Now that I got your attention. I did not make that amount of money,

But you clicked on it, and you were hoping that I had a shiny thing in here, that you to could do what my subject line said.

But - what I did do today is kiss my comfy 9-5 bye bye. I am not going to say how much I made, but I made a very comfortable amount.

I started in offline 8 months ago. I built two offline companies, in my spare time - I surrounded myself with a team of people that are good at what they do. They do the work, I just find new clients, and manage that process.

In 8 months, actually just short of, in my spare time, I accomplished this. 8 months ago, I had never sold a thing in my life, I had never ranked a website, I had never do any of the things that I am now paid to "do".

I would make a long drawn out post here, about "I did this first" - then I did "this" - and "whoopiiee this is the path to success!" but I am not.

Why? Because 99.9% of you won't do what I say I did anyways. And there aren't going to be enough "views" on this thread for the .1 to make 1 person. I mean that in the nicest way. No one listens to free advice. Pay for it, then you get a slighter increase in listening, because it was paid for.

I am not posting a pre-cursor to a WSO - I have already done 2, and I haven't been in here "promoting" those. It's useless to try and do that anyways. Will I be creating more WSOs? Sure. This is not the point.

The point is about the only thing I honestly think this post can accomplish here is "motivating" someone, rather than someone reading an A-Z post on how to get rich.

If I had any advice it is this: Stop thinking like the worker bee and trying to do everything yourself. Start thinking like a boss, and NETWORK you butt off. Dedicate your self to something and ask your self "Are you really in this, or just messing around".

Shout out to my man nameless whose brain I have picked and posts first got me motivated to do something, I'll hit you up later, you need to read the e-mail I sent , it's epic, and David Miller - same to you man, wait till you see how I went out! Your posts actually was the reason I crafted a.. reason to cold call.

Right. A post is only useful if it lays out for you from start to finish exactly how he did it so you can read it and say, "Gee, that is too hard. It will never work." and proceed to continue to sit on your @ss and not do anything but whine about how "this stuff doesn't work."

      Please.......

How is this post useless? Obviously very few people make it to where they want to be and, ultimately, keep looking for that "one thing." We all have limited time to make money...why not copy what successful large companies do, which is pay others to build their empires?

    Taniwha, I'd have to disagree.

Ryan just quit his 9-5 to pursue offline and is now a full-time entrepreneur and one step closer to creating and living his dream lifestyle.

    Useless? No. Motivating? Heck yes!

Congrats Ryan on the MAJOR milestone and achievement!

I personally think this is one of the most valuable threads on here, because I've seen it first hand. I've seen Ryan go from being unsure about this, that, and every other thing to being a legend of confidence. He was able to meet a goal he set, and he has been successful.

THIS is something that a lot of people only dream of. It isn't his responsibility to tell you HOW he did it... he doesn't have to. Other people can do it too if they aren't lazy and have the type of DRIVE it takes to achieve success.

Yes, you can see the progression of my posts through the months. Nameless pointed out when I was wrong, and commended the right.

Nameless, among a few others new I had set a goal to be in a position to do this by June 1. I made it by two days

Thanks brother! I feel 10 lbs lighter.

      And excited.

Many things, words can't describe that only few people understand. When you work hard for something and it pays off, that is priceless, even if I made just enough to meet my needs and still have no boss, that is worth it in itself.

That ain't happening though, going to live very decently and boss free.

Ryan, you totally rock. *hugs* Congrats.

To those who call his post a waste of time, I'm curious:

There are many posts in this forum that (for free) lay out step-by-step plans for a full time business.

How many of those have you read?

How many have you taken action on?

Ryan's post is a model of encouragement and affirmation. He walks the walk.

I certainly don't think it's a waste of time at all.

So guys, where I said "network" many months ago Shay offered to start an offline chat group, WHICH I JUMPED ON (network , right)

          Where are we at today?

Shay is testing out some lead generation strategies, and guess who is getting those leads for services she doesnt provide?

          Me.

Guess who will get taken care of for passing off the leads.

          Her.

My thoughts are the only people who will find this post worthless are the ones who only clicked on it because they are looking for the next "shiny ball" to chase, and they are now disappointed because the shiny ball wasn't found.

It actually WAS found! The "shiny ball" is Ryan's success and it's out there waiting for anyone to reach out and get it!

Inspiration in the form of deciet and negativity is not flattering nor motivating. So I'm honestly not sure how in the world this story motivated some of you people.

Here are some of his key points.

    1) He had to lie to you to motivate you.

    2) He wants you to believe you're all lazy people who won't take action.

    3) He tells an extremely unoriginal, fear inducing, rehashed story of acting like a boss to get as rich as he himself likes to pretend he is (thread title).

    4) What is REALLY "motivating" about his story? I don't get it. Just because it pushes all those subliminal hot buttons and feeds off of your vulnerabilities?

I personally think successful marketers really need to start SHOWING their real level of motivation, by being original, and most of all positive.

"Stop thinking like a worker bee", again, is it good advice? Sure. Could I buy 10,000 PLR products with the same sentence in it? Absolutely.

So again, nothing in this post really struck me in a unique and interesting way, so I was rather shocked to see how many people thanked him.

Makes me believe that almost anyone can write a story on this forum about how they went from rags to riches, and it doesn't even really matter what the story is about, or whether the whole story is even true, but people definitely WILL eat that **** up.

(criticize me if you want but thats my opinion and I'm sticking to it)

Most of the thanks are people who have seen me "outside" of this forum progress in my goals I set forth.

I didn't go from rags to riches. I went from the "comfortable/secure job" - to following a goal through, and doing what I want for my self now.

I have also made many observations, and I learn quick.

      1) Crap, I was caught in a lie. How am I going to sleep with myself tonight?

      2) Most people are not taking action because they are lazy, taking the wrong kind of action i.e. trying to accomplish to much in one day, running in circles, instead of focusing and organizing their time.

      3) This story may not be original in that: I am not the first person to build an offline business in my spare time.

      4) There is nothing motivational about this story.

When did I say any of this was ground breaking, or my advice? I didn't make this up. I didn't re-invent the wheel, I just modified it to fit it where it suits me. I read a lot of books, and successful peoples blogs, etc. I took the tid bits of information and molded it to fit me.

      Believe what you want -

Today was still one of the most liberating days of my life, and you, nor anyone else can take that from me.

If I were you, and you were me, I would more than likely have the same thoughts you would have. Again, the people in here commenting on my behalf, and thanking me, know me outside fo "ryanmckinney" some random poster in the WF.

Yes, anyone can write a story on this forum... it doesn't necessarily mean its true, likr you said.

I've had Ryan on my skype for a while, he's a good guy, he's been through some stuff and has come out of it stronger. I was there when he made his first calls...

I wouldn't say it's rags to riches because Ryan had a pretty nice job before.. I don't think the reason of him getting into this business was because of money, probably more to do with the control, challenge and adventure we go through. It's hard to understand THAT unless you're at a certain point in your journey.

When I see somebody that successfully met their goals and I know they did first hand, that's motivating to me.

The people that this doesn't motivate, are probably people looking for a quick fix solution, or looking for some secret sauce... OR haven't seen the growth first hand. There's nothing wrong with disliking the thread, you just don't see it in the same light as others.

This isn't directed to you whatsoever, but this forum is cancer for some. People are looking for too many answers about too many trivial matters that they dont make any progress. Ryan used to ask a bunch of pointless questions to.. he gained some useful knowledge in the process but the only thing that put it together and allowed him to resign from his job is because he used strategies, he took action in a smart way, not just the DO SOMETHING type attitude that gets nowhere, but he put a plan into motion and capitalized on the results.

I never quit my job to get into this... I didn't have any other option, my back was against the wall and I had to just learn as I go, no time period of just learning and wondering what will work, I had to think, make a plan, execute it, and deliver. I don't know what it feels like to tell your boss to go **** off I'm gunna do my own thing. I wasn't in a position to have money saved up and have the knowledge he has when I first got into this. THAT is why it's MOTIVATING. You don't need a guide to be motivated by something, you just need to relate to it or be able to feel the excitement or the possibilities of a number of people out there. I'm happy for him, and honored to be able to see someone on here succeed, and can't wait to see how far he gets.

If I can step in here for a moment...

I don't know Ryan - but I can honestly say - Congrats!! Feels amazing eh?

Okay - so here's my take on the 'controversy' of this post:

There are many other posts on the forum of people who have had success, and have told others how they did it.

And it's Fantastic that they want to give back...

And for others, (like Ryan), they post that they finally quit a job, or made that sale that kept them off the street etc. And THAT's JUST as powerful as someone who explains it.

I'm saying that because I've been on this forum since the very beginning. (I don't know if my signup date shows properly because Allen imported me when he switched to this new board, but anyway, I've been here from probably month 1).

See, when people post that they did it - immediately there's people who post back begging and pleading to get all the info out of them.

If you're going to use it - great!

        But I'll admit - I've also seen:

        a) some of those people gripe that it doesn't work (but admit they didn't try it) in other sections...

        b) some other people put their own twist on it and make it work for themselves (great!)

        c) others who want to but procrastinate (aka - see too many similar posts weekly and then follow the next thing and not achieve success...)

        d) people who have success and turn it into their own WSO on how to do it (nothing wrong with that)

        e) people who READ the "how I did it" posts... then rewrite it into a wso but they've never actually done it or attempted it themselves, its just based on another person's experience... but they don't ADMIT that unless you suck it out of them (this person is called a "poser")... they sell the hyped up wso's on what they read. (This I don't agree with UNLESS you make it clear that you're selling the idea/concept).

I've seen (e) happen more than a few times, and I can name off the few who do this, one notoriously did it till it finally came out (it was obvious after a few remarks).

I'm not against people who sell wso's, (I do myself on occasion too) - but I think it would be great if Ryan DID put one out on what he did - but even if not, he's entitled to that too.

My point after that long winded post... :p

Some may not feel it's productive or informational... and you're entitled to that opinion.

But rather than gripe, why not simply congratulate Ryan (or anyone else) that they did achieve what they set out to do??

It feels absolutely GREAT to reach a goal/milestone you set out to do, and until you've done it, you won't understand it. (We needed a car desperately 11 years ago - had 60 days to do it... I put my mind to it and bought a brand new car cash... won't bother with what kind because you probably don't care... and to this day people think it's only 1-2 yrs old)

My point is - if you're disappointed - find what works for you and go do it yourself! Experience that elation of SOMETHING you needed or wanted to do...

then come back and post for yourself

          e) people who READ the "how I did it" posts... then rewrite it into a wso but they've never actually done it or attempted it themselves, its just based on another person's experience... but they don't ADMIT that unless you suck it out of them (this person is called a "poser")... they sell the hyped up wso's on what they read.

I don't think I could of broke down the tendencies of "warriors" here reading forums any better.

Why? Because 99.9% of you won't do what I say I did anyways.
      And he's absolutely right.

Let's look at a real world example which is personal for you ,Red.

Bob Ross laid out a full-blown working plan in this forum to easily make $5k/month. At this moment, it has 1,300 posts and 67,000 views. I've counted 5 or 6 Warriors that have actually implemented the plan.

I'm sure there are a few more but come on... I'm not sure how many of those posts are unique, probably 200 but even at that number, we're looking at a few percent of people actually taking action on that and it was given to them on a silver platter.

Truthfully, if you go by the views to make a guess at the number of lurkers, we're probably VERY close to less than 1 in 1000 actually implementing it. Which is Ryan's number, 99.9%.

Why is the truth offensive to so many?

Way to break down the numbers and you are right on.

Disclaimer: I do know Ryan. I do talk to him on a daily basis (just in the last few weeks) and I can tell you he has busted his ass to get to this point. He has taught me many things and is helping me with a little side project I am working on.

Not only is he walking the walk, he's a VERY helpful guy. He emailed all weekend (I needed some time to unplug), but he wanted to wrap this project up.

The guy is the real deal and has introduced me to many people that will help me grow my business. I am very thankful for him teaching me how to network as that is such a big part of this business.

        Bruce Wedding,

Well, with all due respect, so ya wanna break down the numbers down do ya?

How about these REAL LIVE STATS from BOB ROSS' "Private Forum":

        Bob Ross Offline Forum Statistics

        Threads1,592Posts14,828Members2,341Active Members619

Therefore, the STATS above are the proof of the pudd'n!

Meaning, your calculations are WAY OFF! These stats PROVE that WAY more than 1% are implementing (or are trying to implement) Bob Ross' method!

Edit: Just because people don't post their success here on the forum or in a thread, DOES NOT mean that people aren't having successes! Just something to keep in mind!

        Onwards and Upwards!

        JMB

P.S. It really peeves me when people post things about what "they perceive to be correct / reality", when in fact they can be so far off base that it's not worth going there! However, in this case, I felt it was my DUTY to set the record straight on Bob Ross' Blueprint, as people are using it and implementing it (or at least trying really hard to)!

Proof's in the pudding? Are you freakin' serious? Do you know how many WSO's are sold that never even get read, let alone implmented? This forum has 494,000 members and I'd bet the farm that 98% of them haven't made $5,000 on the internet.

Presence in a forum is ZERO indicator of taking action.

2,341 members in Bob's forum, eh? I'll paypal you $50 if you can show me 234 member websites (10%) implementing Bob's system with proof of having mailed one coupon.

I'm sorry if you all felt offended by my post. It's just that when a post tells people that 99% of us are "lazy and will never use the information" for 3/4 of the post, I find it a bit underwhelming. <-- Just my opinion.

Nevertheless, congrats on becoming financially free from your 9-5.

btw...tangent topic I guess...whenever I here people talking about 9-5 jobs, I wonder....where are all these 9-5 jobs? When I had a regular job 8 years ago it was 8-5, 40 or more hrs on a salary position? Is 9-5 hrs a banking job? In what part of the country is 9-5 a regular full time job? When Dolly Parton came out with her song "Working 9-5.." I just thought she probably never had a regular job in her life so she didn't really know what the hours of a regular job are...so I always thought she made a mistake when it should have really been "Working 8 to 5, what a way to make a living...."

Lol. I like the way you think, all the stuff jibbering back and forth, and you spot out this. We more than likely have the exact same sense of humor.

        I actually work *730-*430 but...

9-5 is just easy to say, and it has a great ring to it. Say it aloud:

"I quit my nine ta' five!"

"I quite my seven thirty ta' four thirty!"

No matter what was said, I free'd up 40 hours a week, to focus on this - I stared at my resignation e-mail for about 15-20 minutes.

I got anxiety, I was nervous, but as SOON as I did it, a huge weight was lifted.

@JMB Marketing Group With all due respect...

Ok, I can see that as those people BOUGHT his product. You know what people do with free information?

    Nothing.

    They don't use it.

    Plain and simple.

    And really sad.

Once you have some "skin" in the game, you feel obligated to try a little bit harder, spend a little more time on it. You can do the same with free info, but most don't.

I would be willing to bet on the thread (not that sales thread, the thread started in this offline section) that is probably is closer to that 1%. Let's say 5%.

    Still sad.

Ryan was offering free advice/inspiration/motivation and people are going to treat it as such, "free, I can't do anything with that"

    Wrong

Hustle should be in everyone's vocabulary on this forum, but it's not.

    You want success?

    Work hard. Bottom line.

      Yes and No!

However, I believe a lot of people bought because of the INITIAL free information. However, it is still unbelievable, even though it was free and they signed up and HOW ACTIVE those members are there!

Let me give you an example:

John Durham gives TONS AND TONS of FREE STEP-BY-STEP INFORMATION HERE!

He offered TONS OF FREE INFORMATION (just like Bob did) in his thread BEFORE he offered his WSO"!

However, his private forum, is NOTHING compared to Bob's! It is quiet as a mouse! It was since day 1 (even though the membership included some very well known gurus and heavy lifters!)

So, please don't tell me that just because peeps bought a WSO, based on free information, is going to translate into a thriving and enlighenting forum! In my experiences, hopefully, but NOT NECESSARILY so!

You see, Bob is onto something here ... something that a lot of people have taken notice of and can ACTUALLY IMPLEMENT, EASILY!

What Bob offered in giving away free information and then offering it as a WSO, were means for people to immediately effectively and efficiently implement it! Unlike, other WSOs that are were also sold here based upon "great threads and replies" here in the Offline arena.

      Onwards and Upwards,

      JMB

P.S. I wish John's forum was more active. He put a lot into his product and forum! It's hard so say why some WSO purchased forums are more active than others.

By the way, as I gave an example of John Durham's, unfortunately, as his HIGHLY ACCLAIMED WSO private forum is NOT THE ONLY ONE that didn't do well in the private member's forum arena (there are others ... which other WF members may know)! However, I merely mentioned John as he's the most recognized and respected Warrior here. Sorry John for using you as an example, but that's the reality based on my purchases and experiences here! I still wuv ya! You definitely deserve more ACTION in your forum!

I was a part of John's forum since day one and I disagree it was "quiet as a mouse since day one". It was active the first few months, maybe year, I am not sure.

Bob has put together a very solid product and has helped me along the way. I used to visit his forum, but it didn't line up with some of the things I was doing so I haven't logged in in a few months.

Also, most people HATE cold calling! John is big on cold calling. Bob is about direct mail (visiting biz face-to-face) 2 separate approaches. What I have found out is that just about anyone will do anything to avoid the phone.

It doesn't matter what John teaches (I owe a LOT of my success to him so I am not hating) a lot of people are looking for an "easier" option because they hate the phone.

I think it's not a fair comparisons. Also, John launched that forum in September of '10, almost 2 years ago.

The point I was trying to make, based on your stats about threads about FREE information, and THEN someone buying a WSO is that there are more active people who end up BUYING a WSO.

Please, I wasn't saying that one person's WSO was better than an other's. Or, that someone's forum was better than another's.

I was merely trying to present some facts.

Why someone's "offline" forum is more active, does not necessarily mean that it is better. What I tried to portray is that some topics are more interesting or better suited to those that are seeking the "holy grail"

I hope this message put this debate to rest!

Besides, it's all about what others think on how they can succeed no matter what YOU or I THINK!

          Edit: To each his own!

        Appreciate the love. lol

Here's the thing though... "I" am a person who can make my forum active at will, which is why you dont see me worried about any down fall... If I wanted to within 2 weeks it would be back to being active 24 hours per day... Believe it!

The "sheep" fail...I am not a sheep though.

I just get bored and put my energy into other projects.... Still the same champion marketer I was in the booth. I dont "fail".

If you want to make it interesting we can place a wager.

BTW I dont want to "highly acclaim" anything... but well.... If you just read the red highlights, you will get the picture.

I am working on about 7 different jobs for clients, with 3 brand new ones in the last week....All this, 100% of the work, purely from picking up the phone and dialling cold numbers....I pretty much use John Durhams exact script in his Free Telemarketing Report.

I picked up a $450 check for my first $1,000+ week!

Not above them, nor not below them... that is what has been holding me back from calling... I've always felt below... a beggar... a salesman pleading for a sale...
Thanks for those key words in your report... it has opened up my mind on this subject and given me a clear path to picking up the phone without reserve.

I bought his course, and I am admittedly truly not a sales person. I was also somewhat apprehensive about cold calling. I called 103 businesses and signed up 2 customers for websites costing $499 plus recurring of $25.00. It might not sound like much, but to me it was like winning the lottery.

I have a son that had huge medical expenses and we needed to still eat, be sheltered and at least try to pay off the medical expenses. In many ways John's course saved my family. It also led to another offline project which is making me $1,200 recurring income and will soon replace the income of both myself and my wife. I anticipate workibng only a couple more months and then my recurring income is going to dwarf anything I've ever made before.

John's teachings have truly saved my life and family from sure financial disaster. There is no way for me to thank him enough for his help.

This approach will surely help me to reach my goal of having 150-200 clients on my books. Only 143-193 more clients to go!
There are 24-25 testimonials here and 21 of them say "I made money" .Thats less than a tenth of the testimonials, but why run it into the ground?

The MOST difficult thing in my opinion is Mindset. Most of us have similar skills, its really just how you approach letting go of the JOB mentality and becoming a full time Internet Marketing/Entrepreneur.

Brad Gosse's Chronic Marketer talk's about that - looking at your self and figuring out if you have what it takes..

What are you doing here? Are you just testing the waters? Or do you have that "spirit" - I knew what I was doing, and I knew the time was near, it was time to take that leap.

Ryan you said in one of your post "There is nothing motivational about this story". I have to say you are wrong. I see it as a journey from just starting out to crossing the finish line with victory.

I have set a 6 month goal to say good-by to my 5-9 and the progress looks good so far. So thanks for sharing and encouraging myself and I am sure others on the forum.

One thing people miss is, there are always people willing to do what you won't or are afraid to do. For example, there are many telemarketers you can hire to sell your services on a per lead basis.

You don't have to pick up the phone. You may just have to pay someone to do it. I've got a guy that is freakin' amazing, generates leads like a machine. And no, you can't have his name or number.

This post is pure genius. Instead of lambasting Ryan for not spilling the beans, how bout' you hating folks take a leaf out of his book and take action on one of the many gorgeously laid out plans here?

Besides, if he had gone into detail, most of you would've probably gotten turned off by the fact that it takes work to implement any sort of business plan.

    Way to go Ry!!!
Lets not miss the main point her folks... it seems to have been lost. Ryan is just trying to tell everyone who wants success to not only "take action" which is what's always repeated, but MAKE A PLAN AND WORK YOUR PLAN!!!
Ryan has always been very helpful and humble... shooting straight and never self promoting. Hell, he doesn't even promote his own WSO's in a signature. Qualities he has no doubt carried throughout his life and strengthened in the Marine Corps.
I am sure many find it very inspirational to know they can do what he's done in less than eight months. Those who way anything negative just cast doubt as to it's validity, hurting those whom Ry is trying to help, but not hurting Ryan in the least. Read his posts and learn... he's even dropped some names of others that will help you as well.
He said... Plan your work and Work your plan. I'm sure his plan didn't start and end with quit my job in eight months... there was a lot between there... If you have problems with the PLAN YOUR WORK part then a mentor or coach could be very helpful for you. If you have a problem with the WORK YOUR PLAN, then perhaps you should also go join the Marines!

In my mind, I have been full-time for months. Just full time night time lol.

What took me the longest was earning enough residual income to "repalce" enough of my "9-5" , to not put my family in a position that is not fair to them. Second part was saving enough money, so that I have something to provide them with , if it all crumbled today -

The last part, was just growing a sack and doing it, which I finally did.

I'll enjoy this journey brotha'! Brining some along with me!

Hey Ryan....Voyageur149 from Skype here..just had to chime in man! Haters are always going to hate....but something tells me the confidence you have in yourself and business makes you not give a s%$t! And if more people adopted your attitude about business, more people would be better off!

Ryan has helped me in a lot of ways from answering all of my questions via email, to skype and everything in between. Yes, I have bought his WSO's and they are excellent. Most "smart" people can tell when the WSO creator actually practices what they preach and Ryan is no exception. Too many times we buy WSO's and you know they are just based on theory. All the seller wants is sales from the WSO. No value, no substance and personally I find it quite annoying.

My suggestion is instead of criticizing him for his success, stop what you are doing (if you aren't where you want to be) and take a look at what he is doing.... might just be what you need!

Thanks for the help man! Keep up the good work!

Success is in the person, not the path. I have a feeling Ryan, Adam, nameless and others would have been successful at other avenues of living as well. The medium doesn't matter for guys like that.

In other words, they earned what they earned because of who they are and what they decide to do, not what they decide to think about doing.

Ha - well here is the back story I really didn't explain in detail in the original post -

I knew I was quitting soon, it was a matter of when, right?

So my fiance went into hospital last thursday (she is fine now, no worries) and I had to take off that half day to bring her, and she was in the next day still - so I naturally took off.

All my boss cared about was me being at work! It pissed me off. It reminded me why I was doing what I was doing. So I can be there for people I care about at the drop of a hat.

So, Tuesday (yesterday rolls around) and my boss (2 hours away) randomly calls my desk and just hangs up, to see if I was at work .. WTF? -

So, I have to send up these reports that capture data, in excel format (it validates my position as a contractor) - it contains number, such as how many things you audited, costs, e-mails responded to etc. she sends back the report, nit pickin' and complaining about stuff that she was wrong about.

I returned the e-mail, explaining she was wrong, and said "also attached you will find my letter of resignation.

The letter of resignation is pdf'ed right now :-) - will be framed soon, and I can host the image somewhere and share it with you.

But yeah, my fiance going into the hospital, and not having the freedom to be by herside the whole time, really hit home, and I made up my mind right then I was done.

I have good people on my left and right here, and only because of them, did I not immediately quit - it would leave them in a huge bind, and , the notice will suffice, I will give them time to find a replacement so they don't feel the brunt of my departure to fast.

Had I not been surrounded by good people here, I was out that Friday with a few choice words to my employer.

I have to agree! As I said in the email I sent you - I am self employed now but want to go full time on "the net". Gives me even more freedom.
My daughter was in the hospital out of state. My wife went to visit her (burned up almost all of vaca time). I went and will still be able to go on vacation with the kiddies. All because I don't have to answer to NOBODY! (except my customers !). It is a great feeling.
You will never regret this - ever!!!!!!!!!!!!

That sums it up beautifully. You are actually a good dude for sticking around so that they can find someone to fill in and take your position. There is good and bad with being your own base: a. The lack of a steady paycheck is obviously the biggest issue, and if your company offers health insurance as a perk of being employed, that is another consideration as well.
I have friends and family members that have been self employed running their own business for a long time (20+ years) and they all tell me that they could not see themselves working for someone else. By the way, they also happen to be the wealthiest people I know financially as well the ones who have the most flexibility with regard to schedule etc. That is not to say that I dont know folks who are well off that have worked, or arent working for someone else as an employee. My brother in law is doing fine working in IT for a big NYC based bank, and a former client of mine worked as a Database programmer for 30 years and lent me his Porsche Cayenne when my car was in the shop - I didnt even ask he simply asked if i needed a car for the week that the car was being fixed and he lent me his Porsche truck.

Anyway, keep doing what you are doing, stay focused, and grow your business(es).

As for folks still harping on the earlier poster in the thread who did not find much use in the original OP post, leave it be already. We are all free to extrapolate and find use and meaning in whatever we read. There might not be a ton of utility in the initial post, but there was much motivation and inspiration. To each his/her own.

        Warmest Regards,

        - John Tzor (JT)

But the realization that you did not have the freedom to pursue your purpose

Lol. genius dude. Your headline was great, and the post was even better.

You are defiantly right, you find wealth, your own way. These types of reports, and headlines prey on your mind. They are shiny pennies taking you away from the path. You know what you get when you chase pennies? pennies. Start chasing dollars.

Thanks. I crafted this super ninja style, that I knew "few" would get, and some would troll.

      It was expected.

It is really awesome to see everyone who came in here to "get my back" so to speak, I didn't realize so many people were "watchin" me

Ryan, I can appreciate your post. I was on a conference call the other day and a young woman was feeling stuck - as if she was going around in circles and never getting anywhere.

The coach on the call asked her if she had a plan and what actions she had taken. After thinking for a moment, she realized that she didn't have a set plan and was not taking massive action.

Instead she was "waiting" for something to happen. So, instead of creating and generating income, nothing was happening for her.

With a plan and the desire to take massive action - something will happen - even if that "something" is not exactly what you bargained for.

Ryan, for what it's worth, I am proud of you.

FYI, I started the transition from online to offline the end of last year (partially due to my wife passing away and wanting to do something new), I can't say that there has ever been a more impressive rise to succeed at one's goals than Ryan.

Like him, I am very thankful for all the help that the seasoned vets here have provided. John Durham, David Miler, Nathan (iamnameless), WillR, Quentin, just to name a few.

But I have watched Ryan from when he first arrived on the scene and have watched his drive, determination, willingness to listen and act upon advice given and perseverance in always moving ahead.

Am I surprised by his post here? Absolutely not. I could always see it coming.

A few have said it, but what most don't know is Ryan is not only willing to help others (maybe paying it forward or just likes to help), but it's what he does to help that goes above and beyond what you would expect.

I had a couple of times I asked him questions on Shay's Skype chat group (need to rev that thing back up) and the responses he gave and what he showed me were phenomenal. The one technique he shared was not something you would normally expect someone to show you, but he did anyway. Needless to say it was innovative and unique.

Anyway, enough gushing as it something I don't normally do and congrats Ryan on meeting your goal. You definitely are deserving of it.

    Thanks,

    John

Ryan, Im really pleased that you are doing well offline and are quitting your job - thats the dream for so many people.

Ive been doing this since 2007 and I absolutely love it. I make more money than I ever imagined and my days are my own, I don't answer to anyone and I have clients calling me telling me how much they love me!

Whats more, I've had the opportunity to train others to do the same and they are doing incredible well - this is what makes me more proud than anything - that my systems work so well that other people are quitting their jobs and living the lives that they desire.

One guy I just taught was in a heap of strife, up to his neck in debt and child support payments. He was literally drowing in debt. In Feb, he sold his house, bought a Winnebago and now travels the country - and he still services clients while he does it - That was his dream, he's living comfortably and he's doing what he loves.

More people should do it, offline marketing changed my life, and Im

That is awesome. I have a small group of action takers I talk with daily (a mastermind if you will) -

I have people saying if it weren't for the group - they never would have got their first client, etc.

That is such a great feeling - to go from clueless 8 months ago, to helping others succeed!

Had a conversation earlier at dinner with my fiance, who admitted "I am sort of scared now, like I know you are doing good but you know, everyone has normal jobs"

All I told her was this, and it fixed it:

"Look at me" waited till she looked in my eyes - "I got this"

I have probably never in my life uttered three words with more conviction than those.

If anyone else in here can honestly do the same, and know that, the sky is the limit.

That was it, she smiled, she is fine -

One of the biggest reasons for my success (and most everyone's success), is having someone in my corner that has supported me the last 8 months -

It has not been easy on her, I will admit. As I worked all day, came home, and worked all night, tirelessly, until 2 am, up at 6 am, rat race, rinse and repeat.

But she supported me. She pretended to care when I showed her my new idea for this or that. She wrote on my direct mail pieces for me, and she has been there in my corner.

But, yes, I know you know, how the feeling is!

Funny you should mention taking life on the road. That is exactly what we will be doing as of September.
We have given notice and are "hitting the road" with our business this fall. This has been a lifetime dream of ours and our network marketing business is allowing us to fulfill our dream. We are taking our lives, and our business and will be spending years seeing and doing everything we possibly can.
BTW - we love to share the opportunity.

Hey Ryan - LOVE the thread, and your stance. I am where you were about 8 months ago, I guess. I have a very comfortable salaried position, I sort of feel like a barn cat right now. You know what those are? Feral cats that live out in barns that people feed, but they feed them just enough to where they're still hungry and will chase and get rid of pests. Feed them too much, and they'll be lazy. Don't feed them enough, and they'll go wild and not help you in your barn.

I have had enough with getting wso after wso, and have FINALLY seen the light, thanks to some people like you and my other Alabama buddy rolltide and some others (I live about a 45 minute drive from rolltide).

What you have done, where I have FAILED is that you've gotten out there and taken the action necessary to build your own success. The thing is, now that you are equipped with how to do it (and I think it's cool that you admit those first few calls were scary and you flopped some), you have positioned yourself for a lifetime of income where you can sustain yourself no matter what happens to Google, Apple, or any other product.

I failed in the past because I didn't have the stones to get out there and actually talk to business owners, and, regrettable, my family paid the price of my weakness. Not any more! Thanks to the inspiration of you and some other key players, I am about to be unstoppable. And I've said before, I'll not meet some goals, and I'll hear a lot of people say "no" still, but I will never be a failure again.

Thank you for your motivation, Roll Tide from another Alabama boy, and Semper Fi from a squid who served with a Marine unit in the reserves.

And dude, your story about your dinner with your fiancee hit me right in the gut. I NEVER want to have my wife fear what I am doing, like she did when I failed as a financial advisor because I didn't have the stones to talk to people as much as I needed to. I WILL be at the point, very soon, when I can tell my wife and my seven year old daughter, just like you told your fiance - "I got this".

Stop thinking like the worker bee and trying to do everything yourself. Start thinking like a boss, and NETWORK you butt off. Dedicate your self to something and ask your self "Are you really in this, or just messing around"
    That's what I will follow.
