I have been in IM online for 3 years and have done pretty decent. I recently started delving into the offline business due to the great people on the warrior forum but have difficulty starting because of certain things. So any help would be greatly appreciated as I am normally not one to ask.

1.I know how to use wp for my own site as well as build sites for clients but I don't know how to transfer it to them, create mockups or anything about how it's done.

2.I have local clients who need seo but I am not sure who to outsource to which makes answering quotes difficult.

3.I am battling between web design, seo and direct mail as my main service because I don't want to go in over my head.

4.All of these things affect how I want to structure my site because I don't know where to start.

Guys, I am open for any suggestions that would help. I am a total newbie to offline and this is my first post so I am looking forward to your feed back. Thanks!

Personally, i would not start selling anything you don't know how to do yourself.

Take some time, learn how to make mock ups, learn how to do seo, actually do some direct mail for yourself.

Assistants, outsourcers, employees, they all come and go, and if you rely 100% on everyone else, if some one leaves in the middle of a campaign,
or if some one is doing things wrong... what are you going to do?

if your already familiar with wp, then websites would prob be your
easiest foot in the door. Plus websites are retarded easy to sell compared
to some other things, like seo, where you have to educate the customer.

    just my 2 cents

Thanks,Ken. Your 2 cents is much appreciated as I have seen you help many people in the forum. While I am not a novice at doing seo,I am no expert either. I figured that it would be too time consuming to do it myself when I could outsourced it to someone more experienced as opposed to direct mail which is something completely new to me. I understand what you mean though about understanding eggs before buying the chicken.

I agree with KenMichaels that getting some confidence under your belt is an important first step. Learning how to process through the steps of an online business is a critical skillset, as it will help you more effectively sell to offline clients.

With that being said, outsourcing of the various components of an offline business is very smart. You don't need to be an expert in everything, you just need to know who is, find out their fees, and then price up your offerings accordingly to include the fulfillment charges. For example, Joe Finn on the Warrior Forum has a fantastic SEO/backlinking service that you could incorporate for your clients. Joe has an exemplary background in SEO and strong reputation here, so would be a good candidate for your SEO work.

Do your due diligence, find other high quality providers, increase your own knowledge, and keep moving forward. You will be successful if you decide to be, and start implementing!

    Good luck!

Do what you know. And you should also learn up easy method how to get those technical stuffs done. You can do a search to learn how to do those. But that doesn't mean that you do everything yourself. You can always outsource to people to transfer a site, to do SEO, to do web site creation... but you can't be a complete illiterate and do not know how all these work to outsource.

So my suggestion, learn up the basic idea, and start getting client to outsource.

Thanks,JaynKeth! Outsourcing is my main goal but learning to transfer sites and make mockups is an area that I do want to learn myself.I just have to do some research and figure it out.

I would suggest you post an ad on Craigslist. Get someone local to install Xampp or something similar on your laptop. Then you can work on client's WordPress sites off-line. Get the same person to help you transfer the sites to the web the first two times. Watch carefully and do it yourself afterwards.

I think I can help you with most of the stuff you're looking to do. I do this stuff everyday for my offline clients and have been able to rank websites as high as the #1 position for a competitive local keyword.

PM me if you're interested and I'll provide you wholesale prices on the work to get you started. I'll even share with you the effective methods that I use to get local clients, if we're going to work together.
