Now that I'm getting a few clients together, and their files, contracts, etc. I've got a folder named "my websites", and each folder inside is named for each client. All of their files are naturally in there. But how do I organize their status I suppose? I've seen in some business owners houses, they have a dry-erase board to keep status and such together. My concern is getting to 10 clients and forgetting certain things to do with them, or processes I must take. I know a calendar would seem like the obvious choice, but I'm looking for the most efficient way you guys have gone about doing stuff like this. Any thoughts? Thanks.

What about a CRM program or excel spreadsheet? Check out sales force.com also.

I'm not sure you are ready to make the plunge BUT, Infusionsoft would allow you to do all of that and MUCH more. It may be a bit overkill for your needs as well.

Infusionsoft is pretty awesome, it does come with a semi steep learning curve.

Does everything you can think of, plus more ... but its not for the faint of heart.

I use Excel and Google Calendar, and between those two everything is organized.

The real question here is, "What will you actually use?"

It's like the question: "What's the best exercise?"

The one that you will do.

Check out asana.com. It's free for teams with less than 30 members.

It sounds like you could benefit from a project management solution. have you checked out Basecamp? Essentially, treating each of your clients as a project? Check out Basecamp by 37Signals: Project management software, online collaboration: Basecamp

Thank you! We are a complete sales and marketing software solution, but project management the way he described it is not a functionality we provide.

Thank you! We're an all in one sales and marketing solution for small businesses. This unfortunately excludes project management. For lead-gen, nurturing and for a powerful CRM, we're solid.

We've recently revamped the interface. It's much easier for new users to master when they get started. Have you tried it out?

For something this simple go for an excel spreadsheet.
There are so many easy ways to manage your clients and activities with that.

Currently I have one spreadsheet for my niche sites its pretty simple horizontally I write the name of my site, you can write the name of your clients if you'd like.
Then vertically I write every step of the process. You can write, in your case, all the possible services you offer, from the first you will offer like site creation or whatever to the last part of your sales funnel or a higher end service. Then simply color code each row, for example green is the process has been done and you write the date it was completed, yellow for something in progress, red for something not yet done or offered. Black for not applicable and so on.

This way at a glance you know where you stand with your customers.

Mindmaps and Excel are the best tools for organizing them Incase you are unable to use them, then do find a good project manager or use some online ones to help you. I also use quickbooks for invoicing. Its awesome.

I really like Bento by FileMaker. Lots of database templates, and very customizable. I use a customized version of Power Projects template (I think that I added an email field so that emails pertaining to the project were linked). They also have some great sales Leads templates.
