Outsourcing Directory sites like YP and Manta?

I've looked countless times on fiverr. There's a chance i'm not using the correct terminology, but i cannot find a qualifying gig. Is this too much work for 5 dollars? Any help on outsourcing this service, please.

    I actually found it with some more searching. If someone else finds this thread, I just searched for "local directories" and a bunch came up. Hope this helps someone find what they are looking for.

        Yeah, I keep seeing these kinds of spam on multiple threads at least once a week. Not sure if it's the same person or not.

        really pointless too as their sig links are empty and they are not promoting anything anyway...

      Odesk is really great. I pay the gal I use $50. She submits to about 130 directories. Could I get it done cheaper. Probably. But she does a good job and always meets her deadlines.

    I am amazed how it's possible that so many people keep looking for such kind of services on Fiverr, Odesk, Elance, and the likes. You will get the business (probably) listed on a few directories, most probably you will get NO log ins for these listings, most probably the keyed in information will only be the required one (name, address, phone). These will be wasted money. If you read some authoritative sources, and especially Google's "Generating Structured Information" patent, that is very closely related to citations.

    Oh, and additionally, it is very possible that your clients are already listed on a number of the local business directories (like the mentioned by the OP YP.com and Manta.com), but I am 99.9% sure that the people at Fiverr and Odesk would never check if the business already exists there. They will simply go on and list it again.
