. If you have a hard time getting a plumber to sign up, offer a trial of about a week to show him you can get them customers and there will be no doubt on them about your service. Lead sites usually can sell their selves.

It is possible to make money on mobile sites but I would have to say it is extremely difficult because most people do not see any real value in it unless they themselves surf the net constantly on their phones. Value is the keyword.

I just got a lead site up and running and was about to rent it out for 300 bucks a month. Now I am glad I am selling per lead as I am now making almost 600 a month off of it. I sell the leads for only 10 bucks each and its been great.

    Work your way up.

You can pm me if you have any questions. Good luck.
