Quick way to find competitors GP citations with SB

Ok hey guys,

I'm certainly no stranger to the warrior forum, although I have never posted in this area before. In recent weeks I have been taking action trying to get my offline business started here in the UK. In order to get started I began reading all the useful knowledge here and every where else I could find. All in all, I have 3 clients which I am working on for free in order for publicity, recommendation and video testimonials.

I started out firing up Google and searching for addresses and business names trying to find where competitors citations were hiding, then it occured to me that I have Scrapebox which indeed means I am wasting valuable time not using it! Heres how I harvest directories which others are using.

1. I go to Google and type in "type of business" and "Location"

2. I take the first GP listings and those with lots of reviews and copy the business name and the address, sometimes including the phone number

3. I open scrapebox and in the keyword section put the name in quotes with the address using the AND or OR operators, so it would look a something like this:

"Megatrons School Of driving" AND OR "Motoring" AND "123 Robo Street 03442344"

I then harvest urls.

4. Trim URLS to the root domain and export the list to a folder

5. Rinse and repeat for as many as you deem fit

6. Start adding and combining all the lists together with the import function

7. Remove all duplicates with the function provided

8. Voila....now just to PR check the best ones and start building citations from there.

I know its not much of a contribution but it sure does save me a hell of a lot of time, maybe if you have other methods you would care to share them in this thread?

A quiet word in your ear though, make sure you are using an proxy in your area or state, basically as close to you as possible. I generally just use my own IP without proxies as the results returned are usually less than 500.

Scrapebox does also have a "learning mode" to teach it how to post, so I am going to see If i can teach it to post to the best directories which I will be using a lot when I start taking on other clients as anything which can speed the process up a bit would help. Obviously I am not talking about building mass citations overnight, but maybe 10 a day...slowly slowly catchy monkey

Anyway, hope this helps some of you.

D.

I just pay for a report showing me the amount of citations the average competitor has, how many my client has, and how many are available.

Hm, actually there are at least 2 tools that are doing this same thing:

    - Whitespark's Local Citation Finder

    - Getmelisted.net
