Pay Per Call for Attorney: How Much to Charge?

I have an attorney that is interested in getting a pay per call proposal. He is a criminal defense attorney dealing with crimes, DUI, etc. I know one case can make an attorney a small fortune, so I don't want to price the calls I generate too low, but then again I don't want to be way out of line.

Anyone working with attorneys to generate calls and leads?

    Hello,

My friend the very first thing you need to check is the state bar rules of conduct. Attorneys are not allowed to pay out referrals in MANY states in USA. (I know this as I am dealing with some 1500 attorneys for last 7 years.)

Secondly, I am also forming a nationwide law firm for Personal Insurance referral for Attorneys. The pricing is real good. What we plan to do is, generate leads for the Attorneys, qualify the customer on given guidelines by the Attorney and then set up a call of the prospect with the Attorney. If he says he can accept that lead after talking to the prospect, we get paid. The payments range from $500 to $1000 depending on various factors. In short, depending on how much the Attorney can make from it.

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks!

Thanks for the info, I'll check into the legalities in my state. Aren't you doing the same thing though (i.e. sending referrals). If your service is nationwide, how do you get around taking referral fees from attorneys in states that don't allow it?

Another Warrior posted this on another thread some time back...

          http://www.tvnewscheck.com/article/5...ough-legal-ads

As you can see, it doesn't mention a specific pay-per-call lead amount, rather, this article gives you some general insights into they types of fees these lawyers charge. And I'm sure it is also heavily influenced by geographic location.

Wow what a juicy article. I've heard horror stories about attorneys as clients. High maintenance and all. I'm def bookmarking it just in case I'm able to work up the nerve to work with them.

I have a lot of experience in this area. Attorneys cannot share fees with non-attorneys. However, they can pay for marketing services and that can be structured on a per-lead or per-call basis. If it's on a per-lead or per-call basis (whether or not they sign up that client), it's not fee sharing.

As far as how much to charge per call/lead, that will depend on a variety of factors. To give you a very general idea, $50 to $200 for a criminal defense lawyer. Could be more if the lead is not shared, you can get good quality leads, it's a hot metro market and the attorney is entrepreneurial enough to understand the value.

I have a friend who is an attorney and he was paying $75 each for non-exclusive leads (shared with 4-5 other attorneys) that he was getting from an outfit that sounded very "Service Magic-ish".

He wasn't pleased with the results.

I have an attorney client that I'm handling her SEO campaign for her but due to the strict bar rules she is not comfortable having anyone manage her social media presence. We've got a fairly strong presence on Youtube - but is there anything I'm missing out on to help my client generate leads?

I have several legal clients who have paid anywhere from $15 to $500 for leads. It all depends on if they are shared, state rules and myriad other issues.

Mr. Marketer: I don't have enough points to answer your PM. My email is admin at the womancondemned dot com.
