A Call For Members To Up Their Game

I'm calling members to up their game
so that their business grows instead of it being
choked by themselves.

I'm helping an associate, unpaid, and went into the WSO
section to see if what a seller has for sale will help him.

Asked a question and saw the seller was logged in.

"Great" I thought, I'll get a fast response.

No response 24 hours later.

Yet he has been making comments on this forum.

Seems like idle chat is more important than prospective customers.

Got me thinking how much time is spent on this forum by some members
when they could of been doing far more productive things.

These actions speak louder than words
which are used to justify these actions.

My challenge to members is to be more productive in your use of your time
rather than getting sucked into commenting on here and more time growing a real business.

Are you up to the challenge?

Best,
Ewen

P.S. The WSO seller still hasn't responded to 3 questions in his thread,
yet has been logged into the forum...see what I mean by missed opportunities
to show readers you do give a damn?

Heck yes. (I'd say more but that would defeat the purpose )

      Lol!

And what would that purpose be my friend?

To be surfing and posting instead of working! Although it's Sunday, so I have an excuse to be idle. Tomorrow is when I can't procrastinate by reading threads all day.

(But I'm sure I'll sneak on the WF a few times...)

Definitely agree Ewen, this forum is a great resource for learning and sharing but can easily become a huge time suck.

I try to limit my usage by using the Pomodoro method (setting my iphone to a 25 minute timeframe) and that's my "break" from real work. Works quite well for me!

From what i can tell, there appears to be a huge number of people who claim to be in business ....

but more then half of them have no idea what a real business is, or how to operate one...

worse yet, half of those, call themselves guru

I've been trying to get info out of a warrior to outsource some services, who was recommended to me, he does respond after awhile, but he won't actually answer my questions...

      Not a good sign.

Would you really want to do business with this person?

I'm careful about the WSO's I purchase and try to only deal with established WF members who have a good track record. In addition I usually try to buy after all the initial hype and activity.

But still too often even these sellers of WSO's I've purchased (some very good ones) are slow or don't respond to support questions by PM, support emails or even on the thread even though I see that they've logged in numerous times to WF.

Ron, I am not saying this is the case with you if may not be at all.

What I often see here on the forum is people wanting to be baby sat during an entire process. I would think those who are selling these WSO's have plenty of their own business to run and lives to live outside the forum. The WSO in itself is their help to others.

They assume we can take the info and do something with it. They assume we are independent thinkers. They also assume rightfully so that the forum is full of small self reliant business owners, which would lead them to believe they can tend to their many projects, and not have to baby sit every WSO they write and every single person who reads one.
I am saying this with two things in mind. First, I am not a victim or an offender of the things you are speaking of, so I am not defending myself. Second I am a trainer of sales people offline in my state and several surrounding states. In the offline world I often have to give my truth and allow the taught person analyze and figure it out. It never turns out well when I hold their hand through the entire process. If I do they won't take action on their own unless once again I hold their hand.

Now I do understand that certain questions need an answer.

If you are buying a wso of even a semi busy person you may have to wait for your answers. Yes they may be on line posting but you have to consider a few things. One if a busy person they most likely forget certain things they mean to tend to, so squeaky wheel gets the grease. Simply approach until you get your answer.

If the WSO or thread info is worth your attention in the first place and is valuable, it still will be worth your time once you get the answer. Just keep at it until they answer. Either the answer is worth the wait or the info wasn't worth you pursuing in the first place. The actual value of it should not decrease in time. Either it can make you money or not.

The reason I am saying all this is because, my friends, there is no way this thread or these comments are going to change any one personality of any one warrior. Those who are slow to answer will most likely always be slow to answer. The question to ask one self is the answers worth the wait. If so understand who you're working with and calculate that in. If the answers are not worth the wait then stop buying that persons WSO's.

Do we all want timely responses yes we do. It is the most ideal for us all. However not everyone operates in the mode. So again either the waited info is worth the wait or stop going to that person. We all know to expect a person to change who they are is often not going to happen.

Measure it all out and make your decisions. I know some are worth the wait while others are not, and those who give timely answers are my favorites. However even in the offline world, where I do most of my business, I run into these same issues. Some are worth the wait and others I have to let go of.

          Still I feel your pain.

    Ewen,

It's a great point about not loitering around the forum and actually being out there and doing something PRODUCTIVE for Warriors to grow their offline businesses. That's why I have so few posts - unless something truly compels me to reply.

Maybe there several here who are making idle comments to reach the minimum to send private messages and also be more likely be approved as an affiliate to promote WSO's.

However, I resolve to at least be courteous enough to leave thoughtful and relevant posts in the future, much as here for your thread, when I have been able to either garner great information, new idea or technique, fresh insights or to offer the same.

Best wishes for continued success in the second half of 2012!

    Thanks,
    Gil

I have had the some experience. It's very disappointing when prominent warriors behave that way.
