Ok guys, so I've heard that the closer you are to the city center, the better for you and google places. The problem is that I live in the outer edge of the city.

I read somewhere that getting a virtual office could be a solution. So I called a lot of virtual offices and all are around $50 per month to rent a PMB with their suite address.

So the address would look like this: 123 Main Street, Suite 100 PMB 13, City, State, ZIP. Would google have a problem with this address even if I changed it to 123 Main Street, Suite 100 #13, City, State, ZIP?

Has anyone doing google places done something similar and gotten an address with a suite number and an additional number for the postal mail box?

Now, I know postal mail boxes are against google's terms but it's what's being recommended out there by the google places gurus to get close to the city center and simply replacing PMB with a # tag to make it look like a suite.

Or does the address even matter at all if I live in the outer edge of the city and hide it because no one should show up at my location. (plumbers, cleaning services, electricians, etc)? I've noticed that google places has an option to type in the zip codes you provide services to.

So please, let me know what you think. I've been stuck on this issue for a while now and don't know how google will take an address with a suite number and a sub PMB number.

Also, please let me know if you have experience with google places. It's hard to distinguish advice from experienced people and people who just want to post what they think and not what actually is better. Thanks!

First thing to consider is whether to show your address at all. Google is getting very aggressive in policing whether your address should be listed. Even calling your business with confusing questions that could result in a suspension if your Places is set up incorrectly. They basically state that if your business model is to go onsite to where your customer is that you should hide your address and create service areas. Even if a customer comes to your office for a meeting or to pay a bill occasionally (paraphrasing Google's statement). Not listing your address doesn't seem to have a negative affect on your ranking.

On the other hand you can easily put a suite number instead of the box number. Google says to put suite numbers on the second address line.

I wouldn't worry about the address. Use your title & description this way on the home page of your website SEO settings:

Title: Your Business Name in Your City — Call Us At (XXX) XXX-XXXX
Description: Company Name - 123 Main Street, Suite xxx, city, State, Zip specializing in ______________ (end description with your business name in your city)

This information should be exactly as you have it on your places page. Plant that same info around the web. Your places page will be #1 before you know it.

I would not worry about the address that much. It is much more important to get reviews on Google Places and other relevent sites, backlinks and other thing needed for you Places site. Videos, pictures and other thing that are on Google Places and also on YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and other Social Medai or not SM linking back to Google Places are very good. It is important to have as much content as possible and content is also videos and pictures.

I resently did a my first Google Places canpagne for a hospital and clinic with 3 locations "and lots ofr doctors and profesors" and using my methiod got them listed on Googles page 1 in the top 5 for 88 different keywords with 42 or 43 number 1 rankings and all this in just 41 or 42 days. I used Places Scout and my thoughts of what they needed. It made me over $ 12,000 and I worked on it for 1.5 months about 1 hour per day max. I now get 750 € per month (about $ 1,000) and work about 1 - 2 hours a week on it max.

Try to be natural and look natural for Google that is the key.

Good luck and hope this helps
