Auto Dialers + Recorded Scripts + Auto Callback Scheduling

I've worked at a call center before. I am not new to sales. I don't generally care to do it, but I have no problem doing it as I must.

However, this whole telemarketing from home is somewhat new to me. Some of the terms and strategies that I read about on this forum are new to me.

That being said, a lot of what is possible and what works is still foreign to me.

I'd like to know about auto dialers; selling my services by way of automatic recordings and such. I know you've probably received a call like this before - but it would be something like this:

Automatic recording: This is "insert company name" calling to tell you about "insert script", you may visit our website at "insert web address", or, to schedule a callback, please press 1.

Thank you, a representative will contact you shortly (within 24 hours - or whatever).

Data gets recorded and a call back is made.

I'm sure the conversion rates would stink, but the volume and time saved might make up for it.

Maybe I'm wrong.

Thanks.

In my opinion, I'm not one to take robotic cold calls. I don't know if it's the thought that its automated or I prefer talking to a real person. In any case, if I were to receive a call like that I'd hang up as soon as I know its automated... Just saying.

Yeah, I'm sure most people would hang up. Although, these recordings are not robotic...they're real voices. I could easily get my pitch across before the prospect even knew it was a recording - and they might even be interested by then.

The conversions are going to be extremely low, but imagine if you could get out 5000+ calls/day without making a call yourself and/or paying someone else to do it? Even if you sold 1 website/day, it would be worth it. What is that, like 0.0002 conversion rate? I don't even know...but that seems doable. Obviously, you'd need multiple lines dialing out simultaneously and you'd need a carrier that didn't have a strict fair usage policy.

I don't know, this is all new to me - but if the cost of setting something like this up was reasonable, it would certainly be worth testing out...wouldn't you say?

I could hire a woman with a sweet voice, record multiple scripts for conversion testing while simultaneously testing each script on a different phone line, and have the entire process automated.

According to Manta, there were over 29,000 newly formed businesses in the US, within the last week. 71,000 within the last two weeks. And these are just new businesses.

I'm sure I'll get a lot of flack from this thread...but it's good to learn and brainstorm.

I hate those calls & always hang up. I know it's a number game and you will get SOME leads, but just not my style.

I had one guy who harvested my number from the net, and then he didn't set up his "do not call" feature correctly so I got automated calls every day for like a month. Every time I'd call the number it would just go to voicemail.... Erg.. lol

In case anyone is interested (doesn't look like it), I did find this:

    Voicent Auto Dialer

This should do the trick. Now, I just need to find a good VOIP service that will allow me to make several hundred calls a day on autopilot.

Wow that looks expensive because you are going to need multiple channels.
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[6227914].message }}
  • Profile picture of the author Stranger Danger
To start, you only need one channel. Besides that, it's not expensive at all when you consider the amount of time and money that you would save not having to do it yourself. Imagine if you hired a telemarketer...your costs would exceed the cost of the software in the first week.

I would give it a shot.
Maybe with the trial version first, and using an Unlimited Skype account???

Here is my only problem with something like this, and the reason I haven't done it yet.
I would like to do the 5k per day, like you.
However, if all the calls go out at the same time, and you have 2 people want to talk to you right away....They can't.
So, you have a hot prospect that you can't talk to....

    Hi, vndnbrgj.

Yeah, unless we're able to find a more suitable (cost-effective) alternative by then, we're definitely going to test this out once we're all set up.

Having two, interested prospects is not a problem, actually. The auto dialer can be set up however you like. For example, you can have it say something like this: "please press 1 to be transferred to a live agent" (or) "if you would like to schedule a call back, please press 1"

You can set it up to do a number or different things, which is pretty cool.

    I would go with it.
I would consider the trial version. Listen to the call to see how they are pushing the branding in it. Unless, you have the few hundred to try it.
And go with a Skype subscription plan.

Yeah, I'm actually trying to find an alternative to Skype, since their fair usage policy prohibits us from calling more than 50 numbers per day.

Once we set this up, we'll have it call our personal numbers to see how responsive it is going to be, and whether or not there are going to be any delays and what not.

I apologize, I saw that in the other thread you started.

This sounds to me like an awfully complicated process for avoiding actually talking to people. However, the proof's in the pudding...data will tell the story.

I think it might suit you well to go through a wholesale auto dial provider.

Did this in the mortgage business, worked out very well. We paid an admin fee, plus a flat fee per live transfer.

You're right about conversion rates though, they'll be super low. You'll need a massive database to be able to dial m-f. Also, your closing rate will suffer some until you get your recording tuned enough to properly prequal.

One more thing, to do it professionally like this you'll probably need a couple of tms to live qualify leads. Once the phone starts ringing you'll be getting hit with live transfers once or twice per minute. Qualified prospects are then transferred to a closer (you).

Hour this helps you out, interested in hearing how it works for ya.

It's bad enough when a person cold calls, let alone a recorded message or robot......Now this really is SPAM!

Hmm, just took the time to reread your op... Didn't see that your script was not live transfer, but rather "schedule a call back".

IMHO, I think these conversion rates might be 80-90% lower than regular live transfer leads; you'll completely lose your sense of urgency.

    Hello!

If you let automated machines answer calls, people usually hang up. Even recorded messages sounds cold. You can try a wholesale auto dial provider. It's effective and easy. You can work well with it and it has less hustle.

    Best of Luck!
