Offline Business Builder Series: "Here's How She Almost Seduced Me Away From My Offline Business"...

Hey Offliners,

There was a point in my offline business where I was almost tricked into losing my entire little offline empire.

It didn't happen overnight, but over the course of a few month's, I almost lost everything I had built up because I was lulled into a false sense of security.

It started really simple.

One day I was managing my call center team of four telemarketers and one of them decided that she couldn't keep up the work schedule because she had too much personal stuff going on.

Of course, I wasn't excited about that, but it happens and I moved on. But, in moving on, I made a critical mistake.

My critical mistakes was that I didn't replace her right away and that started a chain reaction. I just simply continued on with the three telemarketers that I had.

Next, thing I know, one of my best guys begin to ask a ton of weird questions about the services that we were selling.

He was asking the type of questions that communicated his own personal disbelief in the effectivenss of the marketing campaigns that we were offering to the prospects he was calling.

Well, one thing led to another and he gradually faded into oblivion because he could no longer get his head around what he was selling.

Then, before too long, the last two telemarketers begin to call less and less and before you know it, I was down to one telemarketer who only called a couple of times a week.

Needless to say, that dropped off to nothing.

Now, this happened over the course of about two months so it didn't happen all in one day, otherwise I wouldn't have been lulled into thinking things would work out alright without me taking some drastic action.

See, during this whole situation, I was lulled into doing nothing because of procrastination and the lack of a sense of urgency.

I made excuses like...I can dedicate more time to my existing clients if I don't have to spend as much time following up with new leads.

But, the fact of the matter is I couldn't afford to have waited one day to get new telemarketers and keep up the momemtum that I'd built.

It was like I was in denial about what was going on.

See, all of the reasons I had for not taking drastic action are what I now like to call seductive arguments.

Seductive arguments have a kernel of truth that's wrapped in a bunch of excuses which will ultimately lead to not taking action.

So, if you're not experiencing the level of success in your offline business that you want, then it may because you're not taking drastic action to generate leads, close prospects that you've met with or upsell existing clients into lucrative monthly packages.

No matter the problem, I've found that many times it can be solved by taking quick and serious action on several fronts to fix it...fast.

Hope this helps,

Chris
