To those offering SEO to a specific market

For those offering SEO work to a specific market, such as Dentists for example.

I'm not sure if I got this right, but you will be approaching several different dentists to see if they want to get their site ranked. Example "Dentist in Ohio".

Wouldn't you have a number of sites under you which are competing for the same keyword? Assuming 3 clients. Trying to get those 3 clients' website ranking first page for the same keyword?

Or do you guys just move on from state/country to the next?

      You can have several seo clients in the same industry in the same area if they don't compete for the same keywords with no problem.

      If they compete for the same keyword and know it and still agreed to hire you, no problem.

      If they compete for the same keyword and you didn't tell them you were working on the same keywords for other dentists, problem.

      Your best approach is to have a client going for Chicago dentist, one client for Chicago family dentist, one client for Chicago children's dentist, for instance.

      Or,

      1 client in Chicago, 1 in Milwaukee, 1 in Boise, 1 in Charlotte.
