SEO vs PPC Management

Which easier to operate and promote?

I was thinking about starting a service similar to local adlink where you ad the company to a directory, and also run a PPC campaign that uses their ad on your site as their landing page.

PPC seems easier to delivery, and the results are faster.

Is there anyone on WF that is doing PPC management?

We provide PPC management. It is different for everybody, depending on what your service is and what other services you provide.

For PPC Mgt, we charge 250/month. This is a loss leader. To properly manage a PPC campaign it takes more time than is worth it for 250 bucks, so it really does not make much money if it does at all.

But what it DOES do, is lead the client into other areas.

PPC is only one part of a complete online marketing program. It should be combined with SEO, email marketing, blog content development and/or social media marketing for a comprehensive program.

ONe strategy is to sell PPC mgt along with SEO and offer a package, where the client gets a price break for getting both services. That way, you gain back your margins with the SEO and the client gets both a short term tactic (PPC) and a longer term strategic play (SEO). Win-win.

PPC management isn't worth your time unless your doing a percentage. However to do a percentage your clients need to have the money such as $5k a month.

Short Term - PPC can produce results and sales quick. However you can also blow your client's money and have nothing to show for it. Know what your doing with PPC otherwise you will loose a client.

Just here to see the shenanigans.

I love SEO... BUT... SEO is for those who are broke and looking for free traffic. It is also for those that look to DECREASE their PPC spending.

PPC, believe it or not, is an easier sell than SEO. Why? Because people are paying for the traffic instead of hoping to get traffic through SEO. The results... are somewhat guaranteed.

You NAILED it. SEO is for people that don't want to spend money. I always tell people to keep running PPC and just add SEO to increase your visibility and traffic. If they are trying to CUT money I don't want to deal with them.

PPC is an easy gateway to so many other things too. PPC when sold in conjunction with a website or something like that gives the wow factor because they start getting business right away from what you've done. It just pushes them over the edge for you being their Marketing Guru.

Let's face it. This is a me first instant gratification society. What better tool to give them than PPC and it's instant results.

      I must missed something.

We offer both services to our clients... I have found that they are easier to sell hand in hand...
I tell clients that we can use PPC as a short term solution while we are getting going on the SEO...
Just pitch SEO as a longer term solution

The great thing with PPC is you can show results very quickly and those results are very trackable. And business owners LOOOOOVE results. Not to say SEO results can't be tracked, but I think PPC is just easier tracking all around. Plus, the speed in which you can increase business with PPC for the business owner vs. SEO isn't even comparable.

One thing to consider if you are going to offer this service is to charge a lower flat rate of maybe $250 (or whatever you're comfortable with) and a percentage of their monthly spend.

    Good luck!

The articles about the death of SEO as we know it have been arriving in my inbox steadily the last couple of days. Obviously PPC will thrive as the money is going directly into Google's bank account.

That's the thing. SEO isn't dead. SEO has it's place while PPC has it's place. They are just tools to be used. People have said PPC was dead before too.

if you are looking to sell a service or product quickly ppc will get you faster results than seo. seo is usually good for blogs who sell free information. it depends on what you want. note that seo takes a long time to implement

The thing is PPC is a much easier service than seo and you get results faster but it is more like a short term solution. The reason most people go for seo is because of free traffic but i suggest PPC sell alongside Seo.

PPC is easy to manage but will work only until U got the money to run..

But, whn it comes to SEO once U invest in the right kind of SEO service U will see traffic coming for a long time which comes depends on the quality of the links built..
